This is key, and an encouraging sign from Georgia. Voter engagement and excitement is what will increase the chances of a Harris win.

    How does early voting work?

Do you have to register for it? Or can you just turn up and vote? And if so, what makes Nov 5th so special? Is it not just a 3 week vote?

What an interesting overreaction to the comment. People can't point out the post was weird without it being some ulterior thing?

I’m open to correction from those who know for sure, but in some elections I think states set up early voting stations, much like regular voting places, where you can simply vote ahead of the actual election day. Pretty handy for those who already know how they’ll vote and might have the option to do so during a lunch break or on the way home.

This. I usually forget it's a thing. I think I did it once for a primary one year, but that's it.

Early voting is available at the library near my residence, I might give them a visit this week and report back.

Or if whoever was choosing the songs wanted to troll Trump they could have played

given the way Trump's been conducting himself lately

although he might be more likely to be at the portal of the other place…

Thanks for the confirmation, and yes please do report back.

Damn…we’ve got our own reporter on the ground folks. We can give RTE News a run for their money :P

Gallup (rank 44th on 538) sees a +9 point swing toward Democrats among independents between their September 3-15 poll and their September 16-28 poll. What changed? "They're eating the dogs!"

Yank I worked with a few years ago gave an explanation so it might have changed.

Basically depends on the state, but it is to allow you cast your vote due to not being able to on the actual date of the election, some require a reason to vote early others don't while others don't allow any early voting.

That's a weird take. My reading of why it doesn't impact is that it's already known and understood.

They know they are weird. And it's why it annoyed Trump so much because he knew it was right.

There is no negative impact because voters at seeing it negative campaigning. Just stating the obvious

In a poll carried out by the Daily Mail for its readership [and further published over the net] on whether Pennsylvanians liked the visit by Ukraine's President Zelensky to a munitions factory in the state, the result was 42 for, 37 against with the remainder undecided. During the visit, he thanked the workers there and also Pennsylvania and the US, something which seems to have been missed by Trump and Vance, who went on to say that Zelensky should have thanked Pennsylvania and the US during their criticism of his visit to the factory with Democrat politicians.

Their criticism raises the question, given Trump's other criticism about the Biden administration assisting Ukraine in defending its territory from the Russian invaders, would Trump and Vance have accepted an invite to accompany Zelensky in the factory visit? Could it also indicate an outside factor which could sway the way voters might favour one candidate over another?

They haven't reset him properly, the brain is still not working properly today

I think, sadly, support for Ukraine has diminished overall and become much more polarized along voting lines. They have in effect become a pawn in this election.

What word would you use to describe a post that has a strange and cryptic comment on the song choice of Trump's Playlist while the poster completely glosses over and ignores the bizarre behavior exhibited by the candidate they favour?

I think if last night showed us anything, Trump has given up trying to pretend he's racing to win. He's racing to 'stop the steal' ie. set up the next grift and stay out of prison as long as possible. That's why he couldn't give a toss about answering questions on the economy coherently etc. he just wants to vibe out on Cats musical tracks and complain about 'rigged' voting. IDK what finally burst the floodgates for him, but it's like a switch has gone off with him like 'I have no chance to win this election' and he's getting ready to just ride the next 3 weeks out then claim it was "stollen" - either he snaps out of whatever the hell has happened or we are going to watch a 3 week long decline.

Something is clearly very wrong with him.

He is clearly much older. But he has aged so much the last year. Is it the stress of running combined with all the legal issues.

He no longer has any family to support him. Melania and Ivanka are noticeable by their absence.

He had it in the bag facing Biden but then everything changed and suddenly people were telling him to stop being Trump and start focusing on policy.

Why it has happened, speculation. But clearly he is no longer the Trump of 2016 or even 2020.

If he started his primary campaign in this state there is not a hope he would be selected. History and memories of what he was are all he's got.

Ya. He was always a vile man. Just the mind and body have both really deteriorated very quickly it seems.

The early turnout in GA really is impressive.

Looking forward to nerding out on this site at the weekend. 👨‍🎓

It may be part of the Trump team strategy.

