Jakob has a real effeminate/womanly look.. just an observation..

    A big field there.

All the runners who were reinstated after the pile-up in the first SF. The same could happen here if the pace isn't honest.

They apparently opted to make their own travel arrangements. So if that's true it was they who opted for the aircoach

That was as easy for Jakob as the 1500m final was hard.

I would have loved the refugee athlete to get a medal there.

If he has a voice left.

Fisher takes bronze for the USA, as he did in the 10000m.

Real shame for Tamberi, he did well to make the final (just about). He has been in hospital with renal issues seemingly.

Does Adeleke now run in the womens relay? bit unfair on the one who misses out having made the final

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,128 ✭✭✭✭walshb

yes, had a bit too easy look off it. The opposition seemed to have no pace the final 400

Happy to see Jakob win. He made it look so simple.

    Looking forward to this 1500

Totally random question, but why is Kipyegon's bib pink and all others white?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,525 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Wow quick start to 1500 people dropping off the back already. Kipyegon in a good spot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,525 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Olympic record for Kipyegon, hull then bronze for Bell (clever race from her)

Muir left herself too much to do.

    That was a dominant defence.

Bell did great to get bronze.

Muir did all she could, too far back from the early pace.

Kipyegon (OR), Hull, Bell is the 1-2-3

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,796 ✭✭✭✭sligeach

Kipyegon with gold in a new Olympic record. Hull finishing 2nd and Bell finishing 3rd, both should be happy with their result, particularly for Bell.

    Another win for Kenya*.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 886 ✭✭✭klr87

Laura Muir ran a PB in 5th, but actually lost her NR to Bell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,525 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

I think she was shocked by that early pace, took a lot of work for her to make her way back.

    Excellent from Bell.

Times insane in the women's 1500 ,even muir pb'd

Standard practice, all the teams will have runners who didn't run the Semis. If Ireland medal the McGrory will get one too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 35,525 ✭✭✭✭gmisk

Big smile on Hulls face nice to see.

Look at those times for the 2nd, 3rd and 4th : I'm not sure whether a fully fit Mageean could have contended here…..she would have needed to knock four seconds off her PB.
