It's funny how Vance said that no one is talking about the election in 2020, people are focused on the future.

    Someone should tell 45...

And have you forgotten how bookies paid out early on a Clinton win in 2016? The reason they're limiting bet sizes with Trump is they're protecting against the unexpected. Plus you probably tend to have supporters who are happy to bet silly sums as demonstrated by your 2020 losses but his win was a sure thing back then right?

There is nothing good about anything to do with Donald Trump, the word doesn't exist for him.

As of 8 hours after you posted this, it's not correct.

I can lay the very same max bet on trump as I can on Harris (€19k) and both are 10/11.

    Paddy power odds.

Looking at the image of Trump wrapped in The Stars and Stripes on his account post is disturbing. Ref his chance of winning the election, I won't believe he's lost until the fat lady sings.

It's no longer him using the GOP as a carriage, it's now a large mass of GOP support-voters that are keeping him aboard despite them knowing he's a criminal who would do to them in 2025 what he's done to others presently and in the past, just because he's stolen their party affiliation, their party flag and their party itself from their ownership. I expect that if he loses the election, the "they betrayed me" rant he'll come out with will be epic.

FLOTUS45 is pro-choice. Surprising to say the least. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/melania-trump-memoir-abortion-roe-b2622949.html

Lot of noise, but still not much change in the signal. Trump still has to crack the Blue Wall to win and if Harris wins any one of AZ, GA or NC, it's all over and a fairly comfortable win for her.

I don't see the Jack Smith indictment moving the needle really; yes, the revelations allowed to be seen are bad but they are nothing that hasn't already been reported on.

Stay calm and watch Pennsylvania. 🙂

Trump derangement syndrome is strong in this thread. Some people need to touch grass

For any normal person the Jack Smith indictment would be game over, but Trump is like that persistent turd that refuses to flush. Stormy Daniels should have been game over. The 37 felons should have been game over. The rape conviction should have been game over.

Many of the best people are saying phrenology will be used on immigrants to decided wether they are good immigrants or bad immigrants.

Russian troll farms are in full swing now, a 2-hour trowel around social media this morning and one can see the clear bias for Trump and Vin the Vence one. I just don't buy all this half the US voters support Trump/Vance. The biggy with the online world is that it's so easy to manipulate polls and storeys and make them go in a certain direction. Bleep it, but, at this stage 1/3 of Republicans don't support Trump/vance. I hope the voters came out in force for Harris and Walz on the day.

    Dan.

    Yeah, its incredible.

Donald Trump turned what was a meh first term after failing to do anything on healthcare or getting Mexico to pay for and build the wall in to a disaster with abysmal handling of Covid and managing to get impeached when it was revealed he had tried to extort the President of Ukraine. Then, after losing the election, he tried to enact several plans to overturn the election and as a consequence he has been charged in 2 separate cases for this actions. He then extolled his supporters to fight and to put pressure on congress to prevent the certification of the election he had lost. He was impeached for that one also. He then crawled away from the White House bringing with him, several boxes of documents he had no right to take and which he mishandled and possibly revealed the top level secrets that were contained within. He's being charged in relation to this also. Since he has been out of office, he has been found guilty of defaming the name of someone who he sexually assaulted and must pay her millions in restitution, he has been banned from operating a business in New York and he must pay hundreds of millions for the fraud he enacted there also. And he has gone through this Presidential campaign getting more and more incoherent and telling voters that while in 2016 he said he'd have a healthcare plan to go on Day 1 of his Presidency if he won, he now only has 'the concepts of a plan' and that he's going to create a situation where consumers must deal with tarriffs passed on my foreign businesses which he somehow thinks will reduce inflation. Oh, and he also used the opportunity to debate his opponent to scream about immigrants eating cats and dogs.

And yet, as you said, we have people on here claiming he is the best person for the job and will likely win. If that isn't a sign of having been impacted by a syndrome, what is?

