It will be linked to your PMDS - the one you should have done sometime in January or February. You need to have a Satisfactory rating. But if you didn't, and you were on probation, you'd obviously be well aware of that by now.

Yes it is. You will skip twice. For eg pt 4 and pt 8 on the CO scale. Or if you get promoted to EO before you skip pt 8 you will skip pt 4 of the EO scale.

anyone knows what the last two scale points means? is it after 6 year of service and after that no more increments?

You spend 3 years at the top point then move onto LSI1 for 3 years then onto LSI2 and thats it then.

There’s no capacity to skip within the same incremental scale. There just isn’t. I don’t know where you’re getting your information.

If you get promoted to another grade, you move to a different scale completely with different amounts. The point at which you start on any such scale would depend on your salary at your previous grade. For example, if you were promoted to EO, you can’t be placed on an incremental post lower in value to what you might have worked up to as a CO.

Yes there is - it is part of pay restoration but you only skip the 2 points once - not again if you get promoted to EO

New entrants since 2011-ish at CO skip points 4 and 8 on the CO pay scale.

You move up at the 12 month point and every 12 months after that until you you get to the top of the scale

Contact your local HR unit, they can see that info on the system and can tell you when you last moved pay point

I work in a local authority and I'm curious to know what the term "new entrant" means in relation to the local authority grades and in particular, the skipping points 4 and 8 on the scale. All circulars always reference the Civil Service and it's sometimes difficult to understand the application to the local authority sector.

I started as a Clerical Officer in 2017 and got up to point 3 on that scale.

I got promoted to Assistant Staff Officer in 2020 and got up to point 2 on that scale.

I got promoted to Staff Officer in 2022 and got up to point 2 on that scale.

I got promoted to Senior Staff Officer in 2023 and will be on point 3 on that scale next month. Will my next increment be Point 5 (as I've never been on a point 4 of a scale and therefore can skip that point as per Haddington Road) or Point 4 (as Senior Staff Officer doesn't count as a "new entrant" grade).
