I wonder will RTE do a feature on the 83 when it goes, it was my bus growing up. Oh wait, it doesn't go past Montrose

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

I'm raptured by the joy of it all.

The 46A event wasn't organised by RTE, It was organised by myself and fellow bus enthusiasts/preservationists.

I was surprised to see the 80 changed from Ballinteer to Rathmines, I found it strange at the same time that there was no mention of the south side 16 being withdrawn, so I figured something had changed. I'm a regular user on the 26 route and use the stops at Bachelors Walk & Westmorland Street all the time, but now it'll be to/from Dame Street or George's Street instead. A bit of an inconvenience, but honestly it could be worse!

The 80 going from Liffey Valley SC to Rathmines is only a temporary arrangement. It will be extended to Balinteer once the A-Spine is implemented.

I think it will be worse. It's going to lose a lot of time trying to get out of the bus stop on Arran Quay into a queue of general traffic trying to get across the Father Mathew Bridge and then onto High Street and Lord Edward Street, none of which have bus lanes.

It’s a tough one - they want to retain some bus services on Georges St while also implementing the College Green plaza.

Staying on the Quays the only other route (assuming no turns at O'Connell Bridge) it could take would be to use Rosie Hackett Bridge and Westland Row.

Bus Connects core bus corridors missed a trick. There should be a bus gate on George's street between Exchequer Street and Dame Street

I think the idea behind it is when College Green becomes pedestrianised

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 19,039 ✭✭✭✭LXFlyer

    Why?

There will only be the 23, 24 and 80 using it.

That section of road is never congested.

I'm guessing the September launch for the F-spine will take a knock, now that the Hospice has commenced a High Court challenge to it 😡

That's the corridor, shouldn't affect the route changes.

I think the 53 is supposed to be renumbered to the 97? As the 58 no longer goes to the port as part of the 57/58 changes.

I assume the 11b will also be cancelled once the O route launches? Or will that be tied to a seperate phase.
