Where did I claim that you were a closet Trump supporter? The discussion would be much less circular if you stopped putting arguments in my mouth I did not make.

I understand that you are not a Trump supporter. Great.

Do you take issue with his comments about democrats being scum and garbage like you do with Bidens comments?

Do you take the same issue with the myriad of other comments he has made about countless people, in particular the comments about foreigners earing pets?

Assuming the answer to these is yes, then when you compare to two guys in respectt to their comments, who is worse?

When Trump says something it needs to be taken In context and reimagined so that it wasn't what it said at all.

CNN showed a great compilation of Republican pols the other day desperately trying to spin Trump's 'enemy within' spiel as being about illegals coming across the Mexican border. Jake Tapper just cut one guy short with like "Nope, he just said 'Nancy Pelosi is evil.' How is that about Mexican immigrants?"

You are doing the exact same thing.

Because I have criticised Bidens comments I now have to criticise Trumps comments?

Which Trump comments do you need me to criticise in order for the Biden one to be ok?

I'm not asking you to criticise anything. I'm asking you to just clarify your stance with simple yes or no questions.

I'm just asking you if you have the same issue with Trumps comments as you do with Bidens single comment. I already gave you an example of one of his comments.

I don't know if you have an issue with his comments or not. Can you please clarify?

Nor am I asking you say or believe Bidens comment is OK.

Nor am I saying that you need to criticise Trump to also criticise Biden.

Again this another argument you are trying to put in my mouth.

Read back my first two comments tonight and see where you’ve dragged this discussion to.

Yup. Like I said, you're just refusing to acknowledge the stuff Trump says and does.

If you're not willing to answer simple yes or no questions to clarify your position, no discussion can be had.

I’ve already said Trump said and did terrible things. You were quoted.

My original post was about both sides not being able to admit flaws in their candidates.

The fact nearly every reply to me from you has been about trump it proves my point.

I have to log off now. I think you should too.

Sure man. If you ignore the content of my posts and just focus on one particular T-word, you're right.

You seem to have missed where I've repeatedly stated there was valid criticisms about Harris. But it's odd that you claim that she's "my candidate" and spent most of your posts talking about the B-word.

amazing how one minute the libs moan about President Trumps cognitive state and the next he is a subtle genius wordsmith…

So it's either your contention that he meant it, which is disqualifying, or he didn't mean it because of his "cognitive state" which is also disqualifying?

I fully expect Trump appearing tomorrow in a full army kit.

Such is the nonsense of his administration.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

A reminder of Harris circa 2019 - it has certainly not been a smooth ride in any way shape or form - and up until this week her campaign had stalled for the very same reasons her presidential nomination campaign stalled in 2019

In my view Trump gave her a second chance last Sunday with that rally and the subsequent things that have occurred

“But a month before a single primary vote was cast, her campaign ended amid infighting among staff, stalled fundraising, poor debate performances, the lack of a coherent message and her failure to articulate her vision for what she would do as president, other than make history as a black woman.Harris, like so many senate supernovas before her, crashed and burned, so much that there was some surprise when Biden chose her as his running mate, notwithstanding the clear need to balance the ticket.”

McKeown was on Matt Cooper earlier and she was cautiously optimistic about her coming out with a win on Tuesday.

Cause he's a draft dodger and has repeatedly insulted people in the military.

Harris should be well ahead. It shouldn't even be a contest. The fact it is, shows you how badly the Democrats read the room about who got the nomination.

I don't think I've ever seen such an incompetently run campaign as Harris's one is turning into. The segway into Trumps mental fitness by the Harris machine is staggeringly stupid, when they have Pres. Biden, literally right there. Right there!!

The one to one interviews with Harris and Walz will be dissected again, post election and they won't read well.

I don't think that anyone has mentioned the moment that her campaign hit the rocks. Debate night.. Harris v Trump. She's winning and not just by a little. But then she sound bites and it's arrogance. There are no military serving over seas.. Thats what she said. The clips that went around of actual serving military, abroad, reacting to that. Add in Walz padding up his record and you have the most patriotic of Americans, being down trodden by the Dem ticket.

She really didn't have to do much to have won this. Keep reasonably quiet and let the PR machine spin away. Somehow. Baffling, she's about to Tea Party the Dems.

Tucker Carlson has claimed he was attacked by a "demon". Really leaning into the Christian grift.

Just one of the many hucksters in Trump's orbit and fueling/feeding off all this.

I found it hard to read him before this. I wasn't sure about his platform on Fox but he's kinda grown on me.

He sees disparity and its not hard to do that in US politics from all sides.

Demons. Meh. It's more word play. It's a common phraseology to use the word demons in regards to your foibles. The demon drink. Etc. He's got his demons. Etc. Etc.

His antics in the last year include doing pr for Putin…

No, don't spin it, it's not word play. He's talking about literal biblical "demons".

    "

Asked if he was referring to journalism, Carlson responded: “No, in my bed at night. I got attacked while I was asleep with my wife and four dogs and mauled, physically mauled.”

    "

Carlson, who said he still bears the scars, said his assailant was a “demon”. He added: “Or by something unseen that left claw marks on my sides.”

He said at the time of the attack, he was asleep in bed. I was “totally confused, I woke up, and I couldn’t breathe, and I thought I was going to suffocate”, he said.

“I walked around outside and then I walked in and my wife and dogs had not woken up. And they’re very light sleepers. And then I had these terrible pains on my rib cage and on my shoulder, and I was just in my boxer shorts and I went and flipped on the light in the bathroom, and I had four claw marks on either side underneath my arms and on my left shoulder. And they’re bleeding.”

He added that he explained the encounter to an assistant, an evangelical Christian, who told him: “That happens, people are attacked in their bed by demons.”

Carlson, who lives in the woods of Maine, did not say where the attack occurred, but called it a “transformative experience” that left him “seized with this very intense desire to read the Bible”.

I read that differently. To actually avoid Nuclear conflict, dialogue of any kind is important. It doesn't matter how it starts. It's more important that it starts.

Did you listen to the interview? Objectively?

His pal Alex Jones is the same. They did a live show together recently where they were talking about literal demons and magic etc.

Most media don't really highlight how deep and crazy some of the beliefs these guys spout actually go, so those with a superficial knowledge of them can pretend that they are extreme, but still serious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭DangerMouse27

You won't believe me and which is your right but I know someone who fought a demon in his sleep. He was wrecked. Scratched ta ****. It's a serious brain trauma that occurs. Exhaustion, stress. It actually happens. People, usually with Christian backgrounds or strong beliefs tend to manifest the stress as a demon. They are doing it to themselves.

His partner at the time found him hanging out the window cursing at someone.

Some deep conscious form of PTSD.

Not to mention Trump is thinking of giving RFK a post in the new government. The conspiracy theorist guy who cuts the heads of animals, a man whose entire family and extended family calls a complete loon. Trump is hand in hand with these charlatans and quacks - and none of his supporters seem to bat an eye about it.

    Jesus that is seriously worrying

"Ban the use of federal funds being used to label domestic speech as misinformation"

That's essentially control of the media, one of the biggest facets of fascism

    https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/01/politics/special-counsel-jack-smith-donald-trump-investigation/index.html

A former Justice Department official who has insight of Jack Smith's approach said that Smith won't be the one to say "I'm folding the tent". Prosecutors are preparing for the possibility of GOP-led congressional investigations and internal professional reviews that could be initiated by the Department at Trump's urging if he is re-elected.
