Reporting abandoned cars in housing estate

A number of cars have been parked up for years in my housing estate untaxed etc. Does anyone have experience with reporting these to the council to have them removed?

I don’t want to start knocking on doors etc so just wondering what is the process for reporting these.

This article from May outlines the local authority policy.

Some say that if the cars have no number plate some local authorities will remove them.

I suspect this won't work if they still have discs in the windscreens which will help to identify the owners

Maybe 15 yrs ago I just rang the guards.

They can trace the owner or whatever.

Car was gone a few days later , I was in work so not sure if it was towed or owner contacted and told to shift it.

I logged a report online via the Guards website but got not as much as an automated reply back and it’s been a few months since. Seems it’s not the councils problem unless there’s no tax, insurance or reg plate on them. Will call and see if I get any further this time.
