I wouldn't think there's a huge amount of crossover between Nicki Minaj fans and Liveline listeners, tbh.

Its the crossover episode all parties deserve though.

Well if Joe is Joe, he'll not be working tomorrow.

He is basically part time now, and hasn't been on air in weeks.

A man of the people is Joe, works ~15 hours a week and earns 350k.

If it's Katie she'll go with the inappropriatey dressed angle and that her lyrics are setting a bad example for young Irish collens

    She did them a favour:

Uh, let's go to the beach-each
    Let's go get a wave
They say what they gonna say
Have a drink, clink, found the Bud Light
Bad bitches like me is hard to come by
The Patrón-ón? Let's go get it on
The zone-one? Yes, I'm in the zone
Is it two, three? Leave a good tip
I'ma blow all of my money and don't give two sh!ts, uh
    I'm on the floor, floor
    I love to dance
So give me more, more, 'til I can't stand
    Get on the floor, floor
    Like it's your last chance
    If you want more, more
    Then here I am
    Starships were meant to fly
Hands up and touch the sky
Can't stop 'cause we're so high
Let's do this one more time, oh
    Starships were meant to fly
Hands up and touch the sky
Let's do this one last time
    Can't stop (we're higher than a motherfcker)
Jump in my hoopty, hoopty, hoop, I own that
And I ain't paying my rent this month, I owe that
But fck who you want and fck who you like
Dancehall life, there's no end in sight
    Twinkle, twinkle, little star
Now everybody, let me hear you say ray, ray, ray
Go spend all your money 'cause today payday
    And if you're a G, you a G, G, G
My name is Onika, you can call me Nicki (woo)
    Get on the floor, floor
    Like it's your last chance
    If you want more, more
    Then here I am
    Starships were meant to fly
Hands up and touch the sky

This is mental reading all the posts about last night's fiasco. Today I've had flashbacks to a Katherine Jenkins concert at the 3Arena December 2012. I remember in particular as we had a serious family illness at the time and I bought the tickets as a treat.

The "concert" was around one hour fifteen minutes. Backing singers took most of the slack with KJ absent. Three costume changes and she sang about five songs.

Nicki and Katherine Jenkins, blood sisters for gigs, who'd have thunk it??

    I mean…. It’s pop music

It’s not supposed to be too in depth and thought inducing

how believable is that? 22 songs in ~50 minutes?

A load of fights in the crowd too. Looked horrific.

Liveline listeners don't need to have been involved/affected in ANY way to whinge or complain. They have regulars that they contact just to fill the airtime. Most won't have been at the gig but they'll still find a way to get their moans in.

If people's parents/relatives bought the tickets or knew they went they'd be phoning in you'd imagine. There's plenty of social media comments from parents.

Picked my niece up from this. An absolute shambles. She showed me some videos, she basically played about 30 secs of one song and then just jumped into the next one, hence the 22 songs!

Nicki Minaj is an all-round horrible human being so nothing is surprising.

Cancelled her show in Romania last night due to 'safety concerns being a mother' because of a tiny pretty much irrelevant tax protest planned for the day after (today). Complete bullshít excuse, she clearly just isn't arsed which seems to be a running theme. In the same tweet, says she is excited to play London.

It's all in her wheelhouse of shítty behaviour.

I hope this **** will be remembered by her fans. The absolute neck of this piece of work.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,704 ✭✭✭Zardoz

She had to cancel a number of shows earlier this year in Amsterdam and Manchester I think as she was caught with drugs in her luggage in Amsterdam.

    They arrested her.

    A complete imbecile.

100%. Might be no comeback/refund for Saturday but hopefully anyone who went remembers this on her next tour and she struggles to sell out Whelan’s.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,956 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

It's not 22 full songs, it's a medley of songs completely different.

For those who have a passing interest in her, I think you're right. But her 'fans' don't care.

Minaj's fans routinely go after after a woman who was the victim of first degree attempted rape by her husband in 1994 when she was 16 (which he pled guilty to and served four years in jail for). Minaj does nothing to stop them. As per an article in Complex:

Last month, Hough filed a lawsuit against Minaj and Kenneth Petty, claiming they’ve continued to harass her and pressure her to recant her story. Hough claimed Minaj personally contacted her to get her to recant, offering to fly Hough and her family to Los Angeles. The suit additionally claims Nicki’s team contacted Hough’s brother with a $500,000 cash bribe to get her to rescind the story.

If they don't have a problem with that behaviour, turning up late to a gig won't put them off her.

I was at Malahide last night and the professionalism from both Echo and the Bunnymen who started 15 minutes EARLY and Arcade Fire who played for over 2 hours with a blistering set with an interval in between was second to none.

I really feel for everyone who was there on Saturday night.
