Ah now, German and Japanese aims were global domination of the whole globe

The acts of October 7th were hideous and completely wrong (including the kidnapping of hundreds of innocent civilians, quite a few who have died since).

But the extremely destructive and murderous activities of Israel in the region were always going to lead to terrorist groups and terrorist acts, it was an absolute inevitability - the level of violence being met with similar violence.

why would they emigrate to Europe and not the prosperous Arab/Muslim states next door ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 519 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

I'm referring to women who fight with PIS and Hamas. There's plenty of them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,230 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Why would they leave their own country in the first place? They are a very resilient people.

That’s good to know because Putin is back to trying to starve Palestinians

Women who fight for what they see as a just cause are to be admired surely !! Plenty of women fought in the 1916 Rising against oppressors.

You now denying statements by UN?

“The Russian strikes are believed to have delayed a ship from departing Ukraine while carrying vegetable oil destined for the World Food Programme in Palestine, according to Starmer's statement, as well as vessels with grain destined for Egypt and World Food Programme shipments bound for southern Africa.”

Or reports from Al Jazeera? About ships with food for Middle East being deliberately targeted

Because they have horrible human rights records don't want them and wouldn't help them at all? I know you don't want them either but the laws of the land in most of Europe means they can apply for asylum and will be afforded basic human rights and provisions.

Ah it’s good that you have clarified so eloquently why prosperous Arab Muslim states don’t help their fellow Muslims

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,353 ✭✭✭✭Thelonious Monk

They're horrible c**ts. They basically have slavery in those countries too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,928 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

And of course Palestine when it gets its state hood would somehow be different to these similar countries in neighbourhood

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 519 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

Killing Jews isn't a just cause, though you probably think it's the highest form of self-expression.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,353 ✭✭✭✭Thelonious Monk

Why do you say that? They're all the same those horrible Muslims? Turkey hosts 4 million refugees.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,928 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

remind us again who created those Syrian refugees and spent a decade bombing **** out of Syria?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 519 ✭✭✭sheepysheep

I never said Oct 7th resulted in the extermination of the Jews.

I said it was a very clear alignment between Hamas action, and their stated intention in their covanent to eradicate the Jews.

They'd kill Jews from sunrise to sunset if they got the chance. That day, they got their chance.

    @sheepysheep

Now you've vented your spleen, I'll address at least some of the points you've made. Others here have already adequately responded to other points you made so I'll leave those..

You've made some pretty wild accusations about people in general and me personally - that is most certainly not going to add to the discussion of current evens in any dignified manner. But I accept that this is an emotive topic and clearly you hold strong opinions, which you are entitled to.

I certainly do care about Palestinian lives and the lives of Israelis. The deliberate killing of any innocent person is utterly abhorrent. Be that an Israeli man woman or child or a Palestinian man, woman or child. But for Israel to exact an absolute firestorm of retribution on Gaza is utterly disgusting to me. The fact they film it, lie about, deny it, minimise it, justify it, normalise it and take joy in it is depraved. And make no mistake, all of those phrases apply equally to what Hamas did on October 7th. But do bear in mind that many of the accusations made about what Hamas did on that day have been debunked (beheaded babies, babies in ovens, pregnant woman's foetus cut out of her belly etc.) - I make that point only to illustrate that Israel will lie about anything to justify what they do.

You said that my stance on the war is "hypocritical". It isn't. But if you do have evidence of it, please share it and I'll debate with you.

As for this statement you made "Another poster pointed it out. You're all obsessed with Jews" - I've no idea where you got that from. It seems to me that it is pro-Israeli folks who bring "the Jews" into the discussion. For me, I couldn't care less who was razing Gaza and killing innocent civilians. I couldn't care less why they are doing it either. It could be Martians for all I care. It simply has to stop.

You also said this "Words like Genocide, Holocaust, Extermination and Concentration Camp are thrown about in an attempt to create some sort of parallel with Auschwitz" I can assure you I have never attempted to equate the Israeli genocide with any other genocide.

You've mentioned a few times that "Hamas should do this", Hezbollah should do that", have you once considered saying "Israel should stop doing this"?

My last response. You said "Until then, Israel will defend itself from attack." This is one example of many - yesterday an 11 year was killed or throwing pebbles at a military vehicle and he was shot dead by the IDF. Do you honestly believe that by killing an 11-year old boy, Israel is defending itself?

