yeah that’s it. Oasis were the soundtrack of my last two years in college in the 90s. I’ve enjoyed seeing them over the years. Back at that stage I was discovering the Beatles and really being into that so I can easily see much younger favs being at the stage of discovering Oasis and getting into their stuff. I couldn’t have afforded the 90s equivalent of a €400 ticket. Probably the sane with young fans now. Fine do the cash grab shows but at least swing back and allow those fans and old timers like myself to go along. The only people seeing them now are the super favs, and fair play to them, or the well heeled and poser types who absolutely have to be at the trendy gig of the year.

"Using HFB"??? Chris sharock and gem were in the last oasis line up??...…I would imagine noel, liam , gem, sharock, bonehead......and the HFB bird bassist.

The last oasis line up was the strongest IMO with gem, sharock and Andy....bar liam voocals they sounded great 08/09.....Will be great having bonehead on stage but he just plays bar chords, not a patch on Gem

If you like that sound, check out the band Rival Sons, Big ballsy bluesy rock, Pressure and Time is a great album.

A lot of Metal bands would have a sound that is far bigger, but I don't think it would be your cup of tea.

Fair enough. I had tuned out by the late naughties.

I heard that lady on Newstalk. And to be honest, she hadn't a clue and her story changed every minute. A pointless interview.

No way to no what the plans are for Oasis long term yet, but given that a European tour looks like it will happen in 2026, they will be around until then at least. I heard off someone they tried to get them to play Slane this year, of course no idea how true that is, but you’d assume that would be a possibility for them

None of the lineup has been confirmed, the media are throwing stuff at a wall until it sticks. Alan White and Bonehead have both been rumoured too.

If I had to guess it’ll be Bonehead, Gem, Russ from HFB and Sharrock which is hardly a bunch a nobodies

Managed to get a couple tickets thru a friend in the presale. It's mental as people mentioned considering both Liam and Noel have been constantly touring....and you could bag a ticket for 50eu. The hype was pretty ridiculous. I will say I hope it's a good gig, but I'm also realistic enough to know I've been let down with Oasis gigs in the past. A half arsed perfromance or ... someone (mostly Liam) clearly not wanting to be there. Funnily enough, Liam in Malahide with Richard Ashcroft supporting blew any oasis gig I've seen out of the water. The crowd had a big hand in making that show. Hopefully we get a decent crowd at these gigs considering it was near impossible to get tickets. Impossible to know, there seems to be a lot of bandwagon jumpers as you normally get for these big events. But sure time will tell.

With repect to the man there's a few basslines after BHN that Guigs would need to play on the bottom two strings. I believe in him but are he sure we can do it? Gas Panicking.

Tony has as much chance of being there as I do at this stage.

    Has Andy been discounted?
Touring with Ride at the moment but by Xmas they'll have basically toured the world for the new album released earlier this year. Doubt they'll be doing any of their own gigs next summer.

Assuming Gem and Chris come back, that's the final Oasis lineup, and probably the best you'll get.

Guigsy didn't even want to take part in the Supersonic documentary, and doesn't want anything to do with Oasis it seems, so I highly doubt he'll be part of these gigs.

Bit arsey for me to say but I’d be very sure the brunt of people going aren’t going to be sitting on their waiting to see who will be the backing band. To them Liam and Noel ARE Oasis.

I’d love to see Bonehead, Guiggsy and Alan White. Gem and Andy will be there but for me they more than most felt like Gallagher requested mercenaries.

I was at Springsteen last year and Pearl Jam this year. I don't recall any ticket fiasco like Coldplay or Oasis. I got cheap enough tickets for both. Something like €80 for PJ and about €90 for Springsteen. I can't remember exactly, but they were around that. There were plenty of tickets available.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,674 ✭✭✭Jaffa3000

The user I responded to was talking about how they’ve used the fans with the prices. Pearl Jam charged 177€ for gold circle tickets/127€ for GA on the recent tour, while Springsteen had the same thing levelled at him for charging not far off €150 for standing tickets. Pearl Jam also had the platinum tickets turned on but as they didn’t sell out they eventually reverted to normal price tickets.

Both acts came away from their shows with great reviews and the pricing forgotten about, while the same thing will happen next year with Oasis.

