Best of luck to anyone that's already had their interview or with an interview date.

Has anyone here been called for Longford location? Was on the panel after the last InterD but it closed before they got to my number, hard being so close but yet so far!!

Can I ask what might happen if I ask to postpone my interview? I have just come down with the mother of all chest infections. I am currently off sick from work and am really struggling to focus enough to get my report ready. Plus the thought of an interview when I feel like this....

I have been signed off by the doctor for 2 weeks at least.

Aw that's miserable, hope you feel better soon. I'm just seeing in the above comments that your interview is the 23rd? Is the report due this week then? Email them as soon as possible, no harm in asking what your options are. They rescheduled mine for 2 days earlier than they scheduled me because I was going to be on a flight, but I guess that was the same week of the interviews so might be different if you're asking for the following week/s. Best of luck sorting it out.

Thanks a million for the reply. Yes, the report is due in on Thursday by 9am and my head is like a bag cotton wool. Then the interview on the 23rd (which i might just be fit for). Sure I'll buzz them tomorrow and see what they say.

I am now under consideration but I am unsure how long the assessment process would take - and if I would actually get an official offer -as I heard that it would take in a very long time until I actually got an official offer. I submitted all required documents. I got interviewed in early August and was informed to be placed in a panel by the end of August.

My interview went well and there were 5 interviewers. During the interview, I was informed each area they were going to exam me, e.g. Leadership, or Decision making. Tried to answer my questions with at least a clear and strong example at my daily work in my current company would help a lot.

    Good luck folks.

Assuming you are talking about the 2023 HEO panel?

    I can't believe results still aren't out 🙄

    I know😭

I’ve heard of people getting results a week after their interview in previous interdep HEO comps. I guess it’s just the start of Batch 1 now so maybe setting up the panel etc.is taking time. They are also running an EO comp at the same time

Results are out. Unfortunately I didn't get it.. I was so close though. 16 in one of the capabilities, qualifying score is 18. Does anyone know what the appeal process is?

Best of luck to everyone!!! 🤞🏻

Sorry to hear that. Was this Dublin? I was midlands county and nothing yet .…torturous 😬

So sorry to hear you didn’t pass. It was a crazy tough interview /process by all accounts.

I haven’t heard of anyone else getting results yet. Two colleagues here waiting and still nothing.

Also got results and didn't get it. A bit shocked at how badly my scores were, didn't think it went amazingly by any means but I wasn't expecting them to be as low as they were. Maybe the people still waiting for them are successful. Best of luck to everyone else.

sorry to hear this. So tough after jumping through so many hoops.

Can I ask if the marking is similar to what they said it would be in the video?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 LD23

Yeah similar to the video, you get 2 scores per category. In this case the qualifying score for each was 22 out of 50, and 18 for the ones you could get 'potential' in, but I wonder if these numbers change depending on the standard in the batch. It doesn't give you a specific score for the presentation, just seems to be lumped in with the rest.

Just received my results. I am in the 20’s on the oom. Very shocked. Anyone any idea how long I might be waiting to hear about a position?

Same here. I suppose it depends on how much demand for HEOs there is already and how many from batch 1.1 passed, essentially making the final batch of us smaller. Hopefully demand outstrips supply at the moment 😂

I'd absolutely love if (by chance) I was offered my preferred Department!

I got my results , im 2 in oom for rural County. Surprised I actually made it through but delighted. Commiserations to anyone who missed out and good luck to all waiting on new roles!

    Well done!!

Ah, I guess folks are discussing for people who are working in Civil Service already in this thread? I am just "brand new" applying from private sector. Never worked in Civil Service previously :D.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 123 ✭✭CivilCybil

This is the thread for interdepartmental HEO in civil service so everyone who applied for this comp is already working in the civil service.

You're in the wrong thread pal, you'll only succeed in confusing yourself and/or others if you post or read advice because the competition you are in will be run very differently. This is the thread for the HEO Interdepartmental competition 2024. It is a general competition for the HEO grade for those already in the Civil Service. Compared to the ICT competition you are in the running for, the rules are different, the process is different, the expectations are different and the eligibility is different.

By all means read the thread, but if you contribute, you risk confusing people, including yourself.

Yes, I realised that. Thanks folks and I am sorry for the confusion.

Can I ask for some advice please? I'm currently off sick with a bad chest infection. I did consider asking to postpone my interview but decided to get on with it. I did the report and submitted it yesterday. Some was written before I got sick, the rest done yesterday while dying. Reading back on it today I can see there is a distinct difference between what I wrote while well and what I wrote yesterday.

My question is; should I say this at the interview? It's like the report was written by two different people 😆😆😆

Sorry to hear, what was your oom? anyone close to top of 318 get results? this waiting is starting to drive me nuts, im in high 500s so hoping to make it into batch 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16 celticlau

I had placed 10 on Stage 2. So I was so disappointed to hear the results of the interview, and to have been so close also…
