An ultra racist, fascist, supremacist, lying, deceitful, fraudster democracy.

If it's not at that yet then your friends in the IDF will see to it very shortly. How can you support a murderous rabble?

Israel is not like every country in the world. If it were , every country would be attacking every other country. No other country has been condemned by the UN, or have as many resolutions passed against them as Israel. By a huge margin.

Just like Jimmy Saville was only accused of necrophlia, rape etc.

He was never convicted of anything.

Next Monday is the US election. There will be wall-to-wall coverage for that event across all media - probably until the end of the week.

Israel are masters at burying bad news. I'd bet they have already planned their actions next week. Undoubtedly a lot more horrific than normal (if that was even possible) - because Israel knows the world will be tuned into election fever.

And journalists in Gaza are either banned or dead of course.

Just noticed this on the BBC:

Israel must immediately address the “catastrophic humanitarian situation” in Gaza, the US envoy to the UN has warned, as the deadline approaches to improve the flow of aid or face cuts to American military assistance.

“Israel’s words must be matched by action on the ground,” Linda Thomas-Greenfield said. “Right now, that is not happening.”

The US has given its ally until 12 November to "surge" all assistance, with a minimum of 350 lorries entering Gaza daily. But the UN says only 10% of that number have crossed each day on average since then.

Israel’s ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, said it was going “above and beyond its humanitarian obligations” and blamed Hamas.

For the Israeli apologists that's merely a witchhunt motivated by antisemitism-anything but admit the truth of the matter. With this in mind If Israel dropped a nuke on Gaza or Iran tomorrow you' d have some posters here saying they were "forced" to do it. Now imagine the outrage if someone in defense of a nuke being dropped on Tel Aviv said the perpetrator was "forced" into doing so. There is simply nothing Israel could do that would cause their supporters to disown them.

Indeed. '' I didn't stab him, he jumped into the knife 10 times '' kind of thing.

I have a feeling if Harris is elected we will see a sudden surge in aid going into Gaza. If Trump gets elected the Israelis will probably just carry on as before. If Trump gets elected Bibi may feel emboldened to escalate things with Iran again. As Trump has previously stated his support for a much broader attack on Iran. Although he didn't let Bolton have his way on Iran , but he has to know supporting a much broader attack on Iran risks the slide into a wider regional war. I' m not a huge fan of Harris to be honest, but perhaps she is the least worst option at this time.

I appreciate that Harris is walking a fine line so that the Zionist lobby doesn't attack her, while at the same time trying not to lose Muslim votes. That said, I have neither seen nor heard a single thing to make me believe that she is any better than Biden on Palestine - and he is the one who has given a clear green light to Israel to carry out their continuing massacre of Palestinians, and of Lebanese, along with their constant attacks on Syria and occasional attacks on Iran.

While I share most Irish people's distaste for Trump, has there been any evidence to suggest that he is worse in real, practical terms on the Palestinian question than Biden? We know Trump's form on the matter, it's not good, but Biden's form is absolutely appalling. Harris has said nothing to give the slightest indication that she would be better than Biden, never mind Trump, on this matter.

Must be because they have democracy. Interestingly, most of those countries in that list have some form of sanctions on them except Israel. UN is useless, no country should have veto rights.

Well as you said in the run to an election she is constrained in what she can say because the Republicans will attack her as being soft on Terrorism/ Hamas sympathiser if she is too critical of Israel. If she is elected we will soon she if she will take a tougher stance towards Israel than Biden. As for Trump he has criticised the Israelis for taking too long to finish the war in Gaza, which indicates he, like much of the Israeli Public, thinks the IDF hasn't used enough force in Gaza.

He also I suspect would not object to Israel resettling Gaza. I think his son in law is very receptive to the idea.

He also supported Israel attacking Iran's nuclear and oil facilities. Biden was against that but that's possibly because he didn't want an oil crisis on his hands in the run up to an election. As we saw Bibi took heed of what he said.

Which proves your point that if Biden really wanted to he could have reined in Bibi long ago. I just wonder what stick did he wield to get Bibi to listen to him. Did he threaten to cut off aid. Perhaps the threat of the Iranians firing a thousand or more ballistic missiles at oil fields in the Middle east focused Joe's mind.

