If thats your glib response it proves you didnt actually read the articles and are ignorant of how Republicans go about suppressing minority votes. Voter ID is only one part of it. They only care about voter ID when they think it can stop minorities likely to vote Democrat. Such blatant tactics as having insufficient voting centres so voters would have to queue for hours - such tactics deliberately only in minority districts.

You seemed concerned before that black voters should have a choice. Now you seem happy to remain ignorant of how Republicand make it difficult for them to exercise that choice.

So was that all hypocritical nonsense?

Political scientist Eric Schickler, co-director of Berkeley’s Institute for Governmental Studies (IGS), said an “erosion of restraints” in a “racially polarized party system” has cleared the way for greater use of “stack-the-deck” strategies. “You hear people talking openly about making it harder for groups to vote — whether it’s young voters or Black voters or Latinx voters — in a way that echoes the Jim Crow South,” Schickler said. “It’s really something we haven’t seen in recent American politics. It’s out in the open, explicit.”

    ...

Trump has warned repeatedly, and without evidence, of Democratic efforts to rig the vote, and the allegations implicitly justify vote suppression.

If you're ever out west it's worth getting a trim. It's not the Trump's will interest you when he starts chatting. I'm not going to elobarate just go the next time you're over in central west coast.

This point in 2020 Biden was up in nearly double digits in swing states, Kamala is only up by one right now. So explain that?

Don't believe me, here you go

You haven't actually named the barber so would be kind of hard even with the pin point directions of "central west coast".

Non-partisan means being free from bias towards any particular political group. Seems like Michelle is not working the voters like Trump is. His fondness for celebrities at his recent rallies has been well advertised by his campaign.

Will they reveal the deep state's weather control devices?

Possibly, he has a track record of going after people who have done him over. Besides, the people who are using him as a vessel to get into power will be busy with their work, he can still play gold and tweet how angry he is about Obama, he seems to be living rent free in his head.

Look if you're ever in Clare seek that babers out. Maybe have a toasty sandwich in doonbeg and head south for about 20 minutes. Ask at the bar.

I'm not naming the barbers as I've seen 1st hand at Trump's inauguration party the kinda crazies that walk among us. I very much doubt he's a Trump supporter, he's all in on the boss and if the boss says vote Kamala he'll tow the line.

I stumbled upon his latest rally speech live on TikTok.

Hes now saying the illegal Venezuelans are gonna rob the crowds houses if Kamala gets in. Steal all their houses.

This guy is surely on the biggest windup ever and has us all sucked in, there’s no other explanation🤣🤣

I asked a straight forward question and you give me essay links, simple yes or no would have sufficed

    Aggregate polling.

    image.png

As noted previously, dozens of polling outfits have launched since 2020, many of them right wing (538 shows about 87 more organizations they've reviewed in 2024 from 2020). Some of them are complete junk, and unless specific analysts like Harry Enten are excluding them, it's affecting the average of polls, skewing them for Trump to make the race appear closer. Similarly you had Rasmussen the other week exposed for giving early polling data to the Trump campaign as well as skewing their numbers.Explain that instead.

    https://newrepublic.com/post/186444/conservative-poll-rasmussen-secretly-worked-trump-team

A major polling organization is reportedly giving Donald Trump’s campaign previews of its results before the public sees them.

On Thursday, American Muckrakers posted about emails it received detailing how the conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports, which claims to be nonpartisan, shared polling results with Trump advisers and campaign officials like Dan Scavino, Susie Wiles, and John McLaughlin. The advisers, Rasmussen, and the nonprofit organizations that pay it for polling are violating tax and election laws, according to American Muckrakers.

One of the emails details close collaboration between the Trump campaign, Rasmussen, and the Heartland Institute, which calls itself a national free-market public policy think tank. However, it’s also a 501(c)3 nonprofit and is not allowed to engage in political activity benefiting a political candidate.

As for the best poll ranked by 538, NYT/Sienna has Harris +2 in WI, +1 in MI and +4 in PA.

Anyway his presentation kinda proves the polls are generally bullshit: Clinton up 8 points in average across PA WI and MI? She lost all 3 states. Conversely, Biden won all 3 states. Conclusion: polls are fun and all, but you'd be as well off to cut the head off a chicken.

I assume you take issue with Elon Musks open support of Trump and the actions he is taking, right?

Oh I used to know a nice barber in Ennis, wonder if they're still around.. not sure how this relates to the election though?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭Real Donald Trump

Honestly, how do you see the end result of this election? landslide for Harris or close one ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,868 ✭✭✭✭aloyisious

Absolutely no problem with people carrying I/D when they go to vote as long as the law is applied correctly and without bias and NOT used in a deliberate attempt to deprive the voter of the right to vote. I'm looking at Trump's stated plans to scrap the right of US citizens to mail in their vote from abroad, and that includes US Civil and Military Service people serving abroad on behalf of the US.

