The reality is that Trump has a stable source of income, and a US presidents pension along with medical care and a reasonable expectation that people will fill his wallet with dollar bills on request so he doesn't give a fiddlers about how the majority of them survive week to week or day to day on their wages and pay their bills. All other payments he's due to make are ignored, the supplicants have to join the queue for the leavings from his table. He doesn't need a state COLA assist so the poor and needy are irrelevant to him.

without coming right out and diagnosing him with dementia, noted Trump journalist Maggie Haberman reports Trump is exhibiting some of the behaviors most notably associated with that near end of life condition

from her extensive experience covering Trump she states Trump DJ’ing isn’t unheard of but rather is something that is normally in the past only confined to secluded gatherings at eg. Mar a Lago. She also noted how confused Kristi Noem (the puppy killer) appeared to be throughout the incident, another sign something not normal was happening. Noem seemed extremely uncomfortable throughout to me and it looked like she really struggled to put on a happy face and keep it from being too nightmarish.

Haberman also points out to other instances like being at the Detroit Economic Club and denigrating the city of Detroit, or when he was at a big donor event for the American Opportunity Alliance (a Jewish American activism group) and started trashing on Jews and was disinhibited from using extreme slurs against his opponent:

“What was notable about it is that he’s at this dinner with these incredibly wealthy donors or potential donors who are members of a group called the American Opportunity Alliance. Some of them are huge pro-Israel backers. And he starts trashing Jews who don’t back him. He uses a slur to describe Kamala Harris’s mental state. It goes on and on and on like this, and he seemed to have – according to the seven people we talked to who were briefed about this dinner – it was as if he had no sense of who he was in front of or who he was he’s talking to.”

“It’s like he’s devoid of context. It’s like he’s just sort of showing up and behaving in various ways.”

She also addressed the Trump campaigns excuse to call his degenerating speech patterns “the weave”

“Look, we are used to seeing him have a discursive speaking style, but it has gotten more rambling. It has gotten more incoherent, and it’s gotten longer. That’s the other thing, is that if you look back at the speech lengths from a couple of years ago, they were much shorter when he was in office. Now, they are 75 minutes, 90 minutes. His aides have been working to try to get them down for a while. But no, I think calling it the weave is PR to try to explain why he’s talking this way.”

    https://www.mediaite.com/tv/trump-had-no-sense-of-who-he-was-in-front-of-maggie-haberman-reports-on-bizarre-rant-at-donor-dinner/

Haberman isn’t a doctor and it may not be her place to say so professionally but what she’s paying out here is a clear evidentiary case for Trump having dementia. Which should hardly be surprising he has a family history of it, his father was afflicted by it, and famously Trump would often get very poor sleep (and still does) over the last 9 years often exhibited to be posting to Twitter or a minor social media site into the early hours of the morning, sleepless, perhaps from too many diet cokes, who can say. But a sure exacerbation of dementia risk is chronic poor sleep hygiene, and Trump lately has been trying to prove he has the “stamina” to stay out of jail, er, be President again so he’s had a very condensed schedule suddenly over the past week or so and it’s clear that the incident with the music and the sway for 38, 39 minutes was something of a “sundowning” event for Trump perhaps also triggered by the context that the gathering was in a very small venue that might have been reminiscent of a ballroom at Mar a Lago or something more than it was a massive amphitheater for a political rally and, lacking the context of a rally, being in a too friendly town hall with Kristi Noem the puppy killer evidently too many of the lights went out upstairs and he just fixated on vibing out to the music that had begun playing earlier when paramedics were still handling the 2 people that fainted from how hot the venue was (which is another factor that could have contributed to Trumps mental state, agitation both from the heat itself and the disruption of the event)

Haberman notes also that music was used in his White House as a means to placate or shift Trumps mood around…

More proof, if any were needed, that trump is indeed the darling of the white supremacists and neo-nazies.

Not every Trump flag is going to be accompanied by a swaztica flag, but 99% of swaztica flags flown in America will be accompanied by a trump flag

On the whole American Nazi thing, are these lads proud their country fought against and helped defeat the Nazi's in WW2, or angry over it?

Also, what is it with these white power/confederate types and their attachment to the loser, the side that lost to their country? Is it really themselves they hate, that they can't stand being Americans? I know they're not the smartest crowd, but surely chanting "America First" while waving the flags of entities that declared war on and fought America seems a bit contradictory?

Deplorables, she called them. She did them too much justice.

Fine people though, according to Trump. I wonder what he see's in them to call them that.

He likes them stupid, and he likes their votes and NFT purchases.

Smart people make Convicted Felon Trump feel bad. It's why he claims to be one despite ample proof he isn't.

Morons like that couldn't even point out Berlin on the map, never mind understanding the sheer hypocritical state of mind in being a Nazi in America, given what occurred between Germany and America during the war.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if these bozos put American involvement in WWII down to some leftist conspiracy. That seems to be the catch cry of the modern right winger.