You would think it would be full on embarrassing for Israel to have virtually every sociopath and psychopath on social media shilling for them, but that's pretty much the point we are at now - look at Twitter on any given day.

conflicting reports of hopes for hezbollah cease fire within hours or days from lebanon prime minister

but then CNN reporting that iran may strike israel before 5 nov. election

looks like great possibility of peace and all out war still hanging in the balance at present

You are right I'd say, they are waiting (like a lot of people) to see what happens in the US election.

I thought the Israeli attack on Iran was weaker than expected, but that is just going by the public build up to it by Israel's government/military.

I kind of think there may be a lot of communication between Netanyahu/Israeli govt. and the potential Trump team.

Even though Trump and co. don't care how many Palestinians or Lebanese Israel kills (or may even prefer the death toll rise further, and will supply Israel all the weapons it needs/wants to do that), a Trump admin. could have same general opinion as a Biden admin. or Harris admin. on the question of starting a bigger war with or for Israel in the ME.

i.e. Israel/Bibi can go and take a hike if they think the US military is going to wade into a war with Iran for them!

Hopefully when Iran do hit Israel it's military targets only. The more damage the better. They shouldn't lower themselves to Israels level by targeting innocents.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,035 ✭✭✭jackboy

I would be surprised if they do. After the election the US will not care about holding Israel back and may decide to join in to end the Iranian missile threat once and for all.

The origin of Israeli Jews is a little more complex than some people from Brooklyn.

In particular, there were nearly as many Jewish refugees from the rest of the Middle East North Africa region who fled to Israel as there were Arab refugees from the area during the 47/48 war.

Oh yeah, I am sure the USA will sort out Iran once and for all. Their track record is exemplary in that regard.

The only people that can sort out Iran are the Iranian people. With the age of information and technology, it's harder and harder for religious loons to control people.

What are they doing in the Hyacinth House?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,035 ✭✭✭jackboy

Yeah, but without their very vulnerable missile force they have a very limited attacking threat. M

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,148 ✭✭✭SafeSurfer

Absolutely. But if a handful of Israelis are unfortunately killed, the narrative will be it is the most barbaric, unprovoked attack ever to have happened. The 40,000 + dead in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, Syria, Yemen and Iran that Israel have killed in the past year won’t even figure.

The new Israeli state actively promoted the emigration of Jews from countries throughout the Middle East, even when under no threat, to the new Israeli state, as it clearly states in your link.

Large-scale migrations were also organized, sponsored, and facilitated by Zionist organizations such as Mossad LeAliyah Bet, the Jewish Agency, and the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society

This move encountered mixed reactions in the Knesset; in addition to some Israeli officials, there were those within the Jewish Agency who opposed promoting a large-scale emigration movement among Jews whose lives were not in immediate danger.”

if iran attack israel again, most likely israel will all the targets it is waiting for next time - oil, nuclear whatever it wants

Isn't it mad that there was a single tribe of people back in the who all left their homeland that god promised to them. They scattered to different parts of the world, marrying among themselves. But yet we see noticeable differences between them. The Ashkenazi who went to central ended up looking like central Europeans. The Sephardic who went to Spain still look lie Spanish today. The Mizrahi look Arabic and the lads that went to Ethiopia turned black.

Fair coincidences. A cynic might say that it shows they are actually from those regions rather than Palestine. Others might say the white jews just turned black in a few generations by only marrying and breeding among themselves.

While it may have been true that not all of the Jews in the MENA region were in danger, the fact is that a very large number left their homes in a short space of time - often in a hurry - and not all destined for Israel as about 250,000 - 300,000 went to other countries.

I think it was 12 tribes historically, but the ancestors of many of todays' Jews would have converted. But the fact remains that many Israeli Jews are partially or wholly natives of the MENA region, and thus have a blood claim to a home in that part of the world.

There seems to be a lot of American ''Jews'' stealing land in the West Bank.

Jewish emigrants were given the opportunity to emigrate to the US, Canada, France and other countries, in the post war era by instruments such as the Truman Directive etc.

Yes, they were the smart ones. The rest ended up in a ghetto surrounded by people who don't like them, and who by their actions now cordially hate them. A dangerous sort of carry-on in the long term.
