In 2022, for Batch 1.1 Dublin I was notifed of my place on the 20th June, my interview for stage 3 was held on the 12th July.

Passport/Drivers Licence/Age Card/Public Services Card) had to be submitted by 10am 23rd June.

Notified of the presentation topics on the 1st July. Presentation had to be submitted by 9 a.m. on Friday, 8th July.

Received my results on the 8th August. Email received on the 19th August confirming my assignment to a new Dept. (it then took over a month from that email to be released due to managers on leave etc.)

No, I heard nothing. I'm high enough on the OOM that my form would have been checked, so they mustn't have started Kilkenny yet.

I came across this in the video they released on the new capability framework. Looks like the next step for anyone that made it through shortlisting is to the presentation and interview. I'd guess they'll issue directions in the next week or two and give maybe 2-4 weeks to send them on the presentation and interview? Total guesswork on the date range on my end.

The interview is also seemingly competitively ranked.

Thanks a mill for the info, that's a very quick turnaround. Hoping I won't have to do all that when I'm away. My current AP advised me to send them an email, saying it was no harm to ask and they said: "At present we have no set dates in place for Stage 3. Should we call candidates to Stage 3 and reach your order of merit we will be in touch via your publicjobs message board, so I recommend that you check this regularly."

what are peoples thoughts on the open HEO competition vs the departmental HEO campaigns. is one generally more favorable for success than the other? my partner is currently working as an EO in one of the departments that have launched an inner department competition.

It can be a personal thing. I don't particularly like them because I now know most of those that sit on the boards for internal comps and that just makes me extra self-conscious in an already stressful situation. Others prefer them because they find it difficult to get past the online tests for open comps

There are no open HEO competitions, Interdepartmental and internal are the two avenues to HEO and both are ongoing (very slowly on the internal one) at the moment.

Did anyone get contacted for Galway? I'm in the 20s and wondering if there is any chance that they'd go that far shortlisting 🤔

Anybody got further info on the depth and structure of report they'll be looking for? Any related templates knocking about? How far do they expect you to drill into your chosen topic?

Anyone else apply for the Galway panel. I got 17 after the assessments and found out yesterday they are only looking at the first 16. They will look at my application if a vacancy arises.

Hey! How did you find out what number they were shortlisting to? Did you email PAS directly? Thanks 😊

16 is such a random number. I'm sorry you were only 1 away.

I'm in the 20s for Galway so will assume that that's the end of this competition for me.

Someone can correct me on this, but you can't choose your topic. We were given the topic at application stage

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 430 ✭✭lucat

So when you got the stage 2 shortlisting you were asked to submit your ID more or less immediately. We haven't been asked to do that yet and it's been a week.

I imagine it may be for GDPR reasons; maybe in 2022 they only interviewed up to a certain number on the stage 2 shortlisting so they ended up with ID details they never used (that would be a GDPR violation). Regardless, it would be nice to have a rough timeline for next steps!

The way I read it was that ID has to be submitted once you get to interview stage.

I am open to correction but I believe you can choose from the 3 themes in section 4 of the renewal strategy to base your report on.

Got a date for interview and presentation. Rural county. Three weeks notice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18 Shinerwx

Got called for interview and presentation today. Was OOM below 10 in Wexford. Interview is in 3 weeks time and they advised that the details for the presentation will be sent 7 days prior to that. Also asked to confirm attendance by email and send a scanned copy or photo of ID!

Is it only rural panels that have been called so far? Has anyone on the Dublin panel heard anything yet??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 645 ✭✭✭rockmongrel

I'm in the 80s for Dublin after shortlisting and I haven't heard anything about an interview.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 253 ✭✭Flaker

Yes I'm in the 70s and not heard anything either. Maybe they are sorting the rural panels first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 550 ✭✭✭skidmarkoner

Very odd considering the book signalled Dublin panel would be called first.

Then again there is bigger numbers in Dublin so it might take time to organise the panel rather than say 10 people in Wexford

I’ve been called for Dublin, was in the first 25 after shortlisting.

3 weeks until the interview, you get the full brief a week after the invitation and a week to submit the report, leaving one more week to prepare for the actual interview.