    Fuckwits with flags.

You could spend a couple of hours writing a treatise detailing how they have their own "stab-in-the-back" myth about how the Union "cheated".

I always find it funny that white supremacists don't represent a supreme of anything.

wow I have stayed away from watching too many of his ramblings but even for him this is insane. What is he even trying to say?

But Joe Biden is the one in cognitive decline!

I think the days of polls could/should be on their way out.

I haven't a clue the way it's going to go. Objectively, it should be a 100 Seat electoral college victory for Harris, minimum.

In reality, he could still win because we've no clue which particular segment of the population are going to turn out to vote.

I've seen social media videos of both Red and Blue voters voting early, and Red and Blue voters and activists speaking with conviction and saying that it is in the bag for their side.

Objectively, he's the worst candidate that has ever ran for the office. His record in office, his crimes and misdemeanors, his performance at his rallies, such as posted above or last night, his completely non-sensical personal policies (hundreds of % increases on tarriffs, using the army to summarily deport people, 'The WALL'), the policies of those who have his ear (Project 25), the evidence of his former close close staff who are imploring people not to vote for him. He's a clown and a charlatan of the highest order and is deserving of being obliterated. But, he won't be, because of the MAGA faithful, many of who I don't believe have the mental capacity and/or desire to assess him objectively. And I don't mind saying that, that can be a fact even though some people might not want to acknowledge it, and given the absolute evidence as to his persona and capability, anyone choosing him deserves to be judged.

I wouldn't be surprised at this point if the reports of betting leaning in his favour is another instance of grifters (the bookies) seeing his supporters are ripe for the taking and are expertly reeling them in.

    And yet, he might win….

America should have a serious conversation about how it is inhibiting itself by getting to a place where this charade can happen, but it doesn't have the bodies (individual or collective) respected enough and objective enough to have that conversation.

all the posts I have seen related to polls are based on polymarket (especially from the trump side)

Harris seems to have done very well on her interview with Brett Baier on Fox News.

And Donald is doing interviews with Glenn "soft in the head" Beck.

A good measure of how well she did or didn't do, will be what Trump posts on Truth Social/Twitter. All caps, here we go.

Reaaaaalllly retreating into the safe spaces if he's doing a Beck Interview, good lord.

This is what every American journalist should have been asking him over the last four years. It shouldn’t be coming from a voter two weeks out from the election.

It's a good way to see Convicted Felon Trump lie again. Trump ducked his question on Covid and lied about his administration and how many support him, and whined that he disagreed with his VP. Pathetic.

I wonder how long before that fellow asking him the question becomes a victim of stochastic terrorism. Too bad Univision gives out so much info.

And, it'd be awesome if that fellow gets some questions like, "Are you going to vote for Trump now?"

A: Because it's a NEW attempt to hush her for THIS election,

    https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trumps-legal-team-tried-keep-stormy-daniels-quiet-yes-rcna175887

Apparently this is a Rachel Maddow scoop who has the receipts.

This is all incidentally part of his lawyers attempt to get Daniels to pay Trump for a judgement in the case she previously lost against him, trying to extract the fee plus interest etc. - at one point, they made a grave error and admitted — in writing no less — that Trump would accept less money from Daniels, if she agreed to a brand new hush deal ie. a new hush money deal. He wanted her hushed again for the paltry sum of $30,000.

“We disagree that a payment of $620,000 would be in full satisfaction of the three judgments,” Trump’s lawyers said in a July letter obtained by Rachel. “However, we can agree to settle these matters for $620,000, provided that your client agrees in writing to make no public or private statements related to any alleged past interactions with President Trump, or defamatory or disparaging statements about him, his businesses and/or any affiliates or his suitability as a candidate for President.”

So to review, Trump wanted $650,000. He was prepared to accept $620,000 alongside a signed NDA.

When Daniels balked, Trump agreed to accept $635,000 — and he got $627,500, without an NDA.

So what’s the bottom line? As Rachel summarized on the show, “The Republican nominee for president, Donald Trump, is currently awaiting sentencing for crimes related to a secret hush-money payment he made to porn star Stormy Daniels, just before the 2016 election, to keep her from talking about him — and specifically about having sex with him.

“And now just before the 2024 election, Trump has once again demanded that Stormy Daniels sign on to an agreement not to talk about him, offering to knock off thousands of dollars off her bill if she did. Maybe this time, Trump has learned his lesson about not laundering this through his business, but he really is basically trying to do the same thing again.”

    In summation:

    image.png

It's easy to imagine if Trump wasn't a greedy prick and simply, with his bigly wealth and no need for money waived the judgement in exchange for a new hush agreement, I'm willing to bet she would have accepted, with both parties having gotten what they wanted ultimately: him to have her silenced, and she to not pay him a single penny.
