Bring back physical tickets sales, I queued overnight in Limerick plenty back in the day to see Oasis, only the dedicated fans will do it. Daytrippers wont bother. Also cap tickets at 2 per account. I still managed to get standing for the sunday in croker in presale and feel very fortunate but also deserved because I have been to Oasis 3 times and LG 5 times live.

So many smaller venues in UK closing been flagged before directly due to big monopolies cleaning up .

Younger or smaller bands bearing the brunt as well as less well off real music fans .

But as long as the Bourgeoisie get their tickets eh ..lol

I know but oasis gigs wouldn't be traceable on ticketmaster databases I imagine?? Hence why I said most of them would have attended solo gigs in past few years

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 420 ✭✭sh89000

Queing for tickets is over unfortunately. Just needs to be accepted. I do like paying for delivery rather than tickets. Was raging when wasn't an option for this gig

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,332 ✭✭✭crl84

    I'm sure they could.
I still have the confirmation emails in my email account from Ticketmaster (along with SeeTickets and other providers).

Fair enough. Wouldn't have thought they'd go back as far as 2009/05 etc.

My ideal solution that will never happen is:

Ticket sales start at 9am in physical outlets in the country of the gig.

    Online sales start at 12pm.

I've started a new thread to discuss Ticketmaster and dynamic pricing .Please keep this thtread for discussing Oasis and next year's tour

    Thanks

Lets look at this another way. Far less knacks at the gig. Jesus the amount of them going to Marlay Park back in 2005 (probably more in Slane but i didnt see that one)

As Smithers says to Mr Burns… "It's a policy that ensures a healthy mix of the rich and the ignorant"

Dynamic pricing is a service offered by Ticketmaster. Yes Oasis had to OK it but if it wasn't a service on offer to them they'd have to adhere to a fairer system.

I'm not absolving the artist of their own greed here, I'm observing that they are able to indulge it in this way precisely because Ticketmaster allow them to.

EDIT, only seeing Mod note after posting. @Beasty delete or move as needed.

    Glazers Out!

your able to indulge in cheap flights because of the dynamic pricing model which allows air carriers to offer such prices and make profits on peak demand flights

Do we think that by next year's gig will see the Gallaghers touring a la the Rolling Stones.

Not engaging with each other, arriving separately, keeping to themselves and just doing their thing on stage independent of each other?

Or is possible they'll co-exist peacefully?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 420 ✭✭sh89000

Paper reported they'll be kept separate bar on stage...not sure if theres much truth to it

Will be interesting if they do any media sessions in next few months

It's €20 a week for the next year, there are people paying that on cigarettes every day.

Couldn't get Dublin but I got 4 standing tickets for Manchester (11th July). ideally would like to swap with someone who got Dublin but would prefer Manchester, for any Dublin date. Is there a (safe) way to do this if i found someone, assume there's no mechanism in the Ticketmaster resale site for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 wayuphigh

Releasing two of these tickets now, if anyone interested , check out Ticketmaster resale tickets for the Saturday night

Suppose if 'Eagles' can tour together with all them hating each other, Oasis surly can

** checks in to see if concert is being talked about yet, or if it’s still the ticket fiasco rant….

confirmed the latter, time to check out again for another week, then try again! 👋

The difference being that hotels and airlines aren’t extremely limited and guaranteed to sell out. Dynamic pricing in these business typically benefits the consumer - instead of an airline offering a flat rate and having the busiest flights busy anyway and the non busy flight empty because there’s no incentive, the consumer can find an option that fits their budget while the airline can still generate the same revenue.

For a gig though, it’s definitely poor practice. These were guaranteed to sell out, there was enough people in the queue to buy all tickets before they went on sale, and there was nothing that a consumer could do to give themselves a better chance at getting a ticket - they are entirely dependent on Ticketmasters algorithm to tell them where they are in the queue.

Don’t have an issue with high prices or the process of being assigned a random queue number(there really isn’t a fairer way), but charging one person multiples of what another person paid because your own platform randomly assigned a bigger number to them is incredibly anti-consumer and would love to see that practice stopped.

Beasty opened a seperate thread to discuss dynamic pricing. I'm guessing the mods will start deleting those posts on here from now.

For those who registered for the ticket ballot (successfully or not) and don't want to give Oasis any more revenue opportunities, remember to unsubscribe | Delete your account!

Sounded like overkill, the information they were looking for IMHO

My emailed request below sent to info@openstage.live

    Hi,

Please remove and delete all information held within your system and shared with the Oasis organisation, as it relates to the email above, which was provided as part of the Oasis Live '25 ticket ballot.
The information provided included, but was not limited to full name, emails, city, location, date of birth and mobile telephone number.

There’s been some minor rumours of an album with Noel going to the studio, probably a mix of both. Certainly won’t be in a little van travelling together but I’m sure they’ll keep it together even if it is for the money. And there’ll definitely be a lot of money going for whoever gets their first on screen interview together

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,608 ✭✭✭TheIrishGrover

TPH, I think there's a 50% chance they'll puck the heads off eachother 3 nights in and cancell the rest.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 6,608 ✭✭✭TheIrishGrover

I had also created one on Current Affairs/IMHO. @Beasty feel free to merge them if you wish

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,072 ✭✭✭✭Basq

I think there'll be a certain amount of animosity between them.. I think there probably always has been.

Wouldn't be surprised if they start playing up to it and have a few theatrical jibes on stage towards one another.

But I'd be amazed if they don't see at least the European dates through given (I'd assume) there's a pretty hefty "no-play-no-pay" clause in the contract.

EDIT: Quite a good interview here with Noel released in the last week in which he speaks quite warmly of Liam..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,072 ✭✭✭✭Basq

For what it's worth - while their performances individually can be patchy at best, I just think it'll be refreshing to see them play together on stage again.

I'm not expecting to be blown away by the gig to be honest, but am looking forward to seeing how it all pans out.

The way I would put is Oasis are very much the mass market pop rock product that millions “buy into”.

The Wolfe tones are the equivalent mass market rebel band “product” - extremely popular.

Both are hugely popular mass market acts - hence good idea to have the WTs support.

The tout has been cut out and replaced by Ticketmaster.

it doesn't matter to me if I'm paying over the odds to a tout or ticketmaster, the bottom line is the same to me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,169 ✭✭✭✭Beechwoodspark

what I would love to see happening at the Croke Park gigs is -

halfway through the concert without warning the fans storm the stage. Pre arranged signal to coordinate everyone.

Overpower security. Cut the music over the PA.

Plug out the Mikes and speakers.

The leader of the fans reassure crowd it will be sorted soon.

    Surround Noel and Liam.

“Convince” them to credit back everyone who paid “over the odds” for tickets.

Once agreed. Plug in mikes and speakers.

Let Noel and Liam speak to agree to the arrangement. Written signed agreement

Fans withdraw, untie security, allow concert to continue.

At end of set fans rush back on stage and take LG to a “secret location” until Noel gets the money back to everyone account the following working day.

Once Everyone happy - Liam released at Dublin City centre.

    It would be epic !!

And teach them a good lesson on how to treat loyal fans.

Are you releasing him in Dublin City Center to avoid having to stab him yourself? 😀
