Exactly OH, the groundwork has been lain for objection to the vote, to drag out the process and throw it to partisan courts. That accelerated after the red wave turned out to be a muddy puddle in the mid terms. The election and the count cycle next month really is a huge danger.

In Georgia at least thankfully the Court system is holding up and they have rejected all the attempts to put in place the tools to allow Trump to subvert the results.

But the pressure that will come if Trump loses again , particularly if it's a narrow loss in one or two States will be enormous.

Trump was doing pressers today, he doesn't look like he's having a good time reacting to the economic numbers (nice denial of reality)

    image.png

But also… why is Trump hoarding all those supplies? For a self-promotion, a photo op, a facade. Those diapers aren't doing some mother in need any good sitting there for his photo op. That box of Chick Fil A is getting cold. This is about as bad a look as his little brick wall dais the other day, taking energy and attention away from disaster victims and disaster areas for PR. These supplies should be going out to people without delay, and we'd be saying the same thing if any other POTUS did something so distasteful as waste the time it took to stage this little display. I don't recall Bush, Biden or Obama doing something so narcissistic, they each spent time building upon relief efforts, not toilet paper or brick play-castles.

The Trump watch scam is fascinating. The disclaimers say that the watch may not resemble the ones seen on the website and product images and there's no guarantee of any delivery.

This is a way to anonymously donate $100k to Trump and you can be sure those watches won't ship. It will save the donor the bother of throwing them in the trash. If someone insists, they'll probably be sent some cheap piece of trash with "Trump" scrawled in marker on the watch face.

Also, having Donnie flanked so closely by boxes of nappies you can’t help but be reminded of his alleged use of the adult variety. You’d almost wonder if someone placed those boxes onto the pile right there so that they’d be right beside Trump and potentially embarrass him. If someone did do that on purpose, I doff my hat to them.

It has the makings of just the next new scam, a la Trump University: get a cash injection, then spend years and a fraction of the illicit gains fighting the case in court at every level and filing every motion and taking every argument to the nth-squared degree.

I'm pretty sure this is a two-tier scam. The watches for a few hundred bucks are there to bilk his idiot followers of their hard-earned cash and the $100k watches are there to facilitate anonymous donations from well-meaning international fascist Trump supporters/ultra-rich Oligarchs who are looking to buy a piece of him.
Of course there will be a few unfortunate domestic Trump supporters who are not well off and who will fork over their nest-egg, emergency healthcare fund, children's college fund, Granny's inheritance or mortgage their own home in order to buy one of the super collectable $100k watches only to be given a cheap piece of tack after much insistence that is at best worth $2k. Such idiocy deserves bankruptcy.

Trump is finally getting the Biden Treatment as reporters take seriously the signs of his cognitive decline, the slurring, etcetera

They note his rally speeches now last an average of 82 minutes, compared to 45 minutes in 2016. He also uses curse words 69 percent more frequently than he did in his first presidential campaign — which Baker and Freedman said “could reflect what experts call disinhibition.”

    https://www.mediaite.com/news/ny-times-publishes-deep-dive-calling-out-trumps-cognitive-function-he-often-seems-confused-forgetful-incoherent-or-disconnected-from-reality/

NYT also illustrates how his mind seems to have regressed to a certain period of his prime:

Mr. Trump frequently reaches to the past for his frame of reference, often to the 1980s and 1990s, when he was in his tabloid-fueled heyday. He cites fictional characters from that era like Hannibal Lecter from “Silence of the Lip” (he meant “Silence of the Lambs”), asks “where’s Johnny Carson, bring back Johnny” (who died in 2005) and ruminates on how attractive Cary Grant was (“the most handsome man”). He asks supporters whether they remember the landing in New York of Charles Lindbergh, who actually landed in Paris and long before Mr. Trump was born.

He seems confused about modern technology, suggesting that “most people don’t have any idea what the hell a phone app is” in a country where 96 percent of people own a smartphone. If sometimes he seems stuck in the 1990s, there are moments when he pines for the 1890s, holding out that decade as the halcyon period of American history and William McKinley as his model president because of his support for tariffs.

still a great possibility he has a major or several major senior moments this month as the pressure to win reaches peak

This video neatly illustrates what Harris is up against. This woman is well aware that Trump is a piece of shizzle, she says she's done with him, but in the end she can't vote for anyone else.

Now in the clip the interviewer says "Biden" , so let's hope Harris might be a better alternative for her unless she can't get over the race issue.

It's almost like she has a Grá for him, which may explain why he's still being supported by women.

Doubt if mothers and daughters are supporting Trump given his stance on abortion, basic human rights are been taken away from them by a rapist.

Stormy's recent evidence at the fraud trial will resonotate with women, Trump was always between the exit hotel room door and her, there was a bodyguard posted outside, Stormy took the easy option, laid him, got out quick.

Regretfully some are, beguiled by him and his honeyed words into believing he's God's gift to them and the US. Tune into Fox News for the honest spoken words of it's female news and interview hosts about womens' right to have body autonomy.

"Before we begin, I would like to tell you that there’s a very violent hurricane that’s coming down the line. And it’s a Category 5, which is something that I’ve never heard, a Category 5 actually coming on to land, but it looks like it’s going to, and right smack in the middle of Florida. Nobody’s seen a line like that, and it’s heading there quickly." - Donald Trump

    … he is losing it. I can't.

