Because she’s a woeful candidate and all they have is the race card with her.
Never mind the fact people are drowning under record inflation and cost of living- I’ve said from the start this will come down to economics once people reflect how much better off they were in the trump era. We all were- prices were stable and energy affordable. Harris and her loons don’t agree with fossil fuels and think we should be reliant on windmills and solar. She’s (not surprisingly) in big trouble as she’s found out

Yep for Harris, its all about getting the vote out.

The vast majority of Trump supporters will vote for no matter what he says, no matter what he does and no matter what he promises to do. They dont care.

Harris needs to go and win this thing.

Notice how he doesn't differentiate between illegal and non legal migrants.

Invasion by migrants is fascist talk, but even if you thought it wasn't, it's fueling hate and increases the likelihood of attacks by white Americans.

You should recognise this as dangerous and take issue with it.

    But you won't.

Those early voting stats in Pennsylvania are particularly interesting, the GOP simply couldn't match the Dems on registrations for it. Wonder if it's a sign of the overall turnout.

Does Miller have that constant dead-eyed facial expression because of some unfortunate affliction or just because his body contains no soul?

You won’t get it and never will as you and the trump hate cult are purely lead by overly emotional reactions. People are voting for trump purely out of self interest and self preservation- they the radical on the other side advocating their jobs be obliterated, endless wars and even more taxation. They might not even like trump but they’re voting for him as they know they’ll be much better off under him. I don’t even live in America but I know I was much better off under his term in terms of affordability. I couldn’t give a fcuk what skin colour or gender Harris is

Apparently Trumplodyte Kari Lake still hasn't admitted she lost the gubernatorial race in 2022, nor did she in a debate yesterday. Only face to face debate for the Senate race in AZ. Gallego owned her

Oh, and of course this being an election involving Convicted Felon Trump, the GQP gotta get shooty (no one hurt fortunately)

Trump has a literal criminal record, last time around he promised a new innovative replacement for Obamacare. That never happened. He is responsible for ruining abortion rights but that's hugely unpopular with plenty of the public. His promise of ending the war in Ukraine seems to be based on a pretty questionable relationship with Putin that will lead to genocide. Then there's project 2025 which he is frightened of associating himself with. You mentioned jobs earlier but he intends to give Elon Musk a cabinet role, both him and Musk despise unions. That's gonna be great for blue collar workers.

So even if we got a very similar government to Biden's that's a hell of a lot better than the Trump fever dream that you seem to look forward to. Harris isn't gonna try to encourage greater discrimination, she's not gonna encourage hate speech or recite stories about the locals eating dogs. She's shown herself to be perfectly capable of dealing with Trump which by default means that she's far more capable of handling individuals like Putin than he is. Plus she's not the preferred leader for the likes of Putin.

Ditto on Para 2. The numbers still willing to swallow his every word as gospel is unsettling. I like the bit of hope showing in combat14's post where it mentions Trump as nearly neck and neck with Harris in the polls. It's rare to have a Trump-fan admit that Trump is behind Harris in the polls as most of his admirers here have him way ahead of her in the polls they are quoting and displaying.

Deriding Trump is easy. Pointing out his failings is different. I'm like Thomas, I'll want to stick my fingers in the wound before I believe he's done. IMO, the only thing Trump should have to do with the presidential election is the single vote guaranteed him in the constitution.

The unfortunate thing is that people in the US with votes do give a **** on what skin colour their future president has and Trump is riding on the hope it's his skin colour they like and not Harris's.

It ain't all emotion reactions about whom is voted in, it's about having a reactionary one in office instead of one who takes time to think can influence their future.

Not just you, but the rest of the world, even Putin, also have an interest in who's elected president.

Ah if you have something in common with someone you tend to defend them, either that or you might be to stupid to recognise that they are a complete ****

Full on Fascist for the next 24 days.

I think it is safe to say he has abandoned his campaign team for the loons and Nazis.

Complete U-Turn in 2016 where he completely toned down the racism and lunacy for the final few weeks.

    All good for Harris.

I have been banging the drum of Pennsylvania being the key to the election - good poll for Harris today who is +3 with the NYT/Siena polling.

It would be a fun exercise to count the amount of posts in this thread that are about Trump vs Harris. I would guess 85% to 15%.

If that's the way the coverage goes in the US, I think that's good news for Harris as Trump has so, so, so many negatives.

He certainly doesn't have the sophisticated charm of psychopath anyway…

I think anyone who's been following this election knows that Pennsylvania is pretty critical. I mean, it's possible to win without it, but it's a much narrower pathway.

While it's nice to see that the NYT poll has Harris up, it's more than a bit concerning that the polling averages show a small trend towards Trump.

    https://www.realclearpolling.com/elections/president/2024/battleground-states

    image.png

Harris was leading in the polling averages in at least four states last month, and now she's down to just one with Wisconsin. Michigan was looking safe at one stage, but Trump now nearly has a one point lead according to the polling average. However, it's important to note that this is all well within the margin of error and it's really a dead heat.

It's just that the polling trends would appear to indicate that the Harris campaign has not been able to generate the necessary momentum to get some real daylight between herself and Trump.

Two things will be needed, here. One, for all those angry young women to show up and affirm this notion that the US is really a pro-choice country. Two, they'll need to prevent any jiggery-pokery planned by the Trump team to put their thumb on the scale in the swing states. I could post the following a thousand times, and it still wouldn't be enough to underline the seriousness: -

(Michael Whatley, co-chair of the RNC)

Whatley, who embraced the former president's baseless claims of widespread voter fraud, said that the RNC "will be focused like a laser on getting out the vote and protecting the ballot," saying that they "hired election integrity directors in battleground states." Those individuals, he said, are "already recruiting and training tens of thousands of volunteers to serve as poll judges workers and observers who will act as real-time monitors whenever votes are being cast and counted."

RCP has a, ahem, distinctive take on polling aggregation.

Have a look at both 538 and the NYT and you will feel happier.

538 has her up in MI, PA, WI and NV. The NYT has the exact same.

    But every race is tight.

That early voting is looking very positive for her tbh. Republicans seem to be struggling to engage with Trump, meanwhile turnout levels for Harris are seeming high.

I’m still worried trump will win.

I would be less confident. A lot of people are voting for him because of those reasons not in spite of them. It is just awkward to say out loud. I guess the end effect will be to get more of both bases out to vote.

Though I am sure people will complain when he gets no votes in Detroit after insulting them to their faces, maybe if he goes to enough cities and insults them MAGA might think twice.

Cringe moments? You are desperately trying to make something out of nothing.

    Utterly unconvincing.

    Meanwhile in the real world:

Trump so utterly embarrassed himself at the National Association of Black Journalists he fled the scene - as foreshadow of his current running away from debates, interviews, town halls etc.
Weird you missed that "cringe moment", you seem concerned about them.
Meanwhile Kamala Harris is on 60 minutes, she has CNN Town Hall lined up.

Trump then went on to another "cringe moment" where he was caught out in the national debate peddling race baiting lies about immigrants eating pets.

Dems are so desperate this is what they resorting to-they know the sand is shifting from under them rapidly. I guess that’s what happens the fake and invented “joy” once people reflect on how empty their bank accounts have become after the past 4 years of Harris being in office. That didn’t work so wheel out the threats and guilt trips

Given the various known crimes of Donald Trump, his racist dog whistles and misogyny. I'd tend to question the moral values of anyone who is a fan of him and would happily vote for him. They're concerned about criminals if they're not American but will happily elect the orange criminal.
