LIDL plus app

This week’s code is PARKRUN457 and will allow you a choice between a loose clementine or funsize easypeelers from Lidl to help fuel you for, or recover from, your weekly parkrun.

I posted here a few days ago that I haven't gotten a scratch card in maybe 6 months. Then all of a sudden I got 2 in as many days. Don't get too excited though. I got this one

Cocoa 12 month has been up and down

Lidl butter gone up again, now 3.59 from 3.39. It was 2.99 only in August.

Changed in the app no need to activate every treat anymore just use the app and receive the discount of weekly offers.

The likes of Lidl , Aldi operate a 'discounter supermarket' business model , and some of us are OK with that : shelfs are filled only in the morning , no useless staff wandering around the shop aisles, skimpy packing area at the til , no useless weather/nonsense chitchat at the till with staff or 'helper' for the bags.

Giving the choice to activate certain discounts on the app was a good way to find out what you're interested in ( since the average shopper won't activate the other discounts ) - this created hassle at the tils, and now it's enabled by default .

Prices have increased steadily , and the 20-50% off helped to mask some of the increases .

The reduction on the short dated items , from 50% to 40% it's in line with the campaign ethos : Waste NOT! - it just applies in company's favour ( don't waste profit margins) and less for the customer

Oct/November it's the right time to increase the prices, to justify 20-30% off for the December campaigns

the more you'll know your customer, the less you'll give what he wants for free ( shopper is willing to pay for it's favorite items ) - ie. if you give the shopper 30% off cereals or frozen spicy meats and the shopper doesn't even 'activate' the offer, then you can safely give 2x 30% off in a row, followed by a pastry - enough to bring the shopper in store but not push him/her away for good

At an extended lunch break, someone in work kept praising the fruits in the 'main' supermarkets - Dnes and SV - how good they are and the freshness of some berries from a 'local producer'

I've asked if they read the small print at the back of the pack, to see if berries are produced and not packed in Ireland - conversation was cut short, and the main idea was that it's well worth to pay the extra money just to buy ( same products) from the fancy shops, since 'they're better quality overall'

I thought with not scanning in and copying other places they'd go down the multi use.

Only some things are and no rhyme or reason as to where they are in the app.

You can see the amount in tiny writing, be better if had multi use sign beside product

This is a case of be careful for what you wish for - now when shopping you have to jump between two separate lists to check what you can get the discount on.

Anyone know how the wallet works with this new Lidl Pay thing ?

I added my card but what’s the actual process at the till? Scan QR code and that’s it ?

you need to redeem code and activate in treats page same as before

but what happens if it clashes with a Lidl offer like it has been for months now

I am PLEASED to report that the Park Run offer works, even if the same item is on the 'automatic' treat line-up now

This morning I purchased two lots of easy-peelers. Normal Price 99c, Lidl Plus price 49c. I paid 49c for one pack, and got the other pack for free.

I'm so sorry, Lidl, I should never have doubted you!

(Though if you could throw in a few more free pastry scratchies, I'd love you even more).

I bought them both at the same time. The digital receipt says:

The fruit in Lidl Is rubbish though, Dunnes is much better. Although how anyone could think any of it could be locally produced in Ireland in late October is beyond me.
