Harris has made an absolute mess of the hurricane season. With de Santos tearing her a new one and her response to hurricane Helene it looks like George Bush and Catriona again . North Carolina, Georgia look like trump's now because of her in action. Starting to look like 2016 again for the democrats.

At the same time you just had Harris doing a round of talk shows…you know, because she can actually be civil in a conversation instead of that train wreck we observed with Donnie at that Reporters conference he went to ages ago.

    She didn't use a sharpie?

    image.png

Meatball Ron refused to take calls from Harris to discuss relief aid.

That is Harris's fault in MAGA world.

She shouldn't have commanded the scientists to start the hurricanes, stupid mistake on her half, should have just nuked them..

Nobody doubts Trump's communication skills, Harris on the other hand has major problems.

Cool, so why hasn't he used bringing peace to win the election? Instead he's talked about it like his healthcare plan which has never come to fruition. Trump will hand over territories to Russia, Russia will commit genocide in those areas. Do you consider that peace?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭ronjo

ah come on, you got to be joking with this 😂

His communicated skills are horrendous this days….. or is that what you mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,485 ✭✭✭✭odyssey06

Are you posting this from 2016? Because it doesn't bear any reality to what just happened in 2024.

Did you miss the bit where Trump was caught out peddling lies in Georgia about Governor Kemp not being able to contact President Biden?

Or Trump lying about what levels of assistance were available to try to make Biden-Harris look bad?

Or Trump visiting the disaster area while emergency services were still stretched?

How about Republican leader in the House refusing to end his vacation and and consider Democrats request to increase FEMA funding?

    Anything?

That is fair, we're confident in his ability to be incoherent. He's pretty consistent on that front.

    Really?

    Is screaming incoherence communicating?

Nothing whatsoever, which all the Republican politicians with an iota of integrity have been at pains to point out.

Alas the shameless loudmouths have been actively hamstringing the response and blaming Harris for their made up nonsense.

Genuinely one of the more disgusting things they've done, but I'm sure they will burrow new depths soon.

I think it’s clear nobody believes what was just written in that post. Just yesterday the man was rambling incoherently about windmills (again), cylinders and circles and telling Detroiters in Detroit what a shithole they live in. The great communicator!

    "Nobody doubts".

Sure, nobody doubts it because he comes out with streams of verbal drivel. There is no doubt about it.

    Trump's communications skills?

If you consider this drivel to be a sign of someone with good communications skills, it is obvious why you have such false views of Harris.

Over the past 10 months, former president Donald Trump has periodically unspooled a nonsensical tale involving a sinking electric boat, a potential electrocution and a ferocious shark attack.

If Harris or before that Biden has come out with something like this I predict you would have been all over it and harshly critical.

It wouldn't take much googling to find similar instances of drivel coming out of Trump on campaign, and yet you seem to have the ability to not come across any of it…
    Weird.

    #MEGA MAKE EUROPE GREAT AGAIN

I know there’s more of a hint of sarcasm there but isn’t a shame that he’s playing with peoples lives as a way to get into the White House.
On a wider note though, whether it’s Harris or Trump ultimately, speculation is now mounting that post election and assuming there’s a winner vs a riot, Israel is tipped to escalate Lebanon in the intervening period between Biden going and the new president being sworn in.

A lot of unpleasantness in the Middle East and beyond for the new president to deal with

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,992 ✭✭✭ronjo

Does anyone here have an idea (Trump fan or Trump hater) why Trump keeps saying "We dont need the votes, we have enough"??

I mean this question looking for genuine non-sarcastic answers. Its an unbeliveably strange thing to say and he has said it many times.

A lot of unpleasantness in the Middle East and beyond for the new president to deal with

Depends on what the new president does.

Trump has stated he will pull support for Ukraine and get Israel to finish the job.

Plunging Europe and the Middle East and by the extension the world into a gigantic crisis.

what down tick of conflict and bridge building are you referring to?

He abandoned the Kurds to slaughter, he let Russia escalate things in the Kerch Strait, he released thousands and thousands of Taliban from prisons and set about letting them take over Afghanistan. He also ripped up the restrictions on Iran going nuclear and escalated tensions with them and raised tensions in Israel by moving the embassy to Jerusalem. He helped the Saudis cover up Kashoggis murder. Do you mean platforming dictators like Kim Jon Un or something?

Trump ending the war in Ukraine in 24 hours will be about as plausible as Russia winning the war in the first 72 hours.

Can you give direct examples of trade plans between Russia and Europe

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,718 ✭✭✭paddyisreal

Harris response was woeful and will cost her Georgia and Carolina in my opinion. Drinking beer with Colbert while Florida, Carolina , georgia are in crisis shows real leadership alright ! The optics look great alright! Also de Santos comments will echo for the rest of the campaign. She has been a disaster the last week

"She has no role in this. In fact, she’s been vice president for three and a half years. I’ve dealt with a number of storms under this administration. She has never contributed anything to any of these efforts, and so what I think is selfish is her trying to blunder into this,”"

Why cant see have a beer with Colbert if, by your words "has no role in this"

You should have issues with republicans voting to abbolish FEMA etc before a disaster but are first in line to ask for funds when it affects their states

Do you have any issues with Trump telling lies about the relief efforts Paddy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,854 ✭✭✭✭silverharp

Point is Harris is the new kid on the block and she is a weak candidate , just a placeholder in the machine. If she did win it wouldn't be her ideas or personal charisma.

Yeah, I mean look at a real leader, getting people to build a fake wall out of rubble, taking them away from the actual job of cleaning the place up.

The double standards are so utterly pathetic.

    Haha.

So, when Biden was president, it wasn't really him, but his handlers... Unless of course something bad happened, in which case it was Biden's fault.

Now we have Harris, the line is the exact f**king same.

Honestly, you'd wonder sometimes if people hear themselves...

De Santos comment is either being spun differently or being misquoted. It sounds to me like he is pointing out that the VP never is involved during a major disaster. So why would you be complaining about the VP's response being inadequate?

The Trump plan for peace in our time is based on him getting sufficient votes in Nov and getting the necessary electoral college vote to confirm his win in the race. If he loses the election, his plan is dead in it's tracks. It also includes Zelensky having enough faith in Trump's word to actually forward the arms supplies Trump "promises" in his plan to Ukraine this time around. You have remarkable faith in Zelensky and Ukraine going down on bended knee to Putin and him. Given Trump's proven track record of strong-arming and cheating to get his way, which is for electoral gain again, I accuse him of Appeasement. One thing is for certain, wherever he gets it, he won't be from Ukraine for this.

Europe is in a different position to the US and Trump. Putin's war, as we know, is on Europe's doorstep without an ocean between it and them. It doesn't have much choice in it's response to the bear at the door. As for the twenty-four hours that Trump mentions is his estimate on stopping the war, bollocks… He's bullshitting if he can stop Russia's war machine in Ukraine in that time space. Anyone who accepts and promotes Trump's word on this is a sap.

Given that Europe, and NATO, have their own appeaser in Viktor Orbán in Hungary, sticking the knife in it's back on behalf of Putin playing politics because he remembers what Russia did in invading his country in 1956, Europe's leaders have no cause or reason to resign over Trump's made-up appeasement scheme. Et tu, Orbán.

It's good to see some-one other than our Harris was sitting in at his meeting with Biden. Tell us, what did you hear there?

Except when they are? A month ago republicans are on record complaining she was not involved enough in hurricane prep.
