Could anyone help an auld wan with how to to get the gamepass cheap for a few years ....3 years ago my then 12 year old thought I was amazing when I some how managed to get game pass ultimate and i think i paid €1 for the ea subscription. It runs out next month and I haven't a clue how I did it. I know I used cd keys to get a code but don't think I used vpn. I have read back but I'm a bit lost. If anyone wants to pm me or post the steps I would appreciate it

Bad news I'm afraid. The cheap multi-year conversion deals are over unfortunately. Xbox changed the conversion rates last week on on 11/9/24. See website for details:

GP Core converts to GP Ultimate at 2:1

So if you buy 36 months it will convert to 18 months, plus the 1 month purchased separately (you may be able to get a trial offer for the 1st month, but I havent seen any of late). Your current sub must have expired first.

Previously would of converted to 25 months.

Just follow the instructions in the first post.

I've updated the first post to reflect the fact that they've neutered the ratio, and while I was doing that I realised that there thread title doesn't really make sense anymore, it's not really a "deal" anymore.

Has this thread served it's purpose now? Should we close it and just use the general chat thread? Do we still want a thread just for game pass? And if so, what should the title be?

It could probably be closed, there is already a separate thread for Game Pass. Iirc this one was created due to the amount of posts in the GP thread asking about this. The frequency of such isn't as high anymore.

You can still get a 12 month Core sub for €40, which when converted with the new ratio is 6 months of Ultimate for €40 instead of €108 at its monthly rate.

It still works but the conversion ratio was changed again with the change to Game Pass Standard at the start of the month.

Core converts to Ultimate at a 2:1 ratio where it was previously 3:2

Yep, can confirm it still works. I just completed the upgrade to Ultimate there.

VPN to India

Buy 6 x 3 months of Game Pass Core and redeem on the MS website

VPN off

Buy 1 month of Game Pass Ultimate and redeem on the MS website, which then converts the whole lot to 18 months of Ultimate.

No, it's gone to 2:1 so you would need 36 months core for 18 months now. 18 months core would get you 9 months ultimate.

I used a VPN connected to India to try this and the Core came up as $9.99 per month. I checked and the IP is showing up as Indian but I guess MS have blocked this particular one and that's why I'm being shown USD, any thoughts? Any VPN recommendations?

So I bought 1 year game core India using a vpn. I'm now in India vpn but when trying to add the code it says I'm in a different region and it's geo blocked. I'm in India via the Vpn so why is it doing this?

Some VPN are recognised by Microsoft and block redemption, Tunnel Bear for example. I think people here have had success using Surfshark activating codes in India.

Popular free vpns will usually be blocked, smaller obscure or paid for vpns have a better chance, or a trial can be worth a go if there's any trouble

I am just at the end of my previous 36 month ultimate subscription using hte old ratio.

My microsoft a/c seems to show that it will auto-renew at 12.99 per month

As the first post is deleted, I can't recall exactly what the methodology is.

Purchase 3 years Game Pass Core (3 * €45), then how do I convert this to ultimate? I realise this will leave me with 18 months but this is still at €7.50 per month versus the 12.99 I will be charged now?
