I don't know if some posters just don't get it or just don't care to acknowledge it that this doctrine opens Pandora box( oh behave)

For instance other bad actors can now cite Israel as example to commit any egregious acts under the rubric of self defense. With this in mind Vladimir would have us believe what he is doing in Ukraine is pre emptive self defense!

Oh okay, they found an inscription.

    Continue killing the children so.

Wait until Israel discovers they can use the precedent Putin has set by saying “Give us 25% of your country or we nuke everyone”

The funny part is the far left bristle at the US being the “world policeman” but without them to keep everyone inline we endup with these vacuums and catastrophies in Ukraine and now Middle East where the UN and Europe can only look on and shrug

Just look higher up at some of them praying that US is kicked out of Middle Eastern bases, because that will totally not boomerang when Iran decides to irradiate the Saudi oil fields, which funnily enough US don’t need anymore but Europe, India and China very much do

Yeah this is how evil they are:

This woman was bought, at age 11, by a member of Hamas - Gaza's government at the time - who just happened to be in Iraq hanging out with ISIS members, the way you do when you're an Islamist militant I suppose, and made a sex slave. She was then brought into Gaza against her will (so much for the "open air prison" - although it was clearly was that for her, just not so much for Hamas) and kept there until the IDF killed her owner, after which, thanks to a Jew who spends his time trying to free ISIS' prisoners, hence his nickname "the Jewish Schindler", she was finally freed and taken back to Iraq.

But - those evil Israelis, right? That's the society Israel is fighting: one where women can be openly kept as sex slaves by members of the government, and her fate is so little different from the status of women generally there that nobody really minds. That's all women are good for in their minds anyway. And it took a Jew, not a member of the Palestinian diaspora, to care enough to have her freed. And the IDF's destruction of Hamas infrastructure in Gaza of course.

And if anyone thinks Hezbollah, or indeed the Iranian regime is any different - no they're not.

Putin is bluffing. He likes power. He is not going to do something that is likely to bring about his end. As for Israel, Likud doesn't need to threaten to use Nukes to get what they want, they have the backing of a superpower to continue their greater Israel project without fear of sanction.

Don’t mention the Yemeni slave markets either, they are “good guys” apparently to the far left

Anyways McWilliams makes an interesting point that it’s Europe who can restrain Israel but choses not to, something that the far left ignores as they blame the US for all the problems in every sh1thole in the world

3340 Palestinians in Administrative Detention. Kidnapped. How many do Hamas have??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,546 ✭✭✭Quitelife

    What does Israel expect ?

They treat the Locals like Sh*t and leave them living in squalor for decades and kill a few thousand of them every few years ….most people if they were treated like the Palestinians would fight Back…..!!…..

Great publicity, saving someone that was captured and sold by Isis that was created by US. I killed 40k and injured 100k but I saved one. I am the good guy they are bad. Happy to see the girl saved but plastering around like a good thing while hands full of blood. What did they do to prevent 10s of thousands of children being killed with their tons of bombs.

    From wikipedia:

    Iraq–United States correspondence

On 25 July 1990, April Glaspie, the U.S. ambassador to Iraq, asked the Iraqi high command to explain the military preparations in progress, including the massing of Iraqi troops near the border.

The American ambassador declared to her Iraqi interlocutor that Washington, "inspired by the friendship and not by confrontation, does not have an opinion" on the disagreement between Kuwait and Iraq, stating "we have no opinion on the Arab–Arab conflicts".

No. It is more than a right though, it is an obligation for the State to defend it's people.

Which is one of the reasons they are so despised among the modern trendy left.

Iran just launched the largest ballistic missile strike in history. You might think good. Israel shouldn't exist in the first place so any action they do is automatically wrong but they just won't have the decency to die, another fundamental problem.

Strasdaz asked above does Israel think it is superior to it's neighbours. Militarily they are. Economically they are to most of them but as a society they are far superior, as a Palestinian i knew in london said its full of jewish fags and whores, problem is that Israel is full of Jews, fags and whores as he put it and they all know what the neighbouring countries do to people like them.

All the neighbours kill gays, women are less than shi7 under a shoe and Jews are kept on a leash . I think that shouldn't be like that but.. Another fundamental point of disagreement.

But - those evil Israelis, right?

    Right.

    My unqualified armchair guess…

In the short run, the enlarged Israel military actions of the past year will substantially subside after the US presidential elections and swearing in 20 January 2025, no matter who wins, Harris or Trump. US Congressional funding of Israel in the new year will have a greater diplomatic effect than new presidential 4 years term political rhetoric.

