But the only people who are claiming this are just declaring it so. They haven't actually pointed out what was so bad about it. At the same time you guys haven't said a word about your boy just zoning out on stage and ranting about his racist bullshit.

Even when you make a show of agreeing with each other you can't even make up something to nitpick about her performance.

You understand these things don't help you right? Or do you genuinely believe that you're tricking people?

about 5-10% of users win on betfair, the other 90% are the idiots giving away their money to them. To all the centrists, ignore what I said, and please put your life savings on trump. Free money

Haven't watched the interview yet and might not bother. But it's quite telling that the usual wind up merchants only come online to blast off a few empty words about the interview and then cowardly retreat when they're asked to back up their empty words.

But it really doesn't matter how Harris does in any interview/conference because that type will always lack the backbone and good grace to admit it was good. No, everything has to be framed as a negative so their little bubble remains intact and the narrative that has been woven for them keeps on spinning, while they keep going back to their, ahem, "sources" to see what it is that they should be saying/thinking.

Meanwhile, Trump can stand on a stage for over half an hour doing nothing whilst music is played and everybody else looks thoroughly embarrassed to be there and it's tumbleweed time.

Harris had some good moments in the interview and some poor moments.

But what is very clear is that she wasn't knocked out by anything. This wasn't Trump's debate performance level or anywhere close to that. The big win for Harris is that she was speaking to voters who normally wouldn't pay her much attention. They have mainly got their view of Harris from Fox News or Trump.

She came across as well able to handle herself. Even going to the station shows that she has courage.

Was it a SuperBowl winning performance? No, but then nobody anywhere thought it would be. Was it a composed and professional performance? Yes. Will it change anyone's voting intentions? Hard to say. I doubt it as we only have to look at the posters coming on here with their 'car crash', and 'disaster' posts to know that there are many people who aren't listening.

But it might persuade some people who weren't going to bother to vote to go out and vote. It might sway a few that were intending to vote 3rd party to back her. It certainly didn't do her any harm. So mission accomplished for Harris.

And the biggest win is that Trump can't claim she is running scared or not doing interviews. That has been a big line of attack the last few weeks and she has removed that.

The part of the Baier interview where he brought up the Direction of the Country poll , it was Right Direction 21% & Wrong Track 70% , he says that Track follows 3 & half years of you being VP & Biden being President, You say your turning the page but this is after 3 & a half years of you being in office,

Harris replies " & Donald Trump has been running for Office…" I swear it was straight from this thread, blame Donald for anything & everything you have done or have not done,

The other key issue here is the intra-day positions where they are loading up on a specific daily outcome - e.g. Trump ahead by 4 at close today and they get a payout on that basis rather than it being about the actual election result.

So there's significant movement that has absolutely nothing to do with the actual outcome of the Election.

These "markets" are a terrible indicator of the actual outcome , far too much activity that has nothing to do with who eventually wins.

    It's the usual.

I watched a bit and Harris clearly understands what she's being asked despite the attempts by the Fox News interviewer to disingenuous pretend she demonises Trump supporters. I appreciate that she has to go outside her base to win but I doubt anyone who watches Fox News regularly will be changing their minds based on this.

These sorts of desperate comments always come across like Trump supporters trying to reassure themselves than as serious attempts to convince anyone that Harris did poorly.

”Ashli Babbit was killed. Nobody was killed.”

Speaking of car crashes he swayed his way badly through that response

Betting odds are a poor metric. I'm not worried.

It is funny the MAGA heads she got handed her backside by Fox news.

Everyone else she held her own and probably came out of it looking well to those genuinely sitting on the fence.

Very true, it is a poor answer but what else can she really say? She cannot propose anything radical People are not really looking for change, they just want things to be different somehow, but only for other people.

What do people want, as clearly they didn't want Trump in 2020 but are now claiming that what they voted for they didn't want? So what do they want?

And this is the car crash part?

Also, I wonder what the rest of her sentence is. Is there a reason you aren't posting the full quote?

What a poor choice of words…

I'll give you credit for at least picking a specific item to discuss.

Probably not a great answer , but that "Direction of the country" poll has been saying largely the same thing regardless of who's in Office for a very long time now.

So whilst she did do a bit of a "but Trump" , the point isn't actually wrong.. Trump had the same kinds of scores during his Presidency as did Obama , certainly in his second term.

It's been down in the 20's and 30's for 15 years.

    image.png

The Raw data is here and Bush, Obama and Trump all had lower lows than Biden/Harris - But no President has gotten even close to 50:50 on this for 25 years+.

Looking at the Charts , seems like only Clinton and Reagan ever got above 50% in this metric

She couldn't answer one question with any details nor could she focus on anything other than Trump. No accountability for anything!

Good night Vienna you have literally replied with a "But Trump" ,

While every President has had his lows ,they don't seem to have had a high as of yet ? Seems to be the most constant low since 1979 ……but Trump

The thing that has to be considered here is that this was not a normal interview. Sure Harris had some questions where her answers were kinda dodging and politician-esque (surprise surprise she's a f*cking politician) and she had some strong moments where she made Bret look very sheepish.

But that was basically a 10/10 in my book. Fox is the most viewed station in America and this was a game of "Dodge the gotchas" not a regular interview. It was very obvious that Bret Baier was just looking for a gotcha moment that Fox could use to strangle the Harris campaign with for the next 3 weeks(in an attempt to overshadow the clown fest, borderline dictator, sundowning Trump).

And she didn't give it to them. As evidenced by our centrist friends @MisterAnarchy , @Snake Plisken and @yourdeadwright , who have approximately sweet f*ck all by way of examples of the supposed car crash. Good news all round really.

So, on that basis, she is miles ahead when anyone watching will naturally reflect and compare it to a Trump interview?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

indeed, these folks were more excited about a soundbyte from The View the other week, but for this interview? Nothing to evidence, only cheap invectives.

Will it tell much, maybe if they still down by county

North Carolina is rural and working class in most so that'll be Trump but there is also a lot of professionals and high fliers who have moved their so they'll be solidly Harris.

An overall picture won't say who is turning out more.

Baier was only able to edit a clip from Trump, and Harris caught him out on it immediately. Meanwhile Trump: “the people on television say my dog was taken and used for food!”

OK. So then you disagree with the description of the interview as bring a car crash or a disaster?

You agree that Trumps recent appearances have been very strange at the least?

I'm not sure how you are arriving to that conclusion.
