In the latest New York Times and Siena poll Trump has rebounded and now leads by 5 points in Arizona, 4 points in Georgia, and 2 points in North Carolina, all swing states. I think it will all come down in the end to Pennsylvania were Trump yard signs have apparently become the new state flower.

Another poll shows him competitive in Virginia of all places. Gonna be interesting race for sure.

I concede. I misread it. Harris didn't quite commit 17 falsehoods.

I'll agree that Trump might have stretched the truth.

Again, there is basis for Trump's comment.

In addition JD Vance Senator from Ohio, noted some complaints about pets had come into his office from “firsthand” accounts from his constituents.  Being Springfield Ohio is within his purview, he would know.

No, not "Not quite 17 lies" , Reuters found no lies at all, with just one statement being viewed as "unclear"

You made it up and can't even admit that verifiable fact.

What's worst about this is that I am pretty certain that you KNOW that what you are saying isn't true, but you just don't care as long as the lies further your agenda.

    Just like Trump.

Youngkin is a very popular governor their tbf.

I think Biden would have lost the state but Harris should get over the line but if not then can't see how Harris could lose such a state and win the EC.

I still think Harris wins it , but nowhere near as confident as I was with Biden a few years ago at this stage. So many variables IMO.

Firstly Trump portrayed it as fact. Secondly, racist rumours isn't a basis, it amounts to repeating something stupid that he heard that had no actual factual basis. By your own logic, it would be perfectly fine to say that Jewish people poison wells, there's no factual basis but people said it so it has a basis. I've heard way loads people claim they've been abducted and probed by aliens so if Trump brought that up, it would be perfectly legit cause it has a "basis".

Now, it's worth noting that well poisoning, Haitians eating pets and alien probes have no actual credible evidence going for them. But the caliber of politician that you view as good is the ones that will bring them up, somebody who doesn't care about facts and just goes with his unreliable gut.

I'd also guarantee you if Trump brought up aliens etc. Vance would also get lots of firsthand accounts. So true in your eyes apparently.

All of which are proven lies and fabrications.

Yet they continue to promote them.

So there is no "basis" , there wasn't one when they started this 3 weeks ago and there absolutely positively isn't one now.

there is no reasonable basis for saying people are eating pets in Springfield. He didn’t stretch the truth, he told lies.

He lies all the time - the election was stolen being the biggest one. Why defend him? He’s a pathological liar.

Why should I bother debunking all of this again?

You'll just continue to lie and ignore factual reality to push your agenda.

    Just like Trump.

Trump would be finishing up now if it wasn't for Covid imo, that's why he lost in 2020.

He didn't lose because of Covid, he lost because Covid exposed him for the incompetent, self involved crook that he is.

Covid just exposed the truth about him to enough people for him to lose.

I guess at this point it might be best to agree to disagree. I could show a video someone in Springfield posted with a skinned cat on top of a outdoor BBQ grill, that was left behind after the Hattian family moved out, but I won't as I have my concerns regarding its authenticity.

No country handled Covid well if you look at the stats, most populated countries suffered more, hardly a shocker.

It's a chicken and verified as such a long time ago.

Even you think it's suspect, yet you still try to use it as evidence.

I don't want to see my taxpayer $$ funding religious education - so as long as those taxpayer-paid school vouchers aren't used in schools with a religious ethos, I'm fine with it. But, why do I suspect that's not the goal?

Did you not know Trump is completely responsible for all the misery felt around the word brought on by the Covid pandemic?

That poll was taken before the debate (3rd to 9th of September) so not sure it means a whole lot now, given that every post debate Poll shows Harris improving significantly.

Don't know why it's only coming out now

    That's a lie!

Results of New York Times/Siena College polls of 2,077 likely voters in North Carolina, Georgia and Arizona conducted from Sept. 17 to 21, 2024.

    Doesn't stop it being BS.

60 lawsuits later, and this still isn't true. "Some" as in "Lying MAGAts who are too clueless to realize how bad a Trump administration will be for them" is more accurate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,021 ✭✭✭✭duploelabs

Some did argue that in court and got disbarred as a result due to lack of evidence

No, you are probably afraid in my rebuttal I'll show how they all were lies.

