Trump has set the bar of what is needed/enough to become a president.… Kamala will be fine... even the Island boys could do 4 years in the white house

“I think he’s betraying a quite stupefying ignorance that makes him frankly unfit to hold the office of president of the United States.”

    Guess who said that?

Its hard to believe that any adult would say that, much less one that hopes to be president of the US. 'Petty' hardly describes it.

Exactly…. and some dude was even claiming world leaders respect Trump 🤣

There are multiple stories on that - If they needed him to pay attention they had to keep it to less than a page and to make sure his name was mentioned throughout the document, because if it wasn't about him he simply tuned out.

"Testimonies from World Leaders" and then you quote Boris Johnson as the only example.

Boris Johnson , a laughing stock in his own country and everywhere else , a man with his own "awkward" history of secret meetings with Russian spies

And that's who you choose to use to try to suggest that Trump has even a shred of "respect" from World leaders outside of Charlatans and Dictators (and wanna-be Dictators).

Imagine trying to claim World Leaders respect Trump and you pull up a quote from Bojo Johnson to prove that claim.

Malcolm Turnball was PM of Australia when Trump was in office… and is scathing in how Trump is basically Putin's lapdog, you can see his own words in the youtube clip below. Basically Trump hero worships Putin:
“When you see Trump with Putin, as I have on a few occasions, he’s like the 12-year-old boy that goes to high school and meets the captain of the football team. ‘My hero!’ It’s really creepy…the creepiness was palpable”

America first? When America didn't have enough covid test kits, Trump secretly sent some to Putin.

Also: "Donald Trump is particularly transactional."

What lives would be saved? Do you think deaths only occur in war and not under the kind of occupation Russia would inflict on Ukraine?
    Have you already forgotten Bucha?
Or is that when you just stop caring and wash your hands of it?

Trump would probably have declared war on Ukraine with Russia. Can I prove it? No but it's a heck of a lot more likely than whatever drivel Boris Johnson is peddling. This is a man who somehow got defenestrated by a party of loyalists in a few years.

Boris Johnson? The man who spearheaded the UK's greatest act of economic hari-kari, that Boris Johnson?

Or do you mean the world leaders who openly laughed at him for bringing his daughter to meetings while extracting what they wanted due to his extreme narcissism?

Another day and another total mind fantasy by a trump supporter.

he (Trump) gave the javelins to the Ukrainians where the Democrats didn’t, right?

This bit is patently false gibberish, so I would advise taking the rest of his commentary in the same vein.

In fairness- her lack of appearances in public with him over the last year is Shirley exhibit a?

It's obvious Harris is a weak candidate and she is not exposed to the press in a way that Trump is , the press covering for her is a weakness in their system. It will be funny to watch if her poll numbers slip and the media have to explain it in such a way that doesnt make themselves look silly.

We don't have the exact specifics but Vance gave us some details, they go on in this report to say Zelenskyy won't agree, I'd disagree as if there's not another $180 Billion+ on the way he'll have to agree to something, Europe can't afford to make up that shortfall in funding.

Europeans leaders should resign if they let Trump own this, complete egg on their faces if the big bad orange man is the one to settle it in 24hrs.

It's quite something to see our own government not pushing for peace in Ukraine as they're bleating on about Israel every other minute when in fact it's Ukraine having the biggest effect on us. Harris goes to meet Biden and they don't chat about making peace in Ukraine, seriously how stupid is he.

The press are covering more for Trump, sane washing his verbal drivel.

Harris went on 60 minutes, Trump ran away.

Harris was up for another debate, Trump ran away.

How is that the press covering up for Harris?

If the press is "covering" for anyone, it is Trump.

It is obvious you aren't applying remotely the same standards to Trump as Harris, in fact it is obvious you apply zero standards to Trump.

How do you mean she's not "exposed to the press"?

Trump is the one refusing to do interviews.

Imagine using Boris f**king Johnson as a character reference!

You're dodging the question, how is 60 minutes editing interviews undemocratic? I'm pretty sure you'll find they've edited every interview of every candidate over the years. On top of that, they've posted additional content online including the supposedly controversial cuts. 😂

You don't have specifics. You can't say how Trump will end the war. So how do you know that Trump will end the war?