If you do believe that then absolutely, you are supporting the murder of innocent civilians. You are supporting the utter horror in Gaza and Lebanon. You are supporting a State that is before the ICJ for Genocide.

We are already seeing something sickening - the deliberate killing of 20, 000 children in Gaza by Israel. A video of a bloke hugging another bloke, not so much…

If a single video "explains everything for you" you might want to have a little think about why that is…

Do feel free to keep on denying the Israeli genocide of the Palestinians though.

and why do Palestinians need that shipment… go on, you can join the dots

Strange how they delay aid shipments, but not arms shipments.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,928 ✭✭✭thatsdaft

Because they live in a desert where **** doesn’t grow and their population grew from 60k to 800k in Gaza alone based on food imports from elsewhere

Oh and Russia won’t sell them food while Ukraine tries to only for ships to be attacked by Russians

There is a lot of justification for the current activities of Israel as "defending itself". Why won't Israel let the world see how it is defending itself in Gaza? Jeremy Bowen's report is illuminating. In addition to narrating a particular event witnessed by a paramedic, he raises many pertinent questions .

Jeremy Bowen report. Selected excerpts, my bolding.

Last Monday, Nevine al Dawawi took a video outside the Jabalia Boys Elementary school, just after it was attacked at 09:00 in the morning. It was no longer a place of learning but had been turned into a shelter for displaced civilians, like many schools in Gaza run by UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.

Nevine, the paramedic, explained that they had been "besieged" at the school for 16 or 17 days. Above them was the buzz of quadcopters, small drones used extensively by the IDF. It has a range of them, for surveillance and espionage, to issue orders through loudspeakers, for dropping bombs or firing at Palestinians they want to kill.

“We were living in so much fear. When the school was hit, we had people killed and injured. There was nothing there to eat or drink. The water tanker that was usually sent to us was bombed by the Israelis. It was like that for days. Three days ago, a quadcopter descended on the school at nine in the morning, giving us an ultimatum to get out by 10. The quadcopter loudspeaker said we had to evacuate the school because we were in a dangerous fighting zone.”

“We didn’t have time to pack our stuff. It gave us just one hour. After just 10 minutes, Israeli airplanes bombed the school. It was a big massacre with over 30 wounded and more than 10 killed.”

“The video showed girls torn to pieces. It also shows men with their intestines protruding from stomach wounds… A 10-year-old boy had his bowels bulging outside his stomach. His mum was killed, injured in the heart.”

“Some women who were taking cover were also injured and others killed. A cleaner at the school was shredded into pieces. A 12-year-old girl had a leg blown off. So did a woman displaced from Beit Hanoun, a town in Gaza’s north. She was aged between 35 and 40.”

Israel allowed reporters into their border communities along the border with Gaza in the days after the Hamas attacks last year. I was in Kfar Azza kibbutz when they were still recovering the bodies of dead Israelis, as soldiers checked buildings with bursts of gunfire. They wanted us to see where Hamas had killed around 1,200 Israelis, mostly civilians, and dragged more than 250 into captivity in Gaza.

The evidence is piling up that Israel has done things in Gaza that it does not want journalists to see, which is why they will not let us cross into the territory, except on rare and highly controlled visits with the army. I have been in only once, in the first month of the war, when Israeli firepower had already turned the areas of northern Gaza that I saw into a wasteland.

Blinken announces aid for Gaza, i don't know how he keeps a straight face.

"if you get on the wrong train, get off at the nearest station, the longer it takes you to get off, the more expensive the return trip will be."

Does this mean that it justifies bombing them into oblivion, killing tens of thousands of children?

Besides, we have absolutely no idea of what the outcome of Paelstine would be if Israel actually adhered to agreements.

I mean just stop arming the bastards Anto, how about that? I used to really like Biden, sure he's Irish isn't he, but the old prick could have put the foot down on this one and told those f*ckers to stop, a great way to go out. I really think Mosad has dirt on them all.

that’s 135 million more than your BRICKS jamboree

What should they do? Sink ships with food destined for Gaza like Russians are doing?

It’s a disgrace that those who support Putin so openly are busy criticising those trying to help