During his Presidency, Hurricane Michael, a category 5, made landfall in no uncertain terms, hitting the panhandle of Florida with peak winds of 160 mph.

    image.png

There is also Dorian, the culprit of Sharpiegate, however one could argue the eye of that hurricane itself did not make landfall put the storm itself certainly did as it rolled up the east coast - not only defying Trump's ad hoc projection model, but NOAA's too. I will also take for granted Trump has no regard for the Bahamas, so Dorian making landfall there wouldn't even make it to his register.

"A new report from Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse finds fresh evidence the Trump White House tightly controlled the FBI investigation into the sexual assault claims against Brett Kavanaugh.

The Trump White House never authorized the agency to independently probe the assault allegations".

This was abundantly clear at the time and yet, when we commented as such on here, his supporters ridiculed the idea.

Yet another claim that was denied and turned out to be true.

Bob Woodward's new book makes the claim that Trump has had at least 7 calls with Putin since leaving the Whitehouse. Surely a violation of the Hatch Act? (Another one to add to the list).

According to a report by the New York Times, the book describes one scene in which a Trump aide was ordered out of Trump’s office in Mar-a-Lago so the former president could conduct a call with Putin.

The unnamed aide reportedly said that the two may have spoken a half-dozen times since Trump left the White House in 2021.

A claim is also made that Trump sent Putin some Abbot diagnostic machines early on in the pandemic.

In War, Woodward writes that while the former president was in office, Trump “secretly sent Putin a bunch of Abbott Point of Care Covid test machines for his personal use”.

Putin was reportedly anxious about falling ill with the virus, according to the retelling of Woodward's book in US media.

The report adds that Putin had asked Trump not to publicly share that he had sent him the tests, fearful that it would damage Trump's reputation.

“I don’t want you to tell anybody because people will get mad at you, not me,” Putin reportedly told Trump, according to the book cited by the Times.

Trump reportedly said: “I don’t care. Fine.”

Trump has denied Woodward's claims in an ABC interview but, I have little doubt that Woodward has impeccable sourcing.

As an aside related to Woodward's book. Some are running with Biden's sweary assessments of certain world leaders as a mark against the man🤨 He's spot on and the yank pearl clutching around swearing really is hilarious at times.

An addendum to the above and in news that should surprise noone after Trump's strident denial of supplying Abbot diagnostic machines.

And regarding any potential calls, as the report here alludes. If they happened no doubt Russia has the tapes. The thing is, if those calls did happen? The NSA has the tapes too.

While asking an audience if they believe Trump had ever changed a diaper in his life, criticizing his bonafides as a parent in contrast with his policies, someone off mic shouted to Obama that Trump wears diapers. Obama replied, “I almost said that!”

Obama knows how to play head games with Trump and sure that same night Trump was ranting about awards Obama received as president, Obama seemingly knows how to unravel him

Mark Milley, Trump's former Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff calls him - "fascist to the core". An entirely accurate assessment.

Mark Milley to Bob Woodward: Trump “the most dangerous person ever. I had suspicions when I talked… about his mental decline & so forth, but now I realize he’s a total fascist. He is now the most dangerous person to this country… A fascist to the core.”

This popped up in my "on this day" from 2020. It is perhaps, given the indications that Donnie defecated himself mid-speech again, the most fitting illustration of Trump that I can recall.

Much as the Baron oversaw the fetid decay of his body, his morality and his house in his effort to gain ultimate power? So does Don!

I dunno that Kamala is the Lisan al Gaib 😉 but she is certainly the very best choice for the US right now.

    here's 1 to mull over

I gave context to what the link what highlighting, Trump failing to pay his bills again and again. What's yours about? Or indeed, have you anything to counter the story of trump continually stiffing people he employs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,496 ✭✭✭sonofenoch

Judges questioning the law grounds on which NY's AG is basing a prosecution as against a city seeking a payment from Trump as agreed for services rendered. The difference is visible.

even Trump supporters are admitting his remarks are getting nastier and more juvenile.

Trump hasn’t released his health records but speaking at a reduced reading level and disinhibition (eg. Calling your opponent “retarded” on the political stage) can all be signs of onset dementia.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,817 ✭✭✭✭banie01

Not all Trump voters are Nazis but, all Nazis are most certainly Trump voters. This is where "good people on both sides" leads. This is where Miller, Bannon, Evangelical support for an "imperfect vessel" and Christian nationalism leads.

I love how much people care about the american election and don´t give a flying fck about how their own government are screwing them and their children.

Its compunded by the many "how stupid are the americans" attitude, and all the while being brainwashed into the "look over there" technique.

If Trump gets in, if Kamala gets in, nothing will change.

    Dick Cheny supports Kamala Harris

    Donald Trump is Donald Trump.

Stop pretending either result will make an iota of difference.

So to take one metric that applies to how we will house people here in Ireland, if Trump wins he'll force Ukraine to ceed the lands gained by Russia, and leave the rest of the Ukraine unarmed. In turn that will displace a lot more people out of the area and, inevitably, force some here. Do you think that will improve or dimish the housing stock here?

One only has to look at the American withdrawal, under trump, from Syria, leaving the lands to Russia as Assad, and how that directly augmented the migrant crisis.
