    Hi everyone,

Long story short, I was on a flight due to land at SNN airport at 15:00, we approached for landing on time but quickly took off again and 10 mins later it was announced we were being diverted to Belfast Intl.

I won't bore you with the saga of it all, however I didn't arrive back into Shannon airport until 01:30 - a mere 10.5hrs later.

I would like to claim EU261 compensation for this delay and expenses, however Ryanair have denied it stating "adverse weather" however I know that other flights landed fine within minutes of ours.

Could anyone please tell me how to find out what flights and times other flights landed in Shannon around 15:00 on 29/11/2024 please?

I have tried SkyScanner, Flight Radar, Flight Aware and SNN airport itself, but I can't get any info for the 29th September

Would be very much appreciated if someone more knowledgeable than me knows how to find out this info.

    Many thanks!

Have you tried the playback function on FR24 for the time in question? It would show your flight and any others that landed before or after. That said, if the captain of your flight was not able, in his/her opinion, to land safely at that time and did not have the fuel to hold for an extended period, IMO that's not a decision that you as a passenger can question.

    What was your flight number?

would agree, if the flight got to Shannon and had to divert to Belfast, I can’t see any reason why the captain or Ryanair would do that apart from being unable to land.

It’s not uncommon for a plane to land and then 1 min later another can’t. A minute later another could land without issue. It doesn’t mean the flight that couldn’t land was wrong - weather is variable.

I don’t think you’re going to get the compensation - what reason do you believe caused the delay?

Hi, I was watching FR24 at the time and FR3257 BHX SNN was the only flight that diverted and didnt land at that time. It seemed like the only arrival in that hour but there were departures. They had no issue,

your flight couldn't have been on 29/11/2024 as that's next month. When did it happen?

I was on a flight out of Shannon yesterday Sunday 06/10 due to depart at 14.40 but actually left at 16.00ish . Incoming flight arrived from Malta I think. Other flight leaving around the time we were waiting were Ryanair to Reus and Birmingham and AL to JFK and Boston. As far as I could tell the other flights were on time.

Generally speaking, landings tend to be more affected by adverse wind conditions than take-offs, assuming the winds are within the aircraft's company's permitted limits.

it was a genuine question particularly as people could have been looking up departures and arrivals into SNN that day to check weather warnings. It also could have been August or July as OP has obviously moved on to the stage of seeking compensation. No harm in asking what month is was.