Its kind of obvious though that any of the Trump supporters have very little to say about Trump beyond defending him. They don't offer analyses of his policies (what policies?) to demonstrate his superior abilities or intellect, just general, vague 'he is wonderful', and complaints that everyone is out to get him.

The one that's most fascinating is the ones who jump in to declare he'll create peace with Russia but when challenged, they just disappear from the thread. 😂

Ah yes the old "He's so tough that no one would dare start a war on his watch!!" crew.

Trump - The "Military guy" , whos family are only in the US in the first place because his grandfather ran away from Germany to avoid conscription and made his money running a Brothel in the Klondike during the Gold-rush.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,549 ✭✭✭Raoul Duke III

Yes, Trump is clearly held to a different standard.

It's a form of (evil) genius really. He is by far the most despicable and unfit character ever to hold the office but in a way, you have to admire the sheer dastardly cunning of it all.

Iran literally attacked a US base on his watch and over 100 service members were injured. Trump dismissed it by saying they just had headaches.

It's farcical anyone believes his strong man bullshit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,881 ✭✭✭✭LambshankRedemption

I don't see dastardly cunning, just narcissism and shamelessness of epic proportions.

If any one of the things that befell trump happened to a career politician, they would retire and go write their memoirs. One felony, or an affair with an adult entertainer or a sexual abuse claim and that would be it.

Trump just lies and his base eat it up.

Yeah, yeah I agree - he's a terrible, appalling human being. No question. Worst president ever (and not even close).

It's just that what he accomplished politically - the takeover of an American political party from the outside and then capturing the White House - is a stunning political achievement. It's not an act of admiration in any way to recognise that fact.

Yep, the idea that Russia or China would bow down to him because he’s some sort of hard-man is probably the most bizarre to me. Everything we see of him in public shows little backbone he actually has and how much he hates being challenged or questioned.

When questioned by journalists he resorts to insults claiming that they’re nasty or mean. He won’t do an interview on a channel he thinks might actually ask him to back up his statements. He didn’t want to do a debate on a channel that didn’t give him priority, and when he did do the debate he it was insanely easy to manipulate him because he’s unable to handle even the slightest criticism.

The idea that this severely fragile person we see in public will somehow have autocrats quaking in their boots is utter nonsense. There is literally zero evidence from Trump that he would do anything other than give them whatever they want and the spin it as a success or blame the democrats.

People here over the last few days have questioned if Harris has the minerals to handle the situation in the Middle East. On the evidence provided, she’s the only one in this race who does.

Ref the decision by Georgia's state supreme court to leave the state voter registration system stand, has the state GOP party decided to let the decision alone or appeal it?

It seems [as I understand it] that millions of voters from both parties, and also independent voters, could lose the right to vote should a challenge on the validity of the law succeed. The requirement to show a from of identity to register to vote at all, not just for the presidential race, seems to be at the heart of whatever lapse of attention of officials occurred, due to previous federal V state law court actions up to SCOTUS level.

Can the Polling Organisations be hacked by troll farms to change the 2/3% either way results they publish as factual ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,549 ✭✭✭Raoul Duke III

If the Blue Wall stands, GA is irrelevant. It's unlikely to be the tipping point in the election.

    Only two facts you need to understand about this election are;

    • Trump is standing to stay out of jail
    • MAGA are voting to keep the USA white and Christian

Discussions of anything else policy or character wise regarding GOP voters are marginal at best.

As soon as Trump goes to prison Melanie will file for divorce. Thats a sure fire bet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,309 ✭✭✭✭everlast75

Further evidence of his dementia and another example of his unsuitability to be in control of the U.S.

He should step down. Melania clearly loves him and should do the best thing for both of them and force him to withdraw. /S

Melania doesn't love him, and she would likely only seek his withdrawal as a pretext for dumping him when he is sentenced to jail time.

All the rats are leaving the sinking ship. Its a basket of despicables who are left.
