Mens 1500m and women's 200m could be crackers!

I think 1500m WR could go if the two lads don't get too strategic. I think Kerr has Jakob in a strategic race.

Hoping someone pushes Gabby in the 200m, so it's not a just a stroll. Alfred or Ofili might be the best fit.

When did I say you were not entitled to do something???

Maybe picking up a book and learning to read would do you some good over screaming into the void…

It's OK to watch rte and expect just a little bit more when it comes to the Olympics.

The pool and track, basketball and cycling have been good in terms of commentary and co commentary. Boxing.. I'm not a Hugh Cahill fan, I think he tries too hard to be the everyman.

From the couch, only the swimmers have shown a bit of emotion when talking through some points.

At the front of house, Darragh Moloney has been shockingly bad. From his howlers at the opening ceremony. His brief was.. describe it to everyone as if they have had a lobotomy or are drunk. And he aced it. He's been packaged as Mr Main Event but he aint it.

I actually don't even blame him. I can near enough hear the producer telling him to stay in the middle of the road.

Nobody hate watches but we deserve better than the same old dross at Montrose. And poor Ryle on the scrap heap. He'd have been a good front person. Or Evanne or Jacqui.

And zero link to the Game On crew.

I was reading earlier about how the poor hammer throwers exist in a world outside the rest of the athletics programme throughout the season, except for the Olympics/Worlds etc where they get invited to join the party.

Other than that they are ostracised by the likes of the Diamond League - the necessary netting is too cumbersome to arrange for a speedy 4-hour evening meet, and the host venues don't like the damage the hammer does, destroying the turf and potentially even the heating/pipe system under the turf.

So the rest of the year they do the hammer as untelevised standalone events in tiny venues in front of just a few hardcore fans for basic money.

That parade of champions is a great addition to the Olympics

The 3:26 is an insane WR. Can’t see it going here. WRs generally broken in paced/organised/structured races.

    I reckon 3:29.x wins it

Hmmm I wasn’t that impressed by MHS. If he runs like that in the final he won’t be winning any gold

France eliminate Canada 82-73 in bball, a Canada that is essentially an NBA team. France's 3 top scorers and best players were all Euroleague guys.

We played it in primary school and had competitions against other schools. I loved it and played in goal

Clayton excellent in that first heat in 400m hurdles.

Shame for Nielsen falling at final hurdle she was well placed to finish third.

There was audible laughter from the production crew when he came out with that😂.

McLaughlin-Levrone sensational in that second 400m hurdles. Looked like a stroll for her, 52.13 easing up!

A 51 flat likely takes gold. Possibly lower