Saw Oasis in 2000 in Lansdowne Rd, they came on an hour and a half late and were very poor. A good mate went to see them in the late 90's in the Point and Liam didn't show up.

People paying €400 for tickets seems insane to me, not much logic to it. Its a 2 hour gig.

Feel's like Celtic Tiger stuff…..I hope not.

€177 minimum face value for a standing ticket is also bananas.

Still Oasis were always expert sh!t stirrers! Masters of PR. Everything they did was very contrived, they had a business plan, they were never very credible. They were good at identifying why bands were successful and copied everything, from the music to the clothes to the attitude to the PR machine.

I was thinking today. There is no way this is a long term thing. One big blow off before the lads finish out their careers with their respective bands. Which has worked out perfect thus far for the Gallaghers.

I would think most people expect that's that's the case tbh..

I clicked on all the options and the only options at 8.30 was gold circle standing or vip seated, the standing were the best option, I accepted the gold circle standing and proceeded to checkout. Transaction went through and when email came it said I had purchased In demand standing. All this happened before 8.40 and there was nothing anywhere to say anything about IN Demand tickets, so yes I do feel like Ticketmaster pulled a fast one, why did they not say all gold circle standing were gone and the only ones left are regular standing at this price now, I knew of someone on Friday night who got regular standing for 177 so knew how much they were supposed to be,

Now what I’m trying to find out off anyone who might remember or have a screen shot of it is at what time on Saturday morning did In Demand start showing up on the platform for Dublin, I have a screenshot of it saying No matches, but unfortunately never took a picture of when it said what the tickets I picked came with, I.e. merchandise, gold circle. And I’m raging I didn’t cos i would be sending it to TM

Just said to myself quick take them and let her decide if she wants them or not.
yes she is keeping them, she’s paid me for them, but I do feel so pissed at the fact that I didn’t actually get what I thought I was getting, and I don’t like being hoodwinked.

if only I could get my hands on a screenshot of Sunday tickets for Dublin at approx 8.30 to show that there was no actual wording to say anything about IN Demand prices. I’ll be on TMs back to sort it,

So if any of you happen to have a screen shot, cheers

They 100% didn't come on an hour and a half late at Landsdowne Rd.

They came on at the normal time and did a full set, the same as they did at the gigs before and after it.

If they were even half an hour late, they wouldn't have had enough time to do a full set before venue curfew.

That was the first time I saw them. It was Noel's first gig back after walking out on the band after a bust up in Paris.

Liam shook his hand at the end of Acquiesce!

    Supergrass supported. Cracking Gig.

Conspiracy maybe on my part, but the complete personal Social Media avoidance from both I would consider to be concerning.

Feels like it’s all F’d together by their ‘teams’ and there’s been very little personal input from both - Just don’t be any bit surprised if there’s an ‘I am in my fúck’ doing a tour with him’ type quote in 6 months time and it falls apart.

Was at that exact gig in Lansdowne, my 1st time seeing them. I was never so excited for a gig. In hindsight it was forgetful.

Was at that gig too. Only thing I remember was somebody climbing up on top of the sound tent.

Liam has become a brand abambassor for Stone Island. A photo went up on socials and he got slated about ticket pricing in the comments. So I'd say they are keeping off the radar in general until it dies down.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 510 ✭✭✭strongback

They did come on late. Supergrass played before them and then there was a massive delay.

Oasis has the volume turned down very low for Supergrass but they were still better than Oasis who were particularly bad that night.

Oasis were well known for playing bad gigs and were very basic live.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,202 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Sure all those are pre-done ages ago. Not like that was just a sudden thing with Stone Island

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 421 ✭✭SoundOfSilence

    Supergrass we

Hilarious, yeah I remember a fella being on top of the sound tent. Also as others have mentioned supergrass, despite being lower in volume were the better band on the day. That and I vaguely remember a small bit of interaction with the crowd from Liam saying "were not splitting up".Literally that is it.

I didn't know Liam was a brand ambassador for Stone Island. That's one in the eye for everyone in here downplaying their cultural impact. Kudos.

Haven't even had that option come up for my ticket yet which is a bit strange seeing as the terms and conditions say you can resell from 2nd September....