What the moderators said was not incorrect, you don't need a 'liberal news site' you need the debate transcript:

DAVID MUIR: I just want to clarify here, you bring up Springfield, Ohio. And ABC News did reach out to the city manager there. He told us there have been no credible reports of specific claims of pets being harmed, injured or abused by individuals within the immigrant community --

There is nothing incorrect or non factual about that statement.

What are these "almost unanimous false facts" TM?

They did attempt to fact check her, ICYMI, about the "blood bath" comment - but Trump cut the moderator off before they had the opportunity to:

VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: I was at the Capitol on January 6th. I was the Vice President-Elect. I was also an acting senator. I was there. And on that day, the president of the United States incited a violent mob to attack our nation's Capitol, to desecrate our nation's Capitol. On that day, 140 law enforcement officers were injured. And some died. And understand, the former president has been indicted and impeached for exactly that reason. But this is not an isolated situation. Let's remember Charlottesville, where there was a mob of people carrying tiki torches, spewing antisemitic hate, and what did the president then at the time say? There were fine people on each side. Let's remember that when it came to the Proud Boys, a militia, the president said, the former president said, "Stand back and stand by." So for everyone watching who remembers what January 6th was, I say we don't have to go back. Let's not go back. We're not going back. It's time to turn the page. And if that was a bridge too far for you, well, there is a place in our campaign for you. To stand for country. To stand for our democracy. To stand for rule of law. And to end the chaos. And to end the approach that is about attacking the foundations of our democracy 'cause you don't like the outcome. And be clear on that point. Donald Trump the candidate has said in this election there will be a bloodbath, if this -- and the outcome of this election is not to his liking. Let's turn the page on this. Let's not go back. Let's chart a course for the future and not go backwards to the past.

DAVID MUIR: Let me just follow up here--

FORMER PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: I have said blood bash, bath. It was a different term, and it was a term that related to energy, because they have destroyed our energy business. That was where bloodbath was. Also, on Charlottesville, that story has been as you would say, debunked. Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, Jesse -- all of these people, they covered it. If they go an extra sentence, they will see it was perfect. It was debunked in almost every newspaper. But they still bring it up just like they bring 2025 up. They bring all of this stuff up. I ask you this. You talk about the Capitol. Why are we allowing these millions of people to come through on the southern border? How come she's not doing -- and I'll tell you what I would do. And I would be very proud to do it. I would say we would both leave this debate right now, I'd like to see her go down to Washington, D.C. during this debate 'cause we're wasting a lot of time. Go down to -- because she's been so bad, it's so ridiculous. Go down to Washington, D.C. And let her sign a bill to close up the border. Because they have the right to do it. They don't need bills. They have the right to do it. The President of the United States, you'll get him out of bed. You'll wake him up at 4:00 in the afternoon, you'll say come on. Come on down to the office, let's sign a bill. If he ... if he signs a bill that the border is closed, all he has to do is say it to the border patrol, who are phenomenal. If they do that, the border is closed.

Trump has only himself to blame that the moderator didn't get the opportunity to fact check her themselves!

Goodness gracious. That is not what Reuters reported, that is the opposite of what Reuters reported:

A day after the debate, Facebook accounts posted, opens new tab: “CNN's official fact-checker says Kamala lied 17 times in the first ten minutes.”

    VERDICT

False. CNN did not report Kamala Harris made seventeen false claims in the Sept. 10 presidential debate.

That's not the point, all countries struggled to some extent or other and all absolutely made mistakes when reviewed after the fact. But they were making a 'best effort' to do the right thing with the information available at the time.

But Trump actively interfered and diminished the efforts of the experts because he didn't like them getting more attention than him.

He also politicized everything and undermined his own Governments efforts to try and keep his MAGA faithful conspiracy theorist voters onside.

He was more worried about how Covid would effect him and his election chances than he was about actually doing the right thing