How do you figure those people would be able to vote if Trump is elected in Nov and follows through with his threat to deprive them of their right to vote in accordance with the US constitution? The words from Trump above are not errors, they are the words he spoke, incapable of a misunderstanding.

I have as much clue as that chicken does. "Close" seems more likely, because an alarming number of Americans still want what Trump does.

So much relies upon turnout, clearly: what good were Hillary's polls saying she was gonna win those states if people took that as a cue that they could skip the vote and take a nap that Tuesday. I remain skeptical that Trump has really grown his base larger since 2020 but he could still win this with fewer than eg. 70M votes he had last time, if turnout overall is lower. Similarly, not all of his insurrectionists voted, by their own admissions, maybe a few more people will this time (you know, not the convicted felons)

Not sure if that's a reference to Big Mike or not but seriously how much sway do you think celebrities have, not Taylor she's become a laughing stock, I'm taking about old school boys who's fans do vote, the Boss and Neil Young etc, I could be wrong but I imagine they are quite influential. Was never really into Springsteen born a couple of years too late, as I got older I really appreciated and understood Neil's songs, he lost me with that nonsense with Joe Rogan but I still appreciate a lot of his work, just think too much time has taken away his head. I'd imagine a lot of his fans don't think the same.

Flip a coin so. You were doing well up until the last sentence or two 😄

I provided citations to articles, because otherwise on this thread, I would then likely have been accused of inventing such claims.

The straight forward answer, to cut to the chase, Trump and his campaign is racist and yes Republicans have a proven track record of deliberate tactics to suppress minority voters.

(all of this is supported by those 'essay links' previously provided)

Taylor Swift is probably the biggest music act on earth right now, what the bloody hell are you talking about?

    As for Springsteen…

Springsteen’s commitment to Democratic candidates has been steadfast over the years, as he utilizes his platform to advocate for progressive values. His disapproval of Trump is well-documented, with Springsteen frequently articulating his concerns regarding the former president’s policies and rhetoric.

He further voiced serious concerns about Trump’s leadership, suggesting that the former president lacks a true understanding of American values.

Springsteen also pointed out Trump’s disregard for the Constitution, democracy and the peaceful transfer of power, arguing that these factors alone should prevent Trump from ever returning to the presidency.

If you think they have no sway, then just ignore them :)

I mean, even 538's model is leaning coin toss:

    image.png

And again, when it in 2016 gave Trump an outside 25-30% chance, people mistook that for 'don't need to participate'

Part of this phenomenon as I see it is, as much as the polls and the models say it could be a coin toss going into the election it might have just as much of a chance of being a landslide because people don't take the vote for granted and participate in higher than expected numbers.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Current President didn't want his children growing up in a racial jungle

Trump did the First step act

    Try harder

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,859 ✭✭✭Real Donald Trump

I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens, IMHO I think he will edge it, but it certainly will be close.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,725 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

Trump has disavowed the First Step Act…

Three-and-a-half years later, few Republicans — Trump included — seem not at all interested in talking about it.

With spikes in crime registering as a top concern for voters, Republicans have increasingly reverted back to that 1980s mindset. Talk of additional legislation has taken a back seat to calls for enhanced policing and accusations that Democratic-led cities are veering toward lawlessness.

Trump himself rarely, if ever, mentions criminal justice reform when he issues statements or gives political speeches, having grown convinced the First Step Act never produced the spike in support from Black voters that he expected.

Biden is not on the record doing anything, least of all as President, to suppress minority voters.

No. The post I replied to mentioned Michelle in the following words:

Michelle is back on the trail with a non partisan voting bloc party initiative. What is it with Democratic elites and Celeb

    culture infactuation?

Having a Celeb cultural infatuation is being partisan towards the same, regardless of who the celebrity is.

Trump comes out with racist Nazi sounding drivel in the current campaign about immigrants poisoning the blood of the nation and your response is dubious whataboutery about Biden from the 1970s.
Trump and Vance current campaign pledges about deporting legal and illegal immigrants.
Trump and Vance race bait with made up racist drivel about immigrants eating pets.
Trump's campaign tweet race baiting images about immigrant mobs taking over neighborhoods - no white faces.
    Utterly disingenuous.

Meanwhile Biden served under Obama, picked Harris as VP, and now we see Obama campaigning for Harris against Trump.

You're provided with evidence of Republican suppression of minority voting and your response is obvious deflection about 'essay links', refusal to engage with the evidence so you can continue to peddle falsehoods.

Maybe take your own advice then, your words were "Try harder indeed"? Because these transparently hypocritical see no evil, hear no evil, see no evil posts about Trump's racism aren't fooling anyone.

Oh dear…do you think HAARP machines cause the northern lights?

What has happened, we are now in the scenario where people think humans can control the weather with machines…madness.