If Trump ends the war by stopping support to Ukraine and allows Russia to finish it's invasion, would you consider this a good thing?

I wonder does it resonate at all with pro-Trumpers here, who, when asked a question that makes them uncomfortable so they don't answer, or are provided with a fact they can't rebut, that perhaps, perhaps they should reconsider their position?

How is it that they can just ignore what was said, and come back a day or so later with another point, which is met with the same response.

You can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into.

Proof positive if someone can't articulate and respond to basic challenges to their position, that is entirely discrediting of the position and it is a garbage claim.

I'm fully aware that there's no convincing people. I'm just trying to get them to expand on their points beyond the sound bites.

    I don't think they can.

He's already admitted that he doesn't have any idea how Trump would actually end the war, yet is convinced that he magically will somehow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,360 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

I know it cost money to keep a war going do you think weapons grow on Trees. Cut off the money and it's over. Is that not obvious? Vance said they shouldn't be giving Ukraine any more money.

Zelenskyy will walk away with money from the deal but this time it'll be for reconstruction not destruction.

Sorry that's not an answer to the questions I asked you.

Are you avoiding the questions for some reason? If so, why?

How disconnected can you be from reality when you believe Trumps claim he can end wars in 24 hours?

He is not Jared, who brought peace to the middle east. Didn't he?

    So hand victory to Putin?

Explain how that is a good thing for the world?

Explain how handing over Ukraine to Russia is a good thing?

Explain what you think Putin would do to Ethnic Ukrainians were he simply handed the country?

Because he can't see a way to personally profit from supporting Ukraine , he doesn't want to do it.

All Trump thinks about is money - He has no concept of honour, decency , morality or anything else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,526 ✭✭✭Economics101

If you meant cut off the money from both sides, there might be some logic to your argument (leaving morality aside). But your final sentence on Zelenskyy walking away with money for reconstruction is just about the most delusional thing you have aver ported. And that's saying quite a lot.

Indeed. And here we have a gaggle of Donnie's fan-boys feining dread and concern about Harris' abilites in the role when it comes to national security, while their chosen Dimwit-in-Chief has to literally be managed like a 5-year-old just to take his security briefings.

Trump fans don't require facts. Facts don't tend to matter when it comes to faith, and he's their God now, so no facts are required.

It's why they won't debate or listen to reason. They have faith, and faith will sustain them, and guide them into the arms of Trump, so no debate or reason is required.

"Hurricane's are caused by Democrats". - "Do you not know how powerful hurricane's are, and that the combined efforts of humanity couldn't muster a hundredth of it's power?" - Don't care, Democrats have caused it". It's the type of demented thinking that's among the Trump faithful.

It's the evangelical playbook. Make people feel like they don't need reason, don't need facts to dissuade them form the path, that as long as they have faith, then everything will be fine.

To be fair it's a powerful tool. It offers you hope, says everything will be fine, you're going to be part of a group, you belong, you're one of us, and your faith will be rewarded. There's a reason why religion is popular and cults exist.

But it requires that you just don't question things or think for yourself to make it work.

And Trumpism is a cult, with the Tangerine Tyrant as God. Logically speaking, no-one would vote for a rapist, racist, family ignoring, repeatedly bankrupt, stupid, ignorant, compliment-me-to-play-me-like-a-fiddle, compulsive liar, mentally degenerative conman, but when it becomes intertwined with religion then it doesn't matter because they have faith, and faith will sustain them.

It would be a disaster for America, and the world, should Trump win again. Not because of Trump, who's a rambling mess at the minute, but because it will show that the stupid/religious axis now controls America.

On the flip side, him winning might just see the end of America, and if it does it might just force Americans to confront the reality of their decline into moronic religious subservience.

Calling them good folk or degenerates is all the one to them, making the richer or poorer doesn't matter, they have Trump to guide them and believe them, and that's all that matters.

Either way, you can't reason with pride in stupidity turned into blind faith, which is what essentially MAGA is. There's no point in trying.
