Just as long as they don't ask her to put some documents on the cloud, up there!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,314 ✭✭✭erlichbachman

The cloud one is just funny, on the other hand the inflation one is pretty scary, I mean its like the lady has just heard the term for time in her life, Trump is just funny stupid but Kamala is dangerously stupid

Treat covid with bleach stupid, or stop a hurricane with a bomb stupid. Or maybe change the direction of a hurricane with a sharpie stupid. Which one of these is she more dangerously stupid than.

If he swallows bleach or tries to stop a bomb or a hurricane then he only hurts himself and we can laugh at him, however Kamala fcuking up inflation could send millions into poverty worldwide, not so funny that one.

Please name a “woman leading the most powerful nation in the world” that’s qualified to run and win the 5 November 2024 presidential elections that you would vote for rather than Trump. There are over 89 million registered women voters for 2024, millions over 35 and natural born US citizens for you to pick from according to Effectv.

Do you honestly believe the President of America can on their own impact inflation? Tell me how that works? I am open to hearing a funny take.

More of a meritocracy man myself, if a list candidates was proposed based on merit then I’m sure there would be women on there but I can’t think of any now.

But make no mistake, Kamala would not be on anybody’s list.

given her father is an American economist and professor emeritus at Stanford University, known for applying post-Keynesian ideas to development economics, I'd say she's has a fairly good idea.

His 1978 book Capital Accumulation and Income Distribution critiques mainstream economic theories, using mathematical modeling to propose an alternative model for thinking about the effects of capital accumulation on income inequality, economic growth, instability, and other phenomena.

I never joke about inflation, She would be selecting the people for pivotal roles, a rather difficult assignment when the basic fundamental understanding of topics is lacking, it’s kind of wasteful speculation though cause there ain’t a snowballs chance in hell that the American people will vote for her, 4 more years of the Donald is pretty much nailed on here.

Trump is bringing black people up on stage with him tonight… I wonder what that’s all about ?

I don’t think she’s read the book though, I mean I posted the link thinking someone was going to point out that it was AI generated to make her look thick, but no, seems legit. Tbf if Joe Biden with dementia and Kamala are in the room together then she’s the smartest person in the room, but the standards are pretty low.

    Hmmm…

Currently besting him by 1% on opinion polls.

    And also this:

The betting trends, over the last two weeks. There's still over 3 months to go.

I wonder how much of a snowball you're talking about here? Looks to me like people are just waking up and they are tired of the snake oil seller who's only in it for himself.

Yes Trump supporters are thick. At least you admit that much.

I'm really not following your line of thinking here, maybe we are watching different videos. Are you legitimately comparing Donald Trumps ability to understand economics (lie steal cheat and kill) and Harris's response to a question about the Bidens build back policy? Trump wants to give tax breaks to the wealthy and deprive middle income earners of the benefits of the affordable healthcare act. It may sound like drivel but I doubt many candidate's would choose to answer these questions by giving a dissertation on 'Inflation, Capital Accumulation and Economic Growth: A Theoretical and Numerical Analysis.'

I can't say whether she's read her father's book but I'd be surprised if she isn't familiar with his work, specifically enough to know what inflation is and how it works. She's been in office for four years, that's enough time to obtain a PhD in economics and it looks like she's much better equipped to debating the issues now than she was as a newbie on the job.

I just don't understand how anyone could posit anything even remotely intellectual about Donald Trump or laud in his ability to govern. The guy is clearly a mentally deranged criminal psychopath, it's just insane.

You claim that: “Kamala would not be on anybody’s list.”

    1. What about donor’s list? According to abc7chicago.com “Vice President Kamala Harris raised $310 million, double the amount Trump did in July.”
    2. What about national Zoom lists of hundreds of thousands in the past 2 weeks? Just one of many: White Dudes for Harris “lasted more than 3 hours and the organizers said it attracted 180,000 plus people who donated more than $3.7 million” according to abcnews.go.com.
    3. What about the Democratic presidential nomination delegate list? “US Vice President Kamala Harris has passed the threshold to clinch the Democratic presidential nomination in a vote of party delegates” according to BBC News 2 August 2024.
    4. What about the Harris landslide victory for US Senator? “In the general election, Harris defeated Sanchez in a landslide, carrying 54 of the state’s 58 counties” according to en.wikipedia.org.

Death Threats. All too often people who criticize or judge or prosecute or testify against Trump get death threats. Sometimes these death threats are also extended to family members. Is this the new normal in America under Trump?

