Setting up solar battery storage questions

Looking at the battery cables, it doesn't look like they would fit into the MCB terminals. I can't find a single example of an MCB being used as an isolator switch for a 48V battery to inverter.

They seem to be used for PV or charge controller disconnects. Am I wrong?

I was wondering would ferrules compact them enough. So, they do? I have this in my basket. Big enough ferrules? Would prefer not to insert cable naked.

Got the structures done on 2 battery cabinets today. Used planed 44x100mm timber and 5x100mm screws. Only need to add support beams on the sides of the one in the pic below and then I can add the floor (18mm ply) and it's ready to hang. I'll be adding ply skin for extra rigidity and to house internal insulation later. I'm considering adding temperature activated fans, as these could get quite hot in the summer. The batteries will be inside these insulated cabinets and will also be mounted in an enclosed side entrance which will be great for the colder months, but might strain them in the warmer months.

I'll do a guide here when everything is done as a thank you for the help received here and elsewhere. I want to pay it forward. I'll cover the battery build, Seplos V3 BMS and Active Balancer wiring, Solis Inverter settings and the cabinet build. I'm not there yet, but I hope that by this time next week, the battery will be mounted and connected, or at the very least, connected to the inverter.

My PC died on me yesterday, so that has slowed me down and took up some of my time while I tried unsuccessfully to breathe some life into it. I now have to replace it and try to recover some of my important files.

It's just the frame. Still need to finish it. Couldn't do anything today because I am sorting my PC. This is the first post from it. 😃

I wanted something solid to keep the batteries in to keep them safe from kids and where I can also mitigate against the cold weather. It will be mounted on the wall in my side entrance, high enough to allow bike handle bars to go under it. It needs to be pretty strong. The inverter is also in the side entrance and batteries will be mounted along side it.

humidity won’t be an issue. It’s a dry, enclosed space and I would seal the bus bars with electrical shrink for safety, but this would also protect against moisture. I haven’t decided yet, but will have to decide soon. I’ve a week off next week and want to get some stuff done.
