I don’t disagree with you on the alternative to Harris / but she still has to win this race first - and what she’s currently doing isn’t developing a lead so she may need to do something different -that’s what a number of Harris fanatics aren’t getting and just instead reply with abuse

    Christ you are hard work..

Yes, it's close , no Harris isn't perfect which is exactly what everyone has been saying but apparently that's not enough for you.

But not a single one of Harris' failings are sufficient to justify not voting for her or voting for Trump instead.

What exactly is it that you want here??

people have got used to long unedited interviews and podcasts etc. its the legacy format that needs to change

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

so when you told a poster their ability to read was impaired that wasn’t a slight? Alright then.

of your own ‘clouded ability to read,’ then, the 2nd thing you bolded in your extract of the article though wasn’t actually said by anyone interviewed for the piece and doesn’t contradict Quin_Dub’s statement, and the first bolded bit is entirely in-line with what Quin_Dub stated. How do you say, “I think you need to read it again.” Too quick to have to be right perhaps, in “shutting down” anything you see as fanaticism for Harris?

You've claimed it's undemocratic, how exactly? They even put the edited out pieces online. You were also pointed to how Fox and others have done edited interviews of Trump...

Respectfully though, "developing a lead" is nigh-on impossible. It's why the swing states are swing states. Unless something significant happens, all both sides can do is try their best not to lose voters at this stage. Both candidates have set out their stalls, and they're now just focused on pure campaigning and media blitzing. There's nothing really different to be done, nothing which doesn't also carry significant risks of alienating or losing some voters.

    ”Harris fanatics” … “abuse”

Where is the self awareness? You abused by your own goalpost a posters reading ability because you thought they were a Harris fanatic.

I dont think she is perfect but in my opinion she is currently doing enough to win this race. I havent seen really anything she is doing very wrong and again (imo) avoiding catastrophes and pushing forward doing interviews at a rate she is will be enough.

I’ve been following her for some time and that’s what she is. She readily admits it herself- so no need to take my word for it just listen to Harris herself- she advocates sex changes operations for so called trans inmates- if this isn’t a far left looney tune I don’t know what is …..

Maybe it'll all go pair shaped and they'll have the rally at the Madison Square Garden Centre instead. Ya know, like when Rudi held his presser at the…ahem…"Four Seasons".

If Trump manages to win in November, prepare for that to become much, much, worse.

So inmates should not receive medical treatments? Or is it just that it is transgender people that you have the issue with?

RCP numbers here. DT has a sizeable lead (52/46) now since the weekend. A more granular breakdown below.

These aren’t medical treatments as you well know- they’re indulgence of mental illness and/or a scam to garner easier prison treatment. As you know damn well

And your view of it being a mental illness is largely rejected at this stage...

“again (imo) avoiding catastrophes and pushing forward doing interviews at a rate …”

I’m on the same page on that aspect - it’s the polls not moving that’s making me question just how well she’s actually doing in these interviews - is she landing the right message with the right people or has she simply maxed out on who will vote for her at this point?

which is strange (and worrying) considering the New York Times poll

in your view then has she maxed out her voters? I certainly had the “steady as she goes” approach in mind for her from the beginning and praised her for it - essentially because she wasn’t a seasoned speaker and needed to just take it cautiously - but now I’m just thinking is there something more “brave” she needs to do or say?
moving away a bit more from under the shadow of Biden? Telling people what the positive future will hold?

I just think she’s being too vague and too cautious - these swing states aren’t easy obviously .

RCP is a poll aggregator. I’m unclear if their numbers aren’t askew from the dozens of right wing “polling” outfits that have launched since 2020 (or skewed with biased pollsters like Rasmussen). As an aggregator RCP is not modeled on 538

with the manner in which NYT has been “sanewashing” Trump I wouldn’t assume they are playing a level hand.

just yesterday they published a headline whitewashing trump’s comments about immigrants having bad genes, bearing with a slight whiff of the Nuremberg Laws, as some kind of intellectual fascination with genetics

    Reporting on the comments, a

NY Times’ headline read: “In remarks about migrants, Donald Trump invoked his long-held fascination with genes and genetics.”

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/headline-lunacy-ny-times-ridiculed-for-framing-on-trumps-eugenics-remarks-as-intellectual-curiosity/

While the Trump campaign tried to soften the blow by clarifying that the former president was “clearly referring to murderers, not migrants,” the backlash was immediate and intense. Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough called the comments “kind of fascist” and compared them to race science pushed in Nazi Germany.

seemingly desperate for a growing base of readers, the New York Times has really tried to fluff up their approach to reporting Donald Trump over the last few years, especially as he spent much of the last 10 years blasting them as “the failing New York Times“ which no doubt did an incalculable amount of arson to the readership, both because of direct readers turning away from the New York Times as a result of that and people in political discussions, turning away from them as a source of news because what is the point of citing the New York Times, some of the people i.e. Trump supporters that need to hear the information as part of a debate would reject it out of hand because it came from… The New York Times. Incidentally, a similar phenomenon has been happening with CNN as it has shifted its coverage gradually over to the right to try and claw back It’s former position.

for much the same reason, I wouldn’t necessarily trust that the New York Times is not weighting its polls in such a way to make its readers think the race is closer and more sensational than it really is.

So it turns out it wasn't "the storm of the century" which Biden said .

This is the betting aspect though as opposed to polls AFAIK (open to correction).

I wouldn't say maxed out as such, but you just have to look at the increase in Dem voters from when Biden was running to now. She's done a huge amount to bring back Dem voters or those who were waivering or just ambivalent because of Biden. Sure, the very fact that she's not 80+ and slowing down with age, it's hard to essentially credit her for that. But she has undoubtedly re-energised a lot of the Dem base and the only reason things are still neck and neck in the swing states is because of the work she's put in.

But what more can she do? She's doing local and national media interviews. She's being pretty strategic with where she's doing those interviews with regards those demographics. And her political messaging is absolutely more focused on a positive future. She also can't step too far out of what Biden did because she was part of that administration, so even if she played no part in Biden's decisions it'd be a terrible move to start trying to distance herself from it. As for being too vague and cautious, she's spoken at length on most of her policies. And this is why yourself and others tend to come into criticism when you make points like that; why are these points being raised only about Kamala when they apply significantly more to Trump. Trump's childcare policy is "We're going to add tariffs to cars from China". His healthcare plan is "We have a concept of a plan". His positive future is "THEY'RE EATING THE DOGS!"

Regardless of Trump, any wild shifts in tone or strategy at this stage, for both candidates, you risk losing voters. Less than a month to the election, you cannot risk rocking the boat with the voters you've already won. This close to the election, it's about capitalising on your opponents mistakes.

a lot more people would have died had they not evacuated - very hard to determine how a hurricane will behave and where it will go when it reaches dry land - it would have been irresponsible not to warn people the way they did- there have still been deaths and total destruction of certain areas -

That was from their betting odds. RCP polling numbers breakdown for today are below.

people died, what is this senseless need to score points with myopic one liners?

A bit dramatic as usual to call it the storm of the century.