In the long term, such military conflicts will continue, as they have for thousands of years in this religious-geopolitical region. What Durant and Durant in their Lessons of History have concluded about war, is that war is normal, and peace is not, given that recorded history vastly exhibits more days of war than peace.

Sorry ai must have miss the part where I said it was OK to kill children.

Killing children is not OK, just so we are clear.

Hiding weapons in schools/hospitals and using civilians ad a human shield is also not OK, just so we are clear.

It is possible to condemn both as being horrid actions taken out by people who have lost sense of just what they are doing to each other.

    Just so we are clear.

Clever word play may win debates, but it doesn't make it true.

Understanding and explaining things, is not the same as justifying them, if in doubt… please re-read this statement.

Also it begs the question why did the IDF fund the very same people in Syria. Yet they didn't see fit to help Ukraine. Danzy keeps telling us they have a common fight, but Bibi obviously doesn't think so .

Anyone who has spent any time in the 3 ex-USSR Baltic countries recently will be aware of how clearly they see that.

Of course it is, why didn't you do that instead of bringing up some mention of an inscription?

    Just so we are clear?

Don't mention the slave markets, don't mention the honour killings, don't mention the child brides, don't mention the killing of LGBT people, don't mention the killing of adulterers, don't mention a society where they spend all their money on weapons and most people do not have electricity .

The list of don't mentions about places in the resistance and the region is very long.

In what sense are they shields when Israel blows them regardless? It’s the biggest load of bollox going. The French government criticised them for bombing an orphanage, tents and school 2 days ago. It’s actually dumbfounding at this stage how people fall for the human shield shite. The Israelis couldn’t give a S

When WWIII starts will Ireland be neutral? I can't imagine the EU standing by if Israel came under an existential threat.

Why did Iran launch close to 200 missiles at Israel? Could it be that Iran were acting in self defense?

You can just ignore the attack by Israel on Iran and then throw up the self defense card when (presumably) Israel launches an attack on Iran.

Who let thousands of Jihadi fighters out of jail at the start of the Syrian civil war.

Bashar Al Assad, the man who they wanted to kill, strategically it was a master stroke by him and is probably the reason he survives.

War makes strange bedfellows and sides use each others for strategic reasons.

People speak of colonial mindsets, Assad is the biggest colonial throwback in the middle east outside of the Hashemite king to the South.

The Arab Socialist party. Socialism in the middle east is a product of rich kids going to western universities in the 50s and 60s.

One of the sparks that set off the revolution against him was his attempt to criminalise honour killings a couple of years before it. The reaction from most of the country was so strident that he had to back down, in a part of the world where backing down is an invite to further attack it was a weakness he never recovered from. Yet he was right to try to ban it.

What does any of these got to do with this conflict? Do you think bombing Gaza, Lebanon or Iran will going to change anything? They may hate Israel now but they will hate more later.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,067 ✭✭✭✭Danzy

Countries can lob rockets at each other but prior to Oct 7th and Iran's goons in Gaza attacking there was peace*, prior to the 8th there was peace in the north.

It's kill or be killed there and as the Jews say , the Arabs can lose again and again but Israel will only lose once.

    * People don't have to like it before that or can say but what about Thutmoses IV campaign there.

Self defense is all well and good but in the region that sailed a long time ago. In all it's neighbours imperialism is at the very core of their culture, religion, society and identity, in a way no European can understand. The continuity of that mindset is thousands of years old. Maybe if Italy was still the Roman empire till the modern era it would.

That's like saying the Allies are the bad guys because they killed lots of innocent Germans and Japanese. Which they did.

There certainly was not peace in Gaza prior to oct 7th.

But Iran has the same right of self defense as Israel claim against Hamas and Hezbollah.

If Israel didn't attack Iranian soil, Iran wouldn't have lobbed 200 missiles to them.

    Fine. Let them.

It is not a binary, few things in life ever really are.

Iran have been on the warpath against Israel since the revolution.

.Countries must do what they perceive as right and in their interests .

Israel make Russia look like a reasonable bunch.

The size of the Bombs Israel does be dropping on comminities in Gaza or Lebanon are monster bombs that destroy multiple buildings not to mention killing dozens if not hundreds of men , women & Children.

Israel the Big BULLY with its BILLION DOLLAR Arms killing the locals who are hungry from Israel blockades.

What the **** is the EU going to do ? It will take 2 years for them to decide what uniform to wear.
