OK, where to even begin. Let's first refer back to the summary from politifact :-

#1 Many prominent Democrats say Donald Trump's win in the 2016 presidential election was tainted. 

#2 But their complaints don't align with Republican claims that the 2020 election, won by Joe Biden, was stolen.

#3 Democratic complaints in 2016 focused on events that happened during the campaign: Russian hacking to help Trump and a late October announcement that the FBI had reopened an investigation of Democatic nominee Hillary Clinton.

#4 Republican complaints in 2020 centered on disproven claims that Biden won because of a fraudulent vote count.

#5 Democrats in 2016 conceded that Trump was legally elected. Many Republicans, including Trump, still contest Biden's victory in 2020.

So, to start with, the complaint that Democrats had is supported by a 400+ page Special Counsel report and to surmise:-

The investigation produced 37 indictments; seven guilty pleas or convictions; and compelling evidence that the president obstructed justice on multiple occasions. Mueller also uncovered and referred 14 criminal matters to other components of the Department of Justice.

Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses.

A statement signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors concluded that if any other American engaged in the same efforts to impede federal proceedings the way Trump did, they would likely be indicted for multiple charges of obstruction of justice.

It goes on,

In 2015 and 2016, Michael Cohen pursued a hotel/residence project in Moscow on behalf of Trump while he was campaigning for President.[5] Then-candidate Trump personally signed a letter of intent.

Senior members of the Trump campaign, including Paul Manafort, Donald Trump, Jr., and Jared Kushner took a June 9, 2016, meeting with Russian nationals at Trump Tower, New York, after outreach from an intermediary informed Trump, Jr., that the Russians had derogatory information on Clinton that was “part of Russia and its government’s support for Mr. Trump.”[6]

Beginning in June 2016, a Trump associate “forecast to senior [Trump] Campaign officials that WikiLeaks would release information damaging to candidate Clinton.”[7] A section of the Report that remains heavily redacted suggests that Roger Stone was this associate and that he had significant contacts with the campaign about Wikileaks.[8]

The Report described multiple occasions where Trump associates lied to investigators about Trump associate contacts with Russia. Trump associates George Papadopoulos, Rick Gates, Michael Flynn, and Michael Cohen all admitted that they made false statements to federal investigators or to Congress about their contacts. In addition, Roger Stone faces trial this fall for obstruction of justice, five counts of making false statements, and one count of witness tampering.

The Report contains no evidence that any Trump campaign official reported their contacts with Russia or WikiLeaks to U.S. law enforcement authorities during the campaign or presidential transition, despite public reports on Russian hacking starting in June 2016 and candidate Trump’s August 2016 intelligence briefing warning him that Russia was seeking to interfere in the election.

The Report raised questions about why Trump associates and then-candidate Trump repeatedly asserted Trump had no connections to Russia

In short, the Democrats largely had a right to complain in 2016, but they (including Hillary) conceded the election. Trump had no right to complain about the 2020 election in the way he did, which was to say that massive electoral fraud took place. No credible evidence was ever produced that anything untoward went on. Every case but one (and I believe this case was about a technical matter tangential to the election itself) was thrown out of court. Even the Arizona county recount performed by that outfit 'Cyber Ninjas' not only found no fraud like what was being claimed, it actually returned an increased tally for Biden.

This is before you even get into the respective parties' reactions. Here's Hillary at Trump's inauguration -

Well, this is a photo of him on inauguration day. He didn't actually attend the inauguration, as you know, because he is a bitter and spiteful little man.

And aside from being a spiteful and bitter little man, there's also the matter of his conduct on January the 6th, where he gee'd up a throng of his own followers to march down to the US Capitol in order to demand that those inside overturn a free and fair election. Something Hillary most assuredly did not do in January 2017, but 'shur they're all as bad as each other…'

And as the throng marched to and surrounded the Capitol, Trump tweeted out the following, to really cool the tensions,

Classy. Well, no. Paranoid, bitter, delusional, utterly irresponsible and so on, yes.

And before I forget, not only did Trump complain about the election after it happened, with no basis, he even did it before the election even occurred, with no basis.

"The only way we're gonna lose this election is if the election is rigged. Remember that."

Only on January 6th and 7th did Trump openly disavow the violence at the Capitol. In the weeks and months and years since then, he's only really rowed back on that. What's he calling them, now? Hostages, isn't it? The man evidently has no scruples.

This is all to illustrate how at no point before, during or since was the Democratic party view of and conduct around the 2016 election and Trump's view of and conduct around the 2020 one in any way morally equivalent, and therefore the point of 'well, the Democrats did it, too' is nonsensical and not based in reason or fact.

Trump and the GOP need to be careful with how much they push this Harris as Border Czar narrative.

Even if true, the easy response is that Trump was the czar during his term, it was one of his main policies as opposed to Harris who was operating under Biden, yet he failed to solve it.

So who did worse. The man that that promised to solve it, and get mexico to pay for the wall, or the VP given a secondary roll to review things.
