I know three people now who have switched, no issues and all went smoothly with porting too.

They cancelled mine the other week, but now i'm being chased for the 15euro bill i didn't pay, i have a feeling i'm going to continually have 15 added to my account each month.

I look forward to them chasing me for payment.

I just rang Sky to cancel, no way I'm going into a 12 month contract with them, if it was 30 days I might chance it.

Cancelling took 45 minutes on the phone, I total I spoke to 7 advisors who each said they would transfer me to the right person, it's a nightmare! I'm in the market for a new Broadband provider but I think Sky is gone off the list of contenders!

BB is ok if it's siro as when you change out, it just cancels the account. I've never had any issue.

Joined Sky. Complete disaster with how slow the network was compared to Vodafone. Very disappointing. Not committing to 12 months of this.

Switched back to Vodafone in 10 minutes in store. Got confirmation of account cancellation straightaway from Sky by email.

Vodafone worked literally as I walked out the store.

Trying to switch last night online with an esim failed.

Let others be the Guinea Pig.

Unlimited everything means nothing if I immediately started using my phone less everywhere.

Did you cancel or port out? I see the mobile account is still active on mysky but no SIM.

Ordered mine Friday, arrived today Wednesday. Filled out all the info online and successfully ported. Waited two hours and inserted sim. Updated data info as instructed. Restarted phone. All very straightforward and simple. Better speeds than former provider Vodafone. On 5G permanently and everything loading way faster. Tested 2FA messages successfully. Absolutely no problems and very satisfied with my decision to switch.

It shouldn't be any quicker unless you were on a 4g only plan on Vodafone?

Was your phone originally a Vodafone supplied unit? If you go to Settings/connections/Mobile Networks, do you have a toggle switch for VoLte?

Did you try to switch to Vodafone with an eSIM? If so, I wonder is that what caused mine to go tits up?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 406 ✭✭Pikasso

Yes. Vodafone supplied S22 Ultra. Toggle switch for VoLTE only showing for sim 2 which Three sim

I'd be curious to see your sim status for each sim while on a call. See if it's LTE (4g) or Edge Protocol (2g)

2FA not working for me, what number to call?

This is the WhatsApp chat number, 0818 716 051, it might also get you to the call centre.

Been with Sky now a couple of weeks after porting from GoMo. No issues whatsoever and very happy with them so far. Much better speeds on 5G and everything unlimited. In Greece currently and although it took about 10 minutes or so to connect to a network here, everything working fine, got a text from them too saying welcome to Greece etc.

Great to see this kind of offering shaking up the market.

Tried PAYG esim order online to switch back as I was on the night of day 13.

Vodafone order kept cancelling post order online. Tried twice. Next day in store I'd a choice of porting back to Vodafone with esim or sim. Never needed to speak to Sky at all.

All future Sky Bills changed to 0euro on their portal that day.

I was thinking of switching over but reading of the issues when connecting when roaming is putting me off. This year on holiday, I drove from France to Germany through Belgium and The Netherlands in one day and about 2 to 3 minutes after crossing a country border, I automatically got the "Welcome to XXX country" without me doing anything. I tend to do road trip type holidays rather than a resorts. I don't want that faff of changing settings when driving on the road. I'm currently with Eir but thinking of moving.

Switched over my inlaws today. They were on 2 SIMOs with eir under the same account. I selected multi-line with Sky but the transfer kept failing. I changed it to single line and it went through straight away.

However, Sky are saying the bill is already due for payment when I've only just activated the sims! Is this normal? Ordered a few weeks ago but only just activated the sims

If you are with Eir just switch to GoMo. It's 5 euro cheaper than the Eir prepay plan with the exact same plan.

Yes the bill you just got will be from today until around this time next month. They bill for the next month rather than the previous month.

Joined recently from Voda and have had no issues. Does seem like many who joined in first two weeks didn't have the best luck, but seems like its getting there now

Google search showed some people in this thread a few pages back talking about using Visual Voicemail - anyone know how I can enable this on my iPhone 13? thanks in advance

They were mistaking it for iOS 18’s Live Voicemail unfortunately.

Legend, thanks for that! Completely forgot Sky bill a month in advance. They don't care anyway since their bill is gone to €20 from nearly €60 with eir!

Switched to Sky mobile last week previously GOMO - Kilkenny based coverage was shocking with Sky and kept loosing it on m9 so was a no from me. Unfortunately new iPhone is esim only so couldn't go back to GOMO until they get their ass in gear and bring it out so off to Lyca mobile for 10euro a month for unlimited calls, text and data with esim switch over in less than 10 mins and Sky mobile bills showing as 0 for future and a credit next month.

Did you switch 5G on, as seems you have to do manually sometimes - am in same area and have no issues with coverage

Did anyone go into a Sky store and ask about the €15 a month plan?

I was in Mahon Point in Cork yesterday so called into the Sky store. When l asked about the roaming data the manager told me it was capped at 80 gb a month. I can't find it in the terms and conditions though 😕

When I decided to leave Sky Mobile because of their issues, I tried to switch back to Vodafone. However, the eSIM took too long to set up (partly because it was the weekend), and my 14-day cooling-off period ended on Monday. So, I got an eSIM from Three instead. My 28-day top-up with them (20 euros) will run out on October 18th.

This past month has been really frustrating. The Three network is terrible—I usually get only 1 or 2 bars. Even when I have full bars with 5G, my speeds are just 5 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload. My battery drains quickly, and the iPhone battery app shows "Poor connection" next to cellular and that's the thing that drains the most battery.

When people call me, there’s constant static and frequent dropouts. I knew Three has worse coverage than Vodafone, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. I don’t understand how people put up with Three, 48, Tesco, Lycamobile, or Virgin unless they don’t realize how poor the service is. I really need good cell service since the Wi-Fi at work is awful.

I’m thinking about switching to GoMo as they offer everything unlimited for €14.99 (as per their new T&Cs). Can anyone weigh in on their recent experience with GoMo? If it's bad, should I just pop into a Vodafone store and grab a SIM card there?
