22 songs is 22 songs. In this day and age, people would probably rather hear them all in less time anyway.

It seems like a lot of the concert goers were children- don't want to seem all pearl clutchy but who in their right mind would willingly purchase tickets to see this gobsh*te for their children?? Her husband is a rapist, and she is a rape denier. She's known for showing up late or cancelling shows last minute, most of her songs are crap with RANK subject matter. I don't have an ounce of pity for anyone who would support that with their money.

A lot of the crowd seems fairly rough.

Also she seems to have a huge gay following for some reason.

Article about how to check out refund possibility or claim through court.... MCD haven't replied to requests for comment from Irish Times.

Not a hope they'll be refunding anyone

and I’m sure the hour long show wasn’t far off what she would normally do, maybe 75 -80 in other cities on this tour

She plays for 1hr 45 mins - 2hrs plus for standalone shows, Festival sets were shorter but Malahide wasnt a festival set.

Yeah her O2 London show in May was 2hrs 20minutes so it was all quite deliberate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,104 ✭✭✭Fanirish

her Stockholm arena show was 85-90 minutes. Paris show seemed to be longest at 1 hour 45 ish, but that looks like exception for europe.
malahide got short charged by at 30 -40 mins on average

That is a very weird comment.

22 songs is not 22 songs if you're not even playing half the songs.

People would rather hear them all in less time? 😂 sure didn't she do the concert goers a favour so.

Why not just play 22 ten second song clips and have everyone out in under 4 minutes. Best concert ever.

It's like sayin who wanted to watch Spain vs France for 90 mins last night when there's a 3 min highlight package? 😂

Was that in the point , 2006 I think?

I was there, we didn’t leave when asked, memory is hazy but I think we could have been sitting there a good hour, house lights on and people being told multiple times to leave as it was over.

eventually Axl came back on stage , but everybody that had left couldn’t get back in.

    Was a disaster.

Remember thinking it was gonna kick off early on that day, was just a bad buzz there, and to be fair even tho he was late he couldn’t stay on stage when he came on as he was getting pelted and abuse just hurled at him the whole time :-D

On the flip side, when he did come back on and all the disgruntled people had left, it was brilliant.

The truly great concerts are the ones you don't go to. Just stay at home and really enjoy the experience 😁

You're thinking of the same gig but it was a little after that, 2010. I ended up being one of the folks who left, definitely looked like they were done at that stage.

    Guardian article here about it:

    https://www.theguardian.com/music/2010/sep/03/guns-roses-bottled-offstage-dublin

2006 was their show in the RDS which I was at too and it was fantastic. Had high hopes for the 2010 gig as a result.

She was late for her Stockholm show and only came on at 10.45pm despite being scheduled for 7.30pm so was possibly caught by a curfue. Similar in Copenhagen the night before that.

She clearly has utter contempt and disrespect for her "fans" with the way she goes on (with delays, curtailed shows and cancelled shows) so whilst you can't blame those who aren't that familiar with her turning up for the first time, her die-hards continue to enable her shïtty behaviour by continuing to support her live.

yea that’s the one, it did get a bit hairy for a while and they were definitely done.
reading the article there I didn’t know they wouldn’t let AXL leave 😁.

2010. I stayed. Best gig I saw that year. Chaos.

yea, after he came back out it was brilliant.
can’t remember clearly, was it welcome the jungle where he walked off? And they came back out and just belted into that again and the place went crazy.

I found the clause that TB are using as agent for MCD/Aiken etc to cover themselves for these events:

    • 11.5 For the purposes of this Purchase Policy, a "material alteration" is a change (other than a rescheduling) which, in our and the relevant Event Partner's reasonable opinion, makes the event materially different to the event that purchasers of Tickets, taken generally, could reasonably expect. In particular, please note that the following are not deemed to be "material alterations": the use of understudies in theatre performances; adverse weather conditions; changes of any supporting act; changes to individual members of a band; changes to the line-up of any multi-performer event (such as a festival); curtailment of the event where the majority of an event is performed in full; and delays to the starting of the performance of an event.

So delays to the starting of the performance of an event are not considered a material alteration warranting a refund…BUT the clause is silent as to the length of the performance…so in that case given Malahide has a known curfew, which would have been known to Nicki and MCD, I think everyone who bought tickets has a stateable case here.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,104 ✭✭✭Fanirish

They will say that majority of event did occur thus not a material alteration. I.E she did 1 hour out of planned 80/90 minutes.

Was Welcome to the Jungle yeah. Axl ended up walking out a wrong door and was walking down the street before he was brought back. Played to a half empty arena until 1am.

I was at that GnR gig. Had seats.. wanted standing but couldn't get them at the time. House lights came on.. stewards told everyone to leave... raging. Just about to walk out the main door and we heard some people say they were coming back on... legged it the main stage.. right up front with f*ck all people at the start while Axl gave it socks. Magical memory. Detroit Rock City does Dublin !

I wouldn't even watch a 3 min highlight package. Don't even know the result. Same way I don't care what Niki Minaj actually sounded like.

Not true, if people contacted mcd they got an generic reply but anyone that pushed a few timesgot their money back, I gave up after 2 emails and heard from a friend a few months later he got his money back and a few other i have heard of since, sickened really as he stayed to see what they did perform but we had to leave cause of the drive home and people with us had work the following day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,710 ✭✭✭davywalsh7

i remember a few people got stung as well as whichever car park they were in was due to close

Keep at MCD if you are asking for a refund or other form of compensation. I hounded them after metallica at slane because they charged an extra tenner for general admission with some area a tenner cheaper at the back. I knew full well they weren't going to split the crowd and they didn't so i got a metallia fan pack sent to me. Not good enough, kept at them and after many months they offered me free ghost tickets which I was delighted about. I bought 4 tickets by the way so I got more than my 40 euro back really.

Was that in the 3 Arena? I saw them there, and a lot of people walked out after he left the stage. I ended up getting much better seats by moving up. He came back on, but just perfunctory performance. I assume it's written into his contract that he doesn't get paid if he walks off stage, as he's known for it. At the same time, why pay money to go see him, and then throw stuff at him? As far as I can remember, he even gave a warning, that he would walk off.
