Weird comment. Western hardware obliterated the conventional and relatively powerful Iraqi army in Desert Storm and again in 2003.

In 1991 the Iraqi military was far more powerful than the Iranian military is relative to today.

Insurgency is a completely different thing. Here we are talking about a conventional long range war between two functioning states - Israel and Iran. Insurgency does not come into it at all.

Israel has a cutting edge air force and air defense system. Iran has neither of those things, in fact it has absolutely nothing even vaguely comparable. Just missiles and a heavy reliance on proxies for deterrence.

So yes in a conventional war Israel holds the upper hand massively. It doesn't mean Iran can't cause some damage but I'd give a snowball a better chance in an oven than Iran gaining any kind of edge over Israel in a conflict.

Military might may provide a short term fix, but it will not give Israel peace and security long term- especially if the plan is to re occupy parts of Gaza. Although Likud don't want peaceful co existence if it interferes with their greater Israel project. The rapid expansion of settlements in the West Bank in recent times is clear evidence of the fact it doesn't matter what the Palestinians do nothing will stop the project.

If you were capable of being unbiased you would acknowledge both Likud and Hamas have to go if there is any prospect for peace.

Israel is a cockpit army of pilots who are stuck in the past and just capable to drop bombs. Countries do not need planes or a navy anymore, all they need is thousands of missiles that can be dropped anywhere they want whenever they want.

Aircraft carriers and things like that died at the battle of midway, now one missile can hit the deck of one at such a speed it probably goes straight through and hits the bottom of the ocean. All they are is a big floating target in the middle of the sea.

In a war, Irans missiles would be depleted very fast and won't be able to be replaced. They would have little left after a few days.

Getting the missiles fired off would not be as easy with Israeli and maybe US warplanes in the Iranian skies.
