been quoted 2600 incl vat for a water softener with RO and for a 4in1 boiling water tap anything i should look out for to ask in advance of making downpayment?

If you have a private well you could avail of the grant to fit one if you haven't applied in the past 7 years. It should be 85% of the cost refunded once it passes the quality tests.
