A few other observations (PMRDA) after a few months of usage:

    • The occasional beep
      • yes, it happens sometimes
      • yes, it does not cut during the beep
      • yes, it usually happens during a turn
But as far as I could tell, the beep is a warning before starting the cutter motor (like when the mower exits the docking station and starts mowing)
So I think the real question is, why is the cutting motor stopping before a turn or at all during mowing (it's definitely not every turn :))
    • Happened only once (today): after a few days of rest, I couldn't start the mower manually (from the app), so I've checked the mower.
It basically did some kind of reset, I had to select language, set the date/time, and (drumroll please) PIN!
But it did not forget the WiFi settings :) Right after setting these few settings, I could start it again from the app (history of faults/worked hours reset too).
    • Docking fails for me as well sometimes, what really bothers me that it backs up too little, and wants to turn, but it gets usually stuck in that little side fence, and just gets stuck after a while (sometimes it can dock the 2nd time) - this could be easily improved by firmware.
    • The keypad beep / warning beep is very annoying, especially considering the above (occasional beeps during mowing), at least the keypad beep should be configurable :)
    • Entering the PIN for basically anything is annoying as hell, I know it's an anti-theft feature, but come on… It should be enough to require the PIN every hour or so, or before changing the PIN.

    Hi All,

I'm having the same issue on 2 mowers. Both bought last year and were both working really well.

There was a firmware update at the end of July. 1 updated on 27 July, the 2nd on the 29 July. Both didn't do there scheduled cuts and when I checked, both had done a factory reset. I had to re enter time, date, etc.

Then both would run for a few minutes and stop. The app is showing motor over- current fault. On the mower display it says motor fault 2.

Both mowers are pretty clean, with no buildup of grass underneath.

It's not a moisture issue as both charging stations are in a similar boxed house that mac25 built.

If I manually power them off and on again, they will run for approx 20 mins and same fault again. Same happens if I restart it again. I have tried factory resets, and no change.

Anybody have any sucess fixing this. Seems strange, that both developed this fault after a firmware update.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks.

I had the reset issue after the update. Pin, date/time needed re-entering but it had remembered the WiFi settings. Mine hasn't stopped due to overheating yet thankfully but for some reason is now getting itself stuck by running in to the charging station in its house at a weird angle and not being able to get out. It then shuts down after a while. Very strange

I have 2 of the older PMRDA robots (the ones with the water ingress issues) and both of them have developed this motor over current error also. 1 of them will only run for a minute or 2 after resetting it after the other whilst the other will run fo most of the day. Anyone any ideas why this is happening or how to fix it? I also have 1 of the newer PMRDA ones (the ones with the upgraded keypad) and do not have this error with this one so its very strange!

hello, sorry if this has been covered, but I’m intermittently getting the error message “please replace adapter” when returned to the station. Any ideas?

Clean the contacts of the mower and the charging station, usually they get dirty or oxidated, also you can lubricate it with a battery grease or something similar

I'm having issues with the scheduled mowings. It's only worked once as far as I know. What would be preventing it operating? Rain settings on?

Update v0.4.8 just landed for A1 model, and it says in the notes:

    Fix hardware overcurrent error

Hopefully it will work without any issues now

how do folks get the update on the mower. the wifi doesnt reach where the mower is docked so never gets connected. If I bring it into house it says its outside of mowing area.

Maybe as a temp solution connect it to a phone, or hotspot, or use some wifi extender

Thanks for the update Gedven. When I go to version check it says its the latest version. When I check what version that is it's saying v0.4.7 build Jul 18 2024. Any ideas how to get it to recognise the latest version?

I can confirm that the v0.4.8 update appears to have fixed the over-current issue. Mine has been running for 1.5 hours now without hitting the error.

i think it should update automatically then your robot will be at the station. You can check Lidl Home app, go to your profile, message center, at the top part of the screen you should see 3 icons, check the middle one(little house), it should say when the firmware was updated, you don't need to check it from a robot menu.

Check the 2 wire connector at the back of the docking station. I got caught with that , the mower was dislodging it. Eventually, I put a small sand bag there to block the mower.

Thanks again gedven. I checked that and it's still saying version v.0.7. I had it on the charging station but it still didn't update. I did a factory reset and stll no luck! Hopefully the software upgrage might go through overnight. My other prmda a1 robot actually did update to v.0.8 so at least one of them is working!.

Maybe a silly question but is there any software updates to worry about on the smaller 500sq mtr. mowers ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 thegaels

Hopefully not. As these don't have WiFi enabled I'm not sure how they would get the update. Maybe you have to go into the settings on the robot and update it manually?

My mower suddenly stops itself and the text "Emergency stop" is shown on the display. It can be restarted but the problem repeats after several minutes or hours. The stop button is in a correct position and the cover is not elevated.

oh, haven't come across that one yet! Sorry, no idea..You probably need to report it and get it replaced..

Is the battery ok and recharging etc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 dostapav

Unfortunately, battery and charging are ok. I have disabled the Stop button but it did not solve the problem.

This is a great thread. I bought one of the smaller 500sq metres for a small garden at the front and it's doing a lovely job. I have a bigger garden at the back and sides so if anyone is selling the bigger 1000sq metres one let me know please as Lidl probably won't have them again until next year.

where could you see the notes? (mine updated too for 0.4.8 without me realizing, with auto update turned off 🙄 )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,022 ✭✭✭GhostInTheRuins

    Edit: ignore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 Peck07

Also, did you notice the Hedgehog protection in the settings? :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 409 ✭✭ra0044

Are these features such as auto update and hedgehog protection in the app or on the machine itself ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6 Peck07

I think auto update can be configured on the mower as well, but I don't mess with the mower if not necessary,

    I meant the app.

The Emergency stop problem seems to be solved by restoration to the factory setting.
