Hot water switch is stuck

Hi,

The hot water switch is stuck in the "Off" position. Does that mean I need a new switch? I've attached a picture.

I've changed basic switches myself. Is this something I could get from Screwfix and change myself?

Yes you need a new switch. It is a DIY job if you are a competent DIYer. Chances are you won't get a switch that is identical and you will have to work out the connections for yourself.

Obviously switch the mains off before starting and double check the power is off to the switch because you can't check by switching it on and seeing the red neon.

this brand of switch is known to burn out

The replacement switch may not require a link wire that is fitted In this switch

Take a photo of the back of the switch with the wires attached before you disconnect it

Be thankful it wasn't stuck in the on position. It probably is on it's way out so I'd get it replaced for a new one anyway.

I am unable to find a dual immersion switch at Screwfix.

Are there any alternatives that I could look at with the same plate size?

I am hoping to get from screwfix as that's the nearest store and will have to travel far off. Woodies would be second option but I want to get a better quality and brand. These switch gets pretty warm after 30 minutes of usage.

The Wifi device is only an on/off switch so you can't use it as a direct replacement for the original sink/bath switch. Well you can but you will have to have it on only bath or only sink. If you wire it as an additional switch before the sink bath switch and leave the sink/bath switched on then you can control what ever you have set (sink or bath) on the original switch from your phone.

afaik screwfix don't do a bath/sink switch, its not in their catalog and they didn't have one when I needed one a while back.
