Your faux concern here has no credibility when you give a free pass to the likes of this:

The Jan. 6 select committee has heard testimony indicating that then-President Donald Trump — after rioters who swarmed the Capitol began chanting “hang Mike Pence” — expressed support for hanging his vice president, according to three people familiar with the matter.

It's shocking that some posters don't come to this conclusion.

Yes. It's shocking when posters don't come to this conclusion… about the candidates themselves… publicly wishing not even merely death by natural causes but violence against another politician.

Would you agree calling a political opponent "retarded" is completely unacceptable? Or are you still dodging that remark.

You can keep saying she's too lightweight but the reality is she's an accomplished Prosecutor and has a well established political career. Trump was entirely incapable of dealing with her in the one debate he did with her. So if you think she's too lightweight, that leads to the conclusion Trump is even lighter weight.

The reality is people like yourself seem to think it's a great idea for Trump to agree to whatever Putin wants. That's not a good politician.

So my daily paper reports that Harris is playing the health card now. As in personal health. Is her adversary healthy enough to be running for president and may he be withholding information about his health?

Wherever you stand in this I gotta say this is a bit rich coming from the democrats who denied health issues with their former candidate until literally the doctor came. Just goes to show there are no moral grounds high or low and its just a dirty game regardless who you are and dont even attempt to tell anyone otherwise.

    'hang Mike Pence'

As heard by trump supporters on January 6th

She released her full medical assessment, this does draw attention to the fact Trump isn't doing the same. I actually would say, it's pretty reasonable to expect Trump to release it given his age. I'd have expected the same of Biden if he was the candidate but he is.

And given the fact that Biden got so much flack over his health. Given the amount of nonsense Trump has spouted that makes no sense, I'd say concerns are far more valid tbh. It's pretty clear all sides view Biden as healthy enough to complete his term btw.

Not saying I agree with the post, but as trump said when he was told that the mob were going to hurt pence...

    "So what"

So releasing the medical reports on your health, which has become more or less standard for U.S. Presidents (and candidates) is "playing the health card"? It's not: it's perfectly normal and standard behaviour, and it exposes DJT's total lack of respect for the normal rules of good behaviour,

Just like DJT's missing tax retruns.

I don't really see a counter argument from you though.

There is a good article by Maureen Dowd in the NYT today. Basically saying that the Dems have to absolutely make mincemeat of Trump over the closing weeks - no more sitting up on the high ground and playing nice. I concur with the broad thrust.

You can heal the wounds when you're in the White House. In the meantime, don't bring a knife to a gunfight.

“We’re not going to change her gender or her ethnic background between now and Election Day, so let’s not worry about it,” he said. “Time is short, really short. They need to be more aggressive. They don’t strike me as having any kind of a killer instinct. They let one fat pitch after another go by. I’m scared to death. They have to hit hard — pronto.”

But it isn't reality that she was a "DEI hire." This is just an accusation you Trump supporters are leveling at her because of her race.

    More faux outrage here.

Trump and his allies weren't just asking for Democrats to release Biden's medical records. They were inventing claims of mental decline and diseases based on their own armchair medical expertise.

Pretending that Harris is doing, pointing out that Trump isn't releasing his medical record, as is common practice before the election is 1. showing a lack of transparency and 2. massively hypocritical when he and his allies made such a big deal about Biden's supposed health issues.

What you are doing is just what we keep seeing on this thread, falsely accusing Harris of doing something when Trump had actually done it and did it to a much worse degree, then falling completely silent when asked to comment on that.

Condemning someone for wishing death upon another person doesn’t need a counter-argument. It’s deplorable behaviour. It’s not up for debate.

… except when Trump or his supporters do it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,370 ✭✭✭eightieschewbaccy

So you view Trump's remarks on Pence as deplorable? I've actually never seen you say Trump has said anything deplorable… In fact, you often praise the horrible remarks. You can't just fanboy over a candidate that has made a point of being deplorable throughout both his life and campaigning. Have you forgotten that his prosecutor was a target of an assassination attempt because of him personally targeting them? He's made a career of being deplorable.

'some folks need killing' you might say.

I really hope the Harris campaign is putting this image on North Carolinians eyeballs dozens of times every day.

Everyone is well aware of what your implication was cause Trump and Co have been making the exact same implication about Harris. So you can pretend we're misrepresenting but nobody is gonna buy it. It's like when you used to say you weren't supporting Trump, nobody buys it.

Remembering when this guy admitted that Trump told him what to write on his medical cert and later had he office raided by Trump's goons...

I’m surprised Donnie didn’t release another Bullsh*t Medical Report like he did in 2016. I call it «Bullsh*t» because he was clearly involved in or influenced the writing of it. I remember it describing him as the «Fittest Person to ever stand for office of President» I paraphrase, but it was similar to that. A normal positive doctor’s report would have simply reported that he was fully fit for the role with a clean bill of health. Instead of that believeable lie, he had the throw in the whole «Fittest person ever» nonsense, which just screams of it being a lie…written for or by Donnie himself.

Harris is very clearly healthier and more vital than Donnie. She’d easily last 2 terms if called upon to do it. Similarly for Walz if something tragic happened and he had to take on her mantle.

Instead we get nothing from the dimwit who started bragging about a Dementia Test the White House felt they had to give him.

The Dude from The Big Lebowski was Trump's doctor?😕

Makes as much sense as anything else I suppose.

Does anyone know of any good resource where you can get an overview of what ads are being targeted to which voting groups in specific geographic areas?

It would be very interesting to see, for example, what the pitch to Black voters is in GA vs PA (probably quite different).

I'm not convinced personal attacks on Trump are the way to go at this stage. There are basically two categories of voter Harris is trying to reach at this stage and I'd question whether it helps much with either.

    1. Genuinely undecided voters (largely white working class): if you go hard with "How could you even think of voting for that bozo?", that's dangerously close to putting those guys in the 'basket of deplorables'
    2. Overwhelmingly Democrat-leaning but umotivated: vast majority of these are already convinced Trump is a PoS but really need a positive reason to vote for Harris to get them down to the polling both.

Probably a less exciting endorsement but Neil Young has endorsed Harris. Maybe Trump will go on a rant on him being a terrible musician or something.

There's a reason why politicians do negative campaigning: it works.

I think your points are valid but I also think the Harris campaign can and should do both styles simultaneously.

One thing that will be fascinating will be the post-election retrospectives. We will learn a lot - new voting patterns, mistakes in the polls, insider information from the two campaigns.

The response of the losing side in this election will arguably be even more definitive of the future than the result of the election itself.

Everyone, nobody, is this some sort of hive mind you are speaking of ?

It seems Everyone who isnt a staunch Trump hater is accused of being a Trump supporter.

Everyone who doesnt think Harris is the best thing since sliced bread is accused of being a Trump supporter ?

Everyone who believes that Biden was forcibly removed from running again is accused of being a Trump supporter ?

Everyone who questioned Bidens mental and physical acumen in recent years is accused of being a Trump supporter ?

Everyone who said in June, Biden would be replaced was a conspiracy theorist Trump supporter ?

Nobody objective would buy that, where is the middle ground ?

Im not sure who would be a better President, Trump or Harris, there are pros and cons for both.
