Has anyone ever tried transferring points from Vueling to Aer Lingus? I flew a round trip with Vueling last week and earned a few points but trying to figure out how to transfer them to AerClub is really confusing.

Tried lots of clicking about on the Vueling website and can't find any way to do it but a few articles I found on google suggests it should be possible, one says to transfer to BA first then to Aer Lingus but the on the Vueling website it says it's not currently possible to transfer to BA

This is really crap. Is there a source for this news? I wonder if these changes will take place immediately or effective from people's anniversaries.

Reading elsewhere that the 2 free flights and 2 free lounge passes are very little compared to the 40K Avios.
Apparently a couple of AerSpace tickets will grant you Silver status and lounge access anyway.

Or you could find yourself a Concierge Card member and get Silver gifted to yourself.

I'll have a look to see if it's possible, thanks. Very convoluted 🙄

I think you are being a bit disingenuous there. "a couple of AerSpace tickets"??

Aer space seats earn you 50 tiers per one way flight, you need 301 to get silver so you would need to take 7 AerSpace one way flights. AerSpace flights are generally 300% of a plus fare (and 500% of the base fare) together with it being a short flight means very few private people will piss that amount of money away and its not allowed by the majority of business travelers.

To add, the down side of the silver card is no companion into the lounge so I found the credit card handy where you had two opportunities to bring a companion into the lounge with you. Having the silver card and travelling with friend / family who doesn't have access to the lounge means you wont even bother with the lounge.

If they do remove the lounge perk from the credit card then Ill cancel and just use the revolut metal which all in all is a better product (can also earn avios) and order a basic credit card for things like car hire.

    Hi all

My avios never tracks anymore when I make purchases through the estore. What am I doing wrong? Last one that actually tracked was a book depository purchase last Feb

You need to make sure cookies are on and be almost anally correct in how you enter tge estore tgrough the aerlingus portal

Make sure you have closed any independent visit to the site you are buying from and delete it's cookies before going through the aer lingus portal

Yeah I've cookies enabled all the time so it boggles my mind why they aren't tracking anymore

this seems to have been premature - the BOI website now says this is not confirmed and any reference to the changes now removed…

    Important

Bank of Ireland has been working on a revised Aer Credit Card offering in recent weeks. An update in relation to this revised offering was posted to this page recently. This has now been removed pending further review.

The existing terms and conditions for the Aer Credit Card rewards (available here) remain in place. These are the terms and conditions that apply to the Aer Credit Card. If there are any changes to the offering in the future we will be in touch with our customers at that time.

We would like to apologise for any confusion caused for our customers

I booked a flight through Avios for EI for 4 people.

The travel doc I got refers to having 20kg luggage included (I presume this is per person).

But when I check on the Aer Lingus website, it says we do not have that 20kg checked bag.

    Who is right here?

Agree, it is include but. I have had issues at tag and drop as the EI system did not accept I had a bag (as per post) - when I went to a human attended desk, no issues.

Depending on when you are travelling allow a little time just in case.

I've had massive issues with Aer Lingus reward flights and baggage - normally from out stations.

Twice from CDG I've been forced to pay for bags that were already included, once got a refund from EI customer support, other time they were giving me the run around so I just did a chargeback.

I also had issues last January, 4 of us checked in bags that happened to be under 10kg except for mine. No issues leaving Cork we checked in at the desk with the avios booking, aer lingus employee was very apologetic that he couldn't seat 4 of us together, not that we needed to sit together, 2+2 was the best he could do for us. Coming back all our bags checked in, again mine only over 10kg, Spanish airport employee trying to explain that I was only allowed 10kg, me trying to explain that I had on paper I was entitled to 20 got lost in translation, eventually she gave a big sigh and left it off. Will probably only bring 10kg bags next time as we'll take reward flights over but pay for the flights home

Bring printed versions of the travel documents with you

My last aerlingus flight avios receipt from march clearly stated the 20kg bag

I had it on the phone and on the booking confirmation but they were adamant "computer says no"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,920 ✭✭✭pureza

That would be the point,I'd be mentioning law, looking for supervisors and managers etc

You'd certainly be within your rights to do the chargeback imho ,if for lack of hassle sake you paid it,and of course complain

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 179 ✭✭user060916

Ye, first time I eventually got a refund. Second time I got a refusal to refund email from EI and just immediately charged back. Happened to my mate as well and we just charged back straight away before we even boarded the plane.

Chargeback is a good way to get blocked from future bookings - they have all your details to identify you - I can understand your frustration but, think of the longer term before go for nuclear option as 1st resort.

Trying to figure this part out so any help would be gratefully appreciated….

How to I connect aer club accounts? I have one and my wife does too. I want to get a combined points at checkout screen and use them book a rewards flight for 2 of us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,373 ✭✭✭goingnowhere

    You can't…

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,920 ✭✭✭pureza

well technically you can by setting up a family account in BA

First set up the 2 BA accounts for Mr and Mrs

Get mr aerclub avios transferred to Mr BA executive club

Ditto Mrs aerclub to Mrs BA

Then combine both into a household BA account and voila @spannerism Your avios points are combined

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping there was some sort of household booking combination option.

Is this the way to go?

    I book reward flight
Hope there is 2 more reward seats left and my wife books one for herself and my son.

If not…then I go on holidays?!?