Firstly, what is to really be gained from talking to, say, 60 Minutes? Trump doesn't really need the exposure. Pretty much everyone knows who he is and what he is. And since much of his campaign trail rhetoric is based on blind prejudice and childish name calling, he's not going to do well if he's asked some serious questions point blank that ask for detailed answers about policy.

Secondly, does Trump refusing to do these various things you list play well or poorly with his base or even swing voters? Is anyone basing their voting intention on Trump's blood pressure or Joe Rogan telling him about DMT? I'm not really sure if any of it makes a difference at this stage.

But what we really need to know is whether Trump refusing interviews and so forth is just based on his capricious nature or is it what I suggested in my first line? If it's the latter, it's a bad sign because it would signal that Trump's team reckon they've got the numbers without needing to give him chances to put his foot in it.

I noted a post on MSN that Trump [or his campaign] is selling a variety of packages to his upcoming "Ultra MAGA Experience" MSG rally [with the qualification that it goes ahead] the top bracket package supposedly costing close to one [1] million US$.

I can't help wondering if corporate-purchases of the packages could be written-off under taxation laws as ordinary people can't really have the cash in pocket to buy the package. The thought that people would buy the package, only to find no licence was given for the event and they'd be stuck with a person declining to refund their deposit would be appalling.

Well, the old adage of 'caveat emptor' would apply to this purchase as much as any other.

And possibly the other one about fools and their money.

    So Pennsylvania again.

Last time out, in 2022, Dr. Oz tried to carpetbag in the state for its senate seat but was beaten by Fetterman, notably after the former's embarrassing debacle at what he described as a "Wegner's" state grocer (it's Redner's) where he made a viral video about 'Crudites' (How do you do, fellow plebians?).

This time its a hedge fund CEO named Dave McCormick, you don't have to know anything about McCormick to know he's a carpetbagger chasing the State's other senate seat because, well, McCormick scored a bit of an own goal today:

“Fun tailgate in Philly today. Excited to watch the Steelers throttle the Raiders!”

Now if you don't understand the NFL or you definitely don't live in PA you may not know this, but the Steelers are definitely not from Philly, they are from Pittsburgh. And maybe that would be a nothingburger if not for the fact that Philly has its own team, who are rivals of the Steelers, the Philadelphia Eagles. It's one of the oldest rivalries in American football.

So either McCormack had no idea what team he was rooting for, or what city he was in, but he sure as hell doesn't seem to belong as Pennsylvania's next junior Senator.

Just another one of those little things that can affect turnout at the top of the ballot.

I hope you don't think that I had this feeling that calling your post "weird" would sway the election…

What is going on with the Harris campaign.

Obama said how the "brothers" aren't getting behind Kamala so Harris comes out with 100k free loans to black men and legalising the selling of weed for them.

    It's gift grub sketch territory.

Add in the clip from a few years ago recirculating about how Columbus and Italian Americans are killers.

    Untitled Image

Feels like a campaign starting to panic and fulfilling the reasons why they should panic.

That entire interview was a bizarre clusterfcuk on Trumps part.

Speaking of that, I have something rather touching to report: Jimmy Carter got his wish today to cast his vote in Georgia for Kamala Harris.

(Now, to be clear, he needs to survive to election day for his vote to not be discounted, he just turned 100 a few days ago)

If this is part of any kind of "strategy", it doesn't seem like the most intelligent one.

This close to an election his base have their minds made up, so do the Harris base for that matter. Main reason you will see candidates on the trail over the next few weeks is to get the final few percentage points to win, especially when it is this close.

Trump running and hiding is more down to either his ego, or his health. It is not down to some masterstroke stragey.

Throwing cold water on this somewhat, there was a group of middle eastern descent voters in there with "Assyrians for Trump" shirts on reportedly.

He just couldn't pronounce Assyrian to save himself.

He really burnt any bridges he had there with the state election board where it came to accommodations and reciprocations where it came to safe certification of the state citizens vote results. If his actions could have effect, they should be negative for his campaign but…. where he's concerned, there's always a but!

It's a good time now - we have more and more data every day as the early voting starts to mount up.
