Another Rip-off campaign

This would appear on the surface to be a good thing, but the quality of the site is limited and when you get there it seems to be all about insurance reform and with the PIAB coming on stream maybe it's a bit late. No doubt the government won't be too pushed about doing much outside the Personnal Injuries Assessment Board and there are plenty of things they could also do to take on the insurance industry and Legal profession. One could say at least Fine Gael are trying, but could try harder. if you're going to do something do it well.

Having heard Matt Coopper give Enda Kenny a rough ride on the last word about it. Kenny seemed to do ok though. And having seen RTE put ripoffireland.org in their caption, rather than www.ripoff.ie, there are enough forces against this initiative, it's a vital issue for consumers and it's about time that something was done. There doesn't need to be rivalry between rip-off campaigns, of course the consumer association, fine gael, ripoffireland.org are coming at it from different angles but surely the objectives of the campaigns is to highlight the gaugin of irish consumers. In that way it is part of the movement to stand up for irish consumerism.

Of course everyone on this board would be behind it if they were sure that fine gael were seroius and not just looking for votes through a popularity contest
