Going south yesterday through Ballymun about 1:30pm, woman in an orangish Hyundai Accent turned left across me at the Rediscovery center junction. Full jam on breaks while trying to turn left to avoid hitting her car. She rolls down passenger window and I'm saying "what the **** are you at you stupid fcuking eejit?" she says "sorry luv, didn't see you" and drives off.

Don't know what she was at, wide open area and I had a good rear light on. Frightened the shite outta me to be honest. Disk brakes are good for commuting.

it's not as if she couldn't see you before getting to that junction!

it's a junction where you can carry a nice bit of speed into the making the turn in a car as it's got a big curve into the junction so she probably just misjudged where I was or as she said didn't see me.

I need to get a second good rear light for my backpack

The crux of most of it.
Saw 3 young lads cycling to school outside my house today. A car overtook one of them cus he was slightly (not a full a length) slower than his mates. Then sit between them for a whole 200m to the upcoming roundabout.

Straight after the roundabout is a cycle lane.

I had a Merc overtake me coming into Wexford town the other morning. There was a Wexford Bus in front of me, I could have went faster but it would have been an effort to overtake, he was at the speed limit or close enough, so I left a gap for breaking between us. Merc overtook, pulled in between us and then I actually had to sit on my brakes as he was substantially slower than both of us after the overtake. Anyway, the road splits a little later, one for going right and one for left. I was early for the train so I went for a spin around the block. Merc went left, myself and the bus went into the right lane. I overtook the Merc, who then dropped in behind me, then after going round the corner went back to the left lane (so a completely different route than the one he initially went for), pulled up beside me and started roaring at me that my behaviour was dangerous, was I trying to get my self killed. I am still unsure what I done wrong, but I am pretty sure that it wasn't as bad as the guy who overtook into the breaking distance between myself and the vehicle in front, then slowed down, then dropped anchor in another lane so as to come around underneath me and then shout at me out his window while moving.

    I don't know, but I'm sorry.

There's nothing quite like sitting behind the wheel of a high powered vehicle to exclaim your complete lack of situational awareness and rules of the road to the world. You can't possibly be wrong, of course, because you're in a big car.

Well that was my initial reaction to it too. Seems like a complete non issue, to be honest

The cyclist in this instance is an absolute dickhead. Instead of getting out of the way of an approaching emergency vehicle, he chose to press on in front of it as though he could outrun it. He passed another cyclist dangerously closely, which could easily have resulted in a collision in front of the fire engine. All the stupid bastard had to do was pull in, let the fire engine past, then pull out again. Cretin.

Cyclist was an idiot, priority here is the fire engine to get by.
Taxi driver didn't really do anything wrong, they likely should have pulled in sooner if anything.

Had nothing for a long time, then three over the last week.

last Tuesday, while cycling home, got overtaken by a lady who felt the need to open her window and shout at me as she passed. She couldn't have been behind me for more than 10 seconds up to that point.

Yesterday an older man on a bicycle held his line coming contraflow on a single lane cycle path forcing me to stop, and then gave out to me that I should have moved left onto the footpath to let him by.

This morning a Ford people carrier overtook me into oncoming traffic, and so never crossed the median - brushed my elbow and then continued on to break the red at the next junction.

Must be something in the air.

my wife was waiting to cross at the pedestrian crossing beside us last night, and by the time the last motorist had finished proceeding through their red, the pedestrian light for her had already turned amber.

THAT is the one thing, even as a cyclist, that really grinds my gears on the roads.

crossing over the M50 northbound at ballymun - i'm on the red line, heard a siren and realised there was an ambulance, blues and twos, coming off the M50 (following the blue line) .

i reckoned the relative speeds were such that the ambulance would reach the merge point at about the same time as me, so i slowed and gestured to the car behind me to slow. so what did he do? floored it and tried an overtake at about where i've placed the head of the red arrow here. if i hadn't been there, yeah, he'd probably have made it to the merge before the ambulance did - but why would you do that?

Had this experience on my way home yesterday.
Whilst I probably shouldn't have engaged with the driver, my attack on their driving skills still didn't justify the subsequent punishment…

you going to take that further?

is the reg plate legible at the close pass? because they would argue that if not, there's no proof that the first car was the same as the second one.

Reg plate is very visible (change the playback quality from 360 to 1080) and have full intention of taking it further

Edit: I wonder would me saying what I said to the driver be viewed by AGS as having triggered the driver

He'll probably get an FCPN for going around the barrier if he gives that video to AGS.

Was that in response to me asking "I wonder would me saying what I said to the driver be viewed by AGS as having triggered the driver"?

it was almost certainly the trigger, but the sensible response would be 'what difference would that make?'
