I use trading212. Commission free so can invest small amounts. Good forum in the app as well with information that helps. It also give 4.2% interest on cash not invested so even if you don't buy shares it's worth it for saving.

There's a thread for referrals on here that you get a free share worth up to €100, I've only got ~ 20 though but still its free.

You should never invest anything you can't afford to lose, so yes you are correct.

If you already have Revolut, their trading platform is quite decent IMO.

I also have Trading212 & eToro and they are also quite decent, while they trumpet low & zero fee trading, they do catch you on the spreads and FX rates.

It depends on your plan, standard account is 1 free trade a month, metal is 10. It's not a platform I'd recommend if someone is swing trading(only 3 days trades a month) or making anything more than a few trades a month (unless on metal). I have metal and find it handy on occasion to buy via Revolut rather than wait for cash to hit IB or one of my other trading accounts. The other handy thing is no custody fee.(On metal, not sure about other tiers)

Depending on your plan, you’ll be able to make a certain number of commission-free trades, within your plan’s rolling monthly allowance. The quotas for each plan type are:

    Standard: 1 trade

    Plus: 3 trades

    Premium: 5 trades

    Metal and Ultra: 10 trades

Any trades outside your monthly allowance will be subject to a commission fee. This will be 0.25% of the order amount if you are a Standard, Plus, Premium or Metal user, or 0.12% of the order amount if you are an Ultra customer, or the minimum fee of €1, whichever’s greater.
