I was wondering who owns most of the golf clubs in Ireland.

Lets take for example the two clubs on Bull Island in Dublin;

The Royal Dublin Golf Club

St Anne's Golf Club

Who owns these and is it possible for external parties to obtain their latest set of accounts?

Most golf courses are owned by the associated golf club.

The members of the club can obviously see the annual accounts.

I see no reason to make the annual account public?

If they are company owned accounts should be available

Members owned accounts are available to members only.

Are you compiling a book or something?

Most traditional golf clubs are member owned.

Many of the newer clubs - established since the 1990's are commercial entities. They are often associated with hotels etc. A lot of these have been bailed out by NAMA.

THe European golf club is up for sale at the moment in county wicklow.

35 million if anyone on boards interested in buying it.

A guy called pat ruddy owns it. He is a former sports journalist and founded the club.
