    So Im buying an electric bike - the max allowed is €1,500

    The bike is costing €3,500 - so how is the excess 2,000 handled?

    Does the company/employer pay the full amount (invoiced) and I repay the 2k to my employer - if so how, or are there any rules about it?

    Or do I pay the supplier the 2k directly

    Aplologies if this has been answered before , but I can't find it

    As above, the bike shop invoices your employer for €1500, and you for the balance.

    I'm sure this has been asked before, but (still) the search since the boards "upgrade"….

    Anyone in NSSO/ PeoplePoint clients brought from Canyon for above the €1250? I am taking it that you took part pay and then invoice for the remaining 1250?

    What do you mean? When can you back out up until? The purchase is no different from buying a bike in the shop, you can pull out until you hand over cash, after that it is case dependent.

    I presume you mean through a scheme, if the bike hasn't delivered of the voucher redeemed, just ring up the voucher supplier and cancel the voucher, then make sure your HR is aware to cancel the deductions. If they say no, tell the bike shop not to redeem the voucher and then ring them back and tell them to cop on and cancel it.

    If the bike is already in your hand, then it is a normal purchase and follows normal rules.

    Does anyone know how long it takes (average) for the cash to be finally transferred to the shop after the voucher is redeemed?

    The shop I'm going to buy from said it may take weeks. They will still order the bike from manufacturer (which will take weeks to arrive), and suggested me to hand over the voucher upfront, which I'm hesitant to do right now.

    If you're referring to the shyster middlemen who were paid by your employer to hand the money over to the shop then they will take as long as they can - as I understand it, some bike shops have been left waiting a number of months to receive payment.

    Yes, that's about them. Good to know.

    The bike shop asked for the code straightaway (at the same time of ordering the bike from the manufacturer) saying this is to save a few weeks waiting, as the money use to take several weeks to be paid.

    Anyone have any advice for the bike to work through the HSE and Halfords?

    My HR/Finance people took Halfords invoice and gave me a PO for Halfords to take and email for payment. Halfords dont seem to know what to do with it and want a "Letter of Collection". Is that not something something the HSE should provide after they process my salary sacrifice form and the invoice etc?

    is there a language I can speak to both parties to get the process finished? Bikes ready and waiting….

    Any help from others who navigated this would be appreciated!

    Hi, can you avail of two bikes on the bike to work scheme? I would like to get a fold up one for commuting and a second one for personal use.

    I didn't see anything on the site stating only one bike is allowed.

    Revenue refer to it as "a bicycle" and "the bicycle", so yes, technically it is one bicycle. While I imagine it is not impossible to discuss with your bike shop about an invoice for one bicycle, this would be tax evasion, and as such is forbidden on the site.

    Cheers for the reply, I know in the UK you can avail for two bikes, one for work and one for leisure. Pity Ireland doesn't follow suit.

    Can I get more than one bike?

    "Yes! If you would like to get two bikes you certainly can – as long as they are both suitable and safe for you to ride, and your total doesn’t exceed your scheme’s maximum limit"

    Also the max in Ireland is 1200 (unlike UK) so you would struggle to get two bikes including a folding one for that anyway

    That's a Halfords link (UK) not rhe legislation.

    The legislation (in UK) says you can buy two bikes but both must be used for commuting to work.

    Your proposal is one for commuting and one for leisure, which would not be allowed in the UK either.

    Hi, hope you can help on this. My wife is trying to get a bike from Halfords on the scheme, she has the invoice from Halfords and the department she is in is looking for bank account details to pay. I went to Halfords and they said the CS uses hubex.ie just forward the paperwork to them as Halfords dont issues bank account details. She says that it wont let her pass without bank details. Halfords chatbot/agents dont seem to know anything about the irish C2W scheme and the webpage for it is 404'd.

    Any suggestions (apart from "dont use halfords")

    biketowork.ie have a Halfords section which is biketowork.ie/halfords which covers 99% of PS and CS scenarios using Halfords. There should be no need to contact Halfords any other way AFAIK. You take a screenshot, log into the specific bike to work site for you, follwo the instructions.
