the holocaust of 6 million jews is still fresh on israeli minds .
But that happened almost 80 years ago in different countries and on a different continent . BN is a rable rouser on ethnic and religious lines . He is ideologically more similar to Slobodan Milošević than any other politician .

    You are so intellectually dishonest.

You have acknowledged yourself that the ICJ have made no such ruling regarding Genocide.

Yet, here you are, yet again, shouting Genocide.

wait and see the real genocide if Irans mullahs have their way - israel is simply preventing that from happening

I'm not ignoring it, but the fact that you cannot defend it without whataboutery speaks volumes. And FWIW Likud did not invent the phrase and did not modify it for their own use until it had been around for at least a decade.

Who had sovereignty over the West Bank and Gaza Strip between 1949 and 1967?

I had forgotten about those particular phrases. A great way for supporters of the Iranian regime to demonstrate their deranged bloodlust.

Of course, we're not supposed to talk about Ayatollahs, their deranged genocidal bloodlust, their material support for the bad guy in all of todays modern conflicts etc. We're just supposed to pretend - as some do - that tiny little Israel is acting in a vacuum.

The old 'self defence' line: "We are under existential threat from our neighbours, so we can do whatever the hell we want, kill tens of thousands of innocent civilians and break all international humanitarian laws" (the very definition of a rogue or terrorist state).

Tiny little Israel looks like it is running some full on Nazi style extermination camps in jabalia. Horrific. Absolute ghouls defending this

Ignores my post by replying with this irrelevant nonsense. You stated there was no Palestine, yet here one Poster showed a coin, and my own post regarding the 1936 founding of the PALESTINE symphony Orchestra.

the Israelis are licking their lips at all the Palestinians and Lebanese they can get away with killing …. Israel will love to kill millions of people in the middles east …. Will USA be able to give Israel enough bombs to kill everyone in the Middle East ??

    oh ffs

Are you portraying Israel as the great defender of western civilisation

In the leaked US Intel documents there is assurance that Israel is not planning to use nuclear weapons against Iran.

Oooops what happened to the constructive ambiguity around Israel having nuclear weapons?

Another mad thing is that when the British moved into the area after WWI, they called it "Mandatory Palestine". Bit of a coincidence that they random sequence of letters they chose to identify the region happened to be the name that was invented about 3 decades later out of thin air.

An assurance from Israel is like an assurance from a pedo that they'll look after your kids for the weekend whilst you head off on a short city break.

No harm thinking about what you are posting before you post it. It will make you look quite silly.

You really are just showing your own prejudices. And you don't even realise it!!!

Does this mean the US might have to finally act on the 1976 Symington Amendment? That's the one that prohibits US aid to any country found trafficking in nuclear technology outside international safeguards.

Like Israel. Who of course doesn't have nuclear weapons so the quarter trillion dollars in illegal aid since 1976 isn't actually illegal at all.

Says the country who is all about the "rules based order".

I'm entitled to my opinion of what I think Israel is doing and how that compares to the definition of genocide. In my opinion, they are committing genocide. In your opinion they are not.

Neither of our opinions matter - the ICJ will judge the matter. After the judgement, whatever that will be, I will still have the same opinion. You may or may not have the opinion you hold today.

There's nothing intellectual or dishonest about it.

Of course, my opinion is based on the current evidence of the slaughter in Gaza. Written evidence and video/picture evidence.

I don't know what your opinion is based on - but you are entitled to it.

Not sure if you mean Iran will "cleanse" Israel or Israel will "cleanse" Iran?

There's only one of those two though that is currently before the ICJ for genocide.

And there's only one that currently in berserker mode.

There's a lot of talk about "chants". For the "chants" you and others mention, how many of them have been fully acted out?

Or is this you clutching at straws yet again to justify Israel's actions?

I can certainly attest to being at many a soccer match and having a variety of chants shouted out me - and I never once did "go home in a f*****g ambulance"

Well, this is very uncomfortable for Israel and will undoubtedly be filed in the genocide evidence folder (under "intent")

    Haaretz:

Israel has made it clear to the U.S. and major European countries that it is not acting to remove the entire civilian population from northern GazaWestern diplomats from countries told Haaretz, but added that Israel did not do enough to quieten their fears and that it is difficult to gather reliable information on what is happening inside Gaza.

One diplomat said that foreign and defense ministry contacts told them that mass displacement "isn't the plan, but it's hard to be convinced when you examine the military's actions on the ground…We are truly worried that Israel is going to commit something very dangerous that is categorically prohibited by international law."

    Also Haaretz:

A few hundred people, including many families and several government ministers gathered on Israel's southern border with Gaza for a two-day conference entitled

    "Preparing to Resettle Gaza."

At the event, far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir said that Israel "will encourage voluntary transfer of all Gazan citizens. We will offer them the opportunity to move to other countries because the land belongs to us."

Whilst the suspension of flights is clearly a safety measure, I wonder are flights cancelled because no-one wants to travel to Israel?

If so, are people now going down the personal sanction route and not just paying lip service in protests and rallies at Israel's abhorrent actions?

This will certainly compound an already tanking economy. And I'd say tourism in Israel is no more.

    Haaretz:

British Airways announced that it will suspend all flights to Israel until the end of March 2025. Lufthansa Group, which also includes Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Swiss International, canceled all flights to Israel until at least November 11. Aegean Airlines said it wouldn't operate flights to Israel until at least November 6. Spain's Air Europa and Israeli-owned Bluebird Airways restarted flights to Israel on Monday.

Israel discover a command bunker under a hospital in Lebanon.

"if you get on the wrong train, get off at the nearest station, the longer it takes you to get off, the more expensive the return trip will be."

I think that would be reading too much into it. Sure there will be people who will avoid Israel because of their actions, but there will be a lot who will avoid for safety reasons. Tourism to Ukraine has dropped off a cliff too.

Have to say, I somewhat agree with this take. I'm appalled at the innocents being killed but the people moving the needle (I.e. Hamas and the Israeli government) are as bad as each other who want to kill the opposite side and don't care what happens to innocents. I don't know how anyone who isn't closely connected to the conflict can pick a side.

12th century BCE the area was called Peleset. This eventually became palestina under the romans.

BTW, Israel was a small jewish kingdom in palestine. And the jews at the time referred to the whole area as Canaan.

And trying to argue ancient history as to why a group that hadn't lived in the area in 2000 years, should be entitled to ethnically cleanse the area and live there now, is just bloody stupid.

Theres a sad article on www.splinter.com

Israel the final solution. It's horrible IDF soldiers are being demoralized witnessing the carnage bombing of civilians no food has reached northern Gaza for 28 days the plan is to have soldiers in Gaza for years from now

If this is not proof of genocide than what is ?

No one is safe in gaza theres no safe space
