Why does Irish pop-culture media constantly report on "oh look someone mentioned Ireland/Irishness"?

This is just bizarre. Accounts like Joe.ie constantly have these sorts of videos. For example:

    • <famous person> spotted in Ireland
    • <famous person> mentions their trip to Ireland
    • <famous person> mentions their Irish background
    • Remember the time <famous person> was in an Irish pub
    • The Brits/Americans/Aussies/French are going crazy about Hurling!!!
    • The most Irish looking dog of all time! (the was a real story, a video is of a dog, in a flat cap, with a Yorkshire man talking about working in a pit.)

I don't mean just reporting on Irish stories, but reporting about a time another nation mentions Ireland, or an Irish custom.

Feel free to share examples. What is with that? Why?