“Journalist Rachel Scott received death threats following her interview with former President Donald Trump…” according to NPR reporter Eric Deggans 3 August 2024.

Saramucci reckons Trump could drop out if he thinks he's going to lose. It's certainly trending that way. Picking Vance and and attacking Harris have been really dumb moves.

Losing again him the worst president/presidential candidate in terms of losing elections in Republican history. Losing leaves him at risk of jail to.

Given how crazy the race has been to date, I wouldn't rule it out

    Chomsky(2017) on the Republican party

"Has there ever been an organisation in human history that is dedicated, with such commitment, to the destruction of organised human life on Earth?"

no CEO / president / presidential canditate / etc has to have a ‘ handle’ on all subjects . The ‘trick’ is that they are smart enough to hire individuals with the required knowledge/ expertise and that they do not hold onto their ego - if they have one- while making serious decisions , etc. Also people in new jobs take time to ‘ READ’ themselves into it.

I sincerely hope - if she gets elected- that she listens to the Chief Medical Officer - by way of example- when it comes to expounding on medical advice to the nation and not do a runner on what’s good and not good for you.
RE!EMBER THE BLEACH EPISODE. REMEMBER THE ADVICE ON MASKS. Do I need to go on?

While I enjoy Scaramucci's takes and insights, I just cannot see any path to Trump leaving the race. His ego simply won't let him do so. The biggest possible tweak that I think he'll make to his campaign is to drop Vance as well as some campaign staff, but Trump feels no sense of duty to his party because he considers his party a host to parasitically exploit for his own benefit. He's not going to selflessly do anything which might benefit it.

If the argument is that Trump would leave the race in order to make way for a more electable candidate who would then pardon him as a quid pro quo or cancel the prosecutions altogether, again I don't think this would come to pass because Trump's pig-headed combative nature wouldn't allow him to accept that he did anything wrong. When people come after him, he wants to go after them.

Besides all of that, the party has already had its convention and early voting ballots aren't that far from being printed in some states. Unless Trump's numbers spectacularly nosedive in the next 2 or 3 weeks to the point where it looks like there is absolutely no path to victory, then there just isn't going to be time to make this decision. It remains the case that Trump and Harris are neck and neck, with Trump arguably having a very small lead. Although the situation has deteriorated for Trump, it's not at a point of panic.

I have long thought that if Trump had a way to have all of his major legal troubles disappear in exchange for dropping out, then he would jump at the chance. Anything at this stage that allows him to play golf every day and keeps him out of prison.

Think it’s unrealistic to expect it to be offered, though. Apart from the minefield of federal interference in state cases, it’s a terrible look for the justice system, and offering it would make the democrats look desperate.

I do agree with his opinion on Vance, though. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s working on getting him replaced after the Democratic convention - replacing him with Haley would be the obvious choice - and while replacing his VP pick makes him look weak and indecisive the benefits of bringing in votes would outweigh it imo.

I think picking Haley as VP would do very little for Trumps campaign. Haley voters are backing Harris despite her telling them not to - why ? Because at there core they are never Trumpers and would not go back to a Trump ticket even with Haley . They are lost to the Republicans for this election cycle so choosing her would be another wasted opportunity.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,318 ✭✭✭✭briany

I don't think that Trump can stand Haley and I also don't think he wants anyone on the ticket who would possibly overshadow him.

Trump's own words on this were very telling - he said in a recent interview that the VP didn't matter. Doesn't sound like a man who would then agree that the VP needs to be switched out in order to save his campaign.

Trump most likely isn't thinking, 'what if my polling continues to slide?' because I don't think his ego would allow it, and Trump is still ahead in the polls. In fact, to go back a bit on my previous post, he's still got a decent lead in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Even if his numbers continue to slide, it might not get to the point of red alert, pull the ripcord, until the opportunity has passed to add anyone new to the ticket.

If he tries to stop a hurricane with a nuclear weapon he only hurts himself?

    Jesus, now who's dangerously stupid?

While they may lose some of Haleys votes(I do think a significant numbrt of Haley supporters would vote Trump if she was VP though, given his age and the possibility of her having the chance to become president during his term), I think a ticket with Haley looks far more appealing to moderate voters, and republican women voters in general.

I don’t think he’d actually do it though. It goes against his campaign anti-progressive ideals and he wouldn’t want to give her any credit on the ticket, it has to be all about him.

Vance could be replaced as he’s showing to be incredibly unpopular, and while Trump could make a big difference in his campaign by doing it, he’d likely shoot himself in the foot by picking another substandard guy just so they don’t outshine him, which is hilariously pathetic.
