Dell Docking Station works with Dell Laptop but not Lenovo thinkpad

As per headline

I have a Dell Latitude 5440 work laptop and wife has Lenovo Thinkpad E16

I have a Dell Docking station 3100 and also a KVM Switch. The docking station as Usb type A and I can work this with my Dell but it wont work on Lenovo. So have an adapter to convert to type C and again works on mine not Lenovo. I have a Mokin Dock and this has a type c cable and that works fine with both but cant get the Ethernet to work with my Dell so have to plug cable into Dell Laptop and not the docking station. However the Ethernet works on the Dell Dock?? So cannot understand why not working on Molkin?

Anyone got any ideas if I can get the Dell Docking station to work with Lenovo as its not picking up the monitors or any other suggestions?
