Yeah hopefully this makes the flow of the site a little better from last year - the disconnection of Arcadia, Ping Pong etc. was a major gripe of mine so a positive change!

Looks like the AVA stage is where Arcadia was in 2018/2019 which I personally thought was a great location.

Seems like a few changes in the campsites too with the Londis moving more central.

    Excitement is seriously building now!!

    Where are you seeing that?
The pathway at the bottom of the Arcadia field is the same one that was there last year, that leads you into the Bandstand field, and you have to swing a hard left to get into the Lovely Days field.
Looks the same on the event licence too.

We were dropped off on Thursday last year. Were just directed to usual drop off spot by stewards

From the official map, although from looking at it again, it looks like it may only loop back to Arcadia and not quite up to Lovely Days.

yes just in the app map, no insider knowledge! Based on the arrow flows and paths.

On the App but doesn't seem to be marked on that planning map. It seems to be open this year to us, was very frustrating last year to see it but not allowed to use it.

I'd be pretty certain that's just a simplified cartoon-y outline that doesn't actually go into the Lovely Days field. It's pretty much exactly the same location as the one that was open all last year, and is on the event licence map.

On the app map that bit between the path and the bridge, where you could perhaps go into the Lovely Days field, is completely blocked off and no access on the event licence map, which has much more detail.

The path that was closed in the Lovely Days field, that was supposed to be open last year, was to the right of the Lovely Days stage, and is marked as a production road now (and was used as a production road/path last year).

Yeah looks like maybe more connected to the Ealu le Grá area, which is a slight improvement, but getting there from the main arena feels like it is still a bit out of the way. Hopefully it won't be as mucky and it will feel a lot easier with dry ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,491 ✭✭✭crl84

There's no route/path from Lovely Days into Arcadia field on the map, that wasn't there last year.

The one on the app map, is the exact same one that was open all last year, and goes into the campsite. It's ther eon the planning map too.

E: Yellow line here is what I'm talking about. There's pretty much certainly no access through the red circle area, even if it looks like it on the app map. you still have to go through Bandstand field, no direct access from Arcadia to Lovely Days, as was the initial speculation.

Thanks. It seems odd, Bus Eireann website says services run to Curraghmore House, whatever that means . .

Thanks, As a matter of interest what is the usual drop off spot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 422 ✭✭sh89000

We were directed to the taxi/bus drop off. We might not have been meant to but wasn't a huge issue. The shuttle bus from portlaw was as handy the year before also

Oh right, I see what you mean. Not great news, won't lend itself to popping in as easily as pre-2023 location.

Are there any other sheltered areas to go if it pisses rain? Other than SKOW and the Well.

Are we seeing any craft beer bar possibilities on the map?

    hi guys,

can’t wait for the weekend. Just wondering does anybody have any campsite recommendations for a younger crowd?

Also, are they strict on the 24 can limit? Possible to sneak in more?

The campsites don’t really have a massive difference between them. Certainly nothing like Jimi Hendrix at EP. Camped in A Hard Days Night last year and had a mix of younger/older neighbors.

General consensus on cans is that they might count them, they might not. Will be a little over 24 myself so hoping for the latter!

I've been to a lot of festivals over the years and no one has ever actually counted the amount of cans I've brought in. A few times they've asked and kind of half-arsed looked in my bag but never actually counted. That being said I've never had much over the limit maybe like 30 or 24 cans and a bottle of something etc.. I'd say you'll be grand. I'd me more worried about getting caught with the other stuff based on last year, hide it well and be prepared to be asked if 'you've anything you you shouldn't have' by the fuzz upon entry

The Fuzz: "Have you anything you shouldn't have?"

Me: "Only if you count a sunny demeanour and a hankering for some dancing!"

    The Fuzz..

Had some absolute jobsworth count each individual can at Beyond the Pale which was a first. Hopefully it's not the same security company.

Ping Pong Disco and Ealu le Grá are covered. Then some of the bars such as the large Guinness one next to the well, the Schweppes tent, the big Rock shore bar near SKOW. Maybe a few others too but they're off the top of my head.

Any recommendations on where to camp/how to make the most of the weekend?

Also, of there's any other small groups/couples/solo polos who fancy meeting up for a drink/set?

First timer here. Haven't done a music festival since going to oxegen as a teenager (which was a less than positive experience)

Has anyone used the showers in general camping before? I've been spoilt in family camping the past few years but have no kids coming this year so am in general. Does the queue move quickly or is it as off putting as it looks? The queue in family was great, most people stripped off before and dried off afterwards in the communal area so it moved really fast. There was always a few who got dressed in the (soaking wet) shower cubicle and slowed the whole process down 😡

I went to festivals for years and never dreamt of bothering to queue, but it was so lovely to freshen up, I'd be tempted

Oxegen facilities would be considered pre historic compared to ATN I'd say, as said already most of the campsites are the same. A rule of thumb of a person is looking for a quieter spot would be to stay away from the high traffic areas as they would tend to be a bit madder.

Looking from the line-up there may be a bit of a madder crowd with the prodigy playing but previous experiences I've had with camping have always been positive.
