I had a very close call today, a grey golf passed me when there was a traffic Island also in Portlaoise, he was so close I could have easily touched his mirror, I tried to catch him to ask him WTF, but didn't manage too.

Had a near miss last weekend. Out for a run with my wife along the canal bank. Running under one of the humpbacked bridges, and met two fellas on bikes carrying way too much speed.

The path narrows at each of these bridges, and there are signs asking cyclists to dismount. The other option for cyclists is to cross the road that the bridge is making over the canal. Fella in front had to haul on, I grabbed my wife to pull her out of the way, and he had a speed wobble that could have seen him end up in the water.

After a morning of Teams calls I went out for a spin at lunchtime. On the downhill approach to a roundabout doing a fair clip (>40km/h looking at the Garmin data) and in primary as I was aware there was something behind me. You think the "something" - which turned out to be a large flatbed truck with the name of a Limerick based stainless steel supplier all over it - would be patient? Fat chance. They overtook me within 50m of the roundabout crossing a solid white line at roughly the point in the map view below - off course immediately pulling in on top of me to avoid smacking into the island. I've cooled off a bit since getting back but still debating an email to their employer
