    I'm a blood donor. I've gotten messages Tuesday, yesterday and today asking if I can make an appointment for a clinic on 13th October. Declan is being very unfair, as he's a new donor. I've never had a problem with the system.

    He does have a point though in fairness. They have gone to the media seeking donors urgently. Hes willing to step up and is finding nothing but blocks in the way. I understand they have systems which need to be followed but maybe they need to change the media campaign to reflect this.

    I was talking to a fella who used to follow Liverpool around Europe in the 70s and 80s. He recalled how they would pay you for blood by the pint in Germany. Scouse lads would queue up a few times to get some beer money for their trips
